Penang Day 3 – Part 4: Kek Lok Si

Posted on November 2, 2008October 11, 2013 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on Penang Day 3 – Part 4: Kek Lok Si

Let’s go to Kek Lok Si Temple first. I’ll post about the other thing tomorrow or day later. Only day 3 *LOL* Not even half yet!

In fact Kek Lok Si is very near to where my friends are staying. It’s some sort of walking distant but we drove! :p Too tired to walk. Didn’t know can drive up too. Our friend purposely asked us to park down there.

So we walked up and I was expecting to see scenery on the way up but there were shops on both sides. Very enterprising eh ;p There are shops selling clothings or souvenirs on the way. I bought some souvenirs at the shop nearer to the top, big air-conditioned one.

Aiks… I thought I did edit photos of the views of the shops along the way up but I didn’t ;p

Up we went…

Nothing much to say… Just see photos.

The view from the top.

Left: One of the section of kek Lok Si.
Right: First Inclined Lift in Malaysia. RM4 per person for up and down.

Going up and view from the top.

The Bronze Kuan Yi Statue still under construction. There’s another sub-temple up there.

After that, we went for a rest at our friend’s house before going for dinner.

Next up will be our dinner.

amiey, hmm… Not really, we basically covered the whole island. It’s a mixture. It’s better to have a car there and get a map is good or some people hire a “driver” which the price should be reasonable.

I was there like 10 years ago where the bronze statue was under construction. Can’t believe the construction still haven’t completed!

wah, Kek Lok Si temple looks so much different now… but as usual, there’s always renovation-in-progress… looks most stunning at night when when it’s all lighted up, especially during festive occasions…
about navigating around the island, dun worry wouldn’t get very deeply lost one lar… as long as u dun cross the bridge… =D
but the traffic jam really beh tahan…

I enjoy the hill and beach of Penang. I was there early this month… everything seem to be different compare to years back except the Bronze Kuan Yin Statue…the view of George Town from kek Lok Si is superb.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
