Penang Day 4 – Part 2: Institut Penyelidikan Perikanan, Penang Aquarium

Posted on November 8, 2008October 11, 2013 By sweet surrender 10 Comments on Penang Day 4 – Part 2: Institut Penyelidikan Perikanan, Penang Aquarium

After eating, we went to Institut Penyelidikan Perikanan which is also known as Penang Aquarium in Batu Maung. We didn’t pay to go in, didn’t plan to go in also because no photo taking allowed ;p Summore, they were closing too.

We just walked around the outside and see whatever was out there. You could touch the turtle but I didn’t touch.

The baby turtle in the tub, my first time coming in close encounter with turtles and my it was my first time to see real starfish! ;p

I always thought I dare to hold the starfish with my bare hands but after seeing them… It groosed me out! HAHAHA! There were also salt water fish in the aquarium.

You think sea cucumber is delicious? NAH! See this! Dare to eat? They are incredibly UGLY! EW! GROSS! However… I didn’t lost my appetite and I still like sea cucumber soup! ;p

These are called hmm… Forgot what’s the name ;p Pelf should know well. Is it River Terrapin?

You see the big sign on top of the mountain, “SOUTHPAY”? Next up, we will go there.

Those aren’t river terrapins. They look like Malayan box turtles (Cuora amboinensis) with their signature yellow stripe by the ears.

By the way, people don’t call starfish anymore these days. They’re called “sea star”, which I think makes more sense 😀

pelf, hehehe thanks. Oh is it? Sea star? Yea, it does make more sense.

Why do you want to dig that far?
