Sharing Planet

Posted on February 23, 2007February 24, 2007 By sweet surrender 10 Comments on Sharing Planet

People had been talking about this place for years and I always never have the chance to pay a visit because it’s very out of the way and situated in quite a seclude area. Even many locals not sure how to go there. Actually I wanted to go there for our previous gathering but it was closed. -.-” It’s not actually, it’s opened. Sharing Planet is close on every Wednesday not Tuesday, strange… I saw the signboard stated Tuesday not Wednesday *shrug* hahahah…

Finally… Finally the chance is here! We were supposed to have gathering with some net friends last night but suddenly everyone couldn’t go. So… Only left Jimmy, Pinky and me. However, it didn’t hamper our mood, we went and decided to feast on the food there. It’s really not easy to locate. The cafe is not visible. All you see when you reach there is a lighted signboard and a signboard with opening hours. You have to walk to the right side of the huge detach house and use the plank bridge to go into the cafe. You will be greeted by lush green lanscape with lots of bonsais, I heard that some of the bonsais cost more than ten thousands Ringgit. Beware of mosquitoes πŸ˜› I do not recommend those who attract mosquitoes to go there. However, when you are in the cafe, you won’t get mosquito bites as mosquito quails are place under each table. You can choose to sit facing the pond or facing the plants. The place is quite dark at night but pretty romantic hahaha…

Left: The menu. They have huge variety of food and drinks. *SLURP* Our strategy for the night was to order 1 or 2 dish each and then we share all of them. After that, we split the cost. This is a good way to try out food with friends without blowing your budget.
Right: Carrot Milk(RM4.80) and Mango Smoothies(RM7.80). OMG!! The Mango Smoothies was damn thick! WOW… The sweetness was just right, no sugar I think… Yummy… It’s made from real mango!!! With real mango cubes! Heavenly! Love it! Besides, they claim that their fruit juice are free from sugar and water, 100% pure fruit juice!

Left: So cute!!! Hot chocolate(RM4.80). See the pig there? Hehehe… CUTE!!!
Right: Fried Calamari(RM6.80). Sorry but I have to give two thumbs down for this. Over fried and it’s tough.

Left: Creamy Wild Mushroom Shitake (RM3.80). If you order a main course, then you can get this at RM1 off. This is super recommended! THICK! Very THICK! Guarantee you’ll not regret it. They claim that it’s traditional fresh puree of mixed mushroom soup.
Right: Seafood Arabiatta (RM11.80), tomato gravy with mussel, calamari, shrimp and dory fish fried with olive oil. Very nice too.

Tuna Caesar Salad (RM7.80) serves with mayonnaise dressing. It has Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, capsicums, celery, tuna, turkey ham, and parmesan cheese. I don’t really like salad served with mayonnaise. If you like mayonnaise, then it’s really recommended. The portion was so HUGE!!!

Mixed Grill (RM23.80) is a combination of chicken, lamb shoulder, dory fish and sausages, served with daily vegetables and mashed potatoes or potato wedges with black pepper sauce. Goodness gracious, this was SUPER HUGE!!! Really worth it! You can share this with 2-3 friends. The photo on the left is how it looks like after Pinky dissected them hehehe… The lamb was 70% cooked -.-” It’s my first time eating lamb that is 70% cooked. Actually we wanted our sirloin steak to be 70% cooked but I think they had mixed up on that part. It’s all right, they tasted delicious! Recommended!!! Recommended!!!

Left: Charbroiled Sirloin Steak (RM17.80), selected part from the loin section grilled to your liking, served with mashed potatoes and daily vegetables with black pepper sauce. This was supposed to be 70% cooked became 100% cooked. It was a bit of bummer but it’s all right. Still tasted great and those super huge portion of the food we ordered gave us a big shock.
Right: At first only the 3 of us and we couldn’t finish our Mixed Grill. Luckily a net friend, QQ, manage to join us and we got him to finish them off. He ordered a glass of Apple Juice(RM4.80) but I forgot to take photo of it.
Right: Pinky, me, Jimmy and QQ. The satisfied and full diners. Hahahah…

Our total bill of the night was RM93.00. Very affordable right? I really recommend this place. I want to go again πŸ˜› provided we get to share food like this. Really worth it. I was FULL last night!

Here’s the map to Sharing Planet, it’s at Stapok. There are only 2 ways to get there, either by your own transport or taxi.

Here’s their website where you can view their menu, http://www.sharing-planet.com.

RECOMMENDED! MUST GO!

Patio The Terrace Cafe

Posted on February 22, 2007February 23, 2007 By sweet surrender 5 Comments on Patio The Terrace Cafe

CNY day 5, had lunch at Patio. It’s situated opposite Dewan Masyarakat, I don’t know what it’s called in English, it’s the hall where Kuching Festival Food Fair is held every year.

Left: Menu.
Right: The interior. There were so many people just now. Almost full house. Don’t judge a book by its cover. We were kinda shocked to see so many people in there.

Left: Watermelon juice(RM4.50)
Middle: Orange juice(RM4.50), too sweet, too much sugar!
Right: Tom Yam Fried Rice(RM4.50), hmm… I waited for about 45 minutes for it. Goshhh… So long… There were too many customers and they seemed to be out of hand. The Tom Yam paste was kinda clotted here and there. However, the portion was big enough. I think they are in a hurry. The table next to us complained to the owner and left by cancelling their final order.

Pattaya Fried Rice(RM4.50), portion is big. Worth the money and the taste wasn’t so bad but we waited for this for half hour -_-”

I heard many people complain that Patio’s food sucks. I don’t know *shrug*. As least the two dishes we ordered weren’t that bad. The portion are big, the price are reasonable. It’s air-conditioned with minimal decors. What I don’t like is that they are taking too long to get the food out, even the drinks too.

It’s a place to hang out with friends but for meals, I don’t really recommend it unless you have a lot of time to waste.

Chinese New Year 2007 – Day 3 (Group Visiting)

Posted on February 20, 2007February 21, 2007 By sweet surrender 3 Comments on Chinese New Year 2007 – Day 3 (Group Visiting)

It’s our group visiting session today! I miss it very much. It’s only once a year, only during CNY. Usually it’s on the 4th day of CNY but this year due to short holiday that most people have, many are going back to work tomorrow, we had the session today. However, not many people in our group this year. Many had last minute commitment. What to do? Short holiday, everyone was fully booked and you could only choose to be in one group. Unlike previously, you could go out with one group on the 3rd day, then another group on the 4th day. Too bad… Summore, 1st and 2nd day are usually reserved for family and relatives for most people. As for me? Hahaha… Anytime can do.

We had Nick with us this year. He’s always missing in our group photo as he’s working in KL and it’s not easy to meet up with him even if he’s back coz he has too many friends to entertain. Something special this year, Nick has moved to new house!!! We had Michael, Audrey’s friend, joining us. We started from my house instead of Lee’s. Lee Ling couldn’t make it this year. However, we managed to visit her. Hui Yee couldn’t join too. Had pizza at Khoon How’s house and everyone got hook on wasabi nuts at Nick’s house. Audrey joined us but we didn’t go to her house due to some unforeseen circumstances. We ended the visiting session earlier than the passed years.

Last but not least, our group photo

Back row(L-R): Michael, Audrey, Ann, Jee.
Front row(L-R):Khoon How, Nick, Me, Lee.

One more photo, yesterday’s photo. Taken at Alysha’s house. My face was so oily.
L-R: Jimmy, Me, Alysha.

I guess that’s all for CNY visiting posts. No more visiting plan, I think… We’ll see how tomorrow. It’s back to work for most people tomorrow. I should start with my work too πŸ˜›

Chinese New Year 2007 – Day 2 (I’m Old!)

Posted on February 19, 2007February 21, 2007 By sweet surrender 7 Comments on Chinese New Year 2007 – Day 2 (I’m Old!)

Went to a few houses for visiting. Visited Pinky, Alysha and Tan. Such a hot day today. Nothing much. Aren’t these cookies cute? The middle two bugs are chocolates. There are bumble bee and ladybird in the cookie tray too.

(-.-“) Do I look like I’m already married? Do I look that old? πŸ™ Many thought that I’m still under age, this is not the first time I’m being asked this question by strangers usually when I’m in full makeup. Aiyoyoyoyo… Could be I’m in full makeup today that makes me look more mature. Eeeeeeeee… I’m old already πŸ™ This question was asked by an aunty that visited Alysha’s house today. She asked, “You married already?”. I was thinking to myself, “Do I look that old? OMG!!” I just told her no, I’m not.

I can’t even imagine myself get married? I feel like I’m still too little to get married πŸ˜› *LOL* coz I don’t look like an adult at all. I’m so small*LOL* I’m still a little girl hahaha… Imagine if I got pregnant. I’ll be like a little girl with bulging belly(-.-“). I really can’t imagine. Hahaha…

I’m sure when you are in your 20’s people will start to ask when are you getting married. I’ve been asked this question since few years ago. GOSHHH… I hate it! Some of my parents’ friends even said that they want to intro their friends’ son to me. I just shook my head. Don’t want to talk so much to them. No point. Besides, I’m not seeing them everyday, so I don’t care. Good thing it’s not my relatives that asked this. My mom sometimes also hints me about getting married. What the… *SIGH* I’m still very much single, no boyfriend yet, how to marry? You thought get married so easy? How many times I have to make the point that when there is no financial stability, I will not want to talk about marriage! YES! I told her this many times already. It’s getting on my nerves.

I’m old already *cry* Or I should not go out with full makeup so that I still look like a little girl πŸ˜› Then some nosy aunties will not ask this kind of question to me.
