DinoTrek

Posted on April 8, 2007April 7, 2007 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on DinoTrek

After PIKOM, my dad suggested that we go visit DinoTrek at Tun Abdul Razak Hall, just opposite Sarawak Musuem.

GAH! We thought we could enter for free. Who knows? When we reached there, we saw the “Tickets Sold Out” notice everywhere outside the hall. Need to buy tickets one!!! Many parents were caught with surprise too. I don’t think I came across anything mention about the need to buy tickets in the media! Summore it’s by Petronas. We should be given free entrance for it! Not charging us!

Though the tickets are not that expensive for us(adult-RM5, children[3-17]-RM3) but I don’t think I want to pay that kind of money to go in to see some robots moving their hands and legs and some recorded audio to create the sound. So lame. I don’t think it’s worth to go in at all. You just see my photo, I don’t think you will think it’s worth it at all. Only some cardboard walls surrounded the “dinasours”.

Many children wanted to go in but tickets were sold out. Most parents brought their children there becuase they thought it’s free entrance. Any sane parents will not want pay for that kind of money to go in to see some lame robots! What to do? Children… Once they want something, they will make sure that they have it or else they will scream or cry on top of their lungs. As for the parents, they would be force to buy the tickets even though they didn’t wan to. Even though the tickets were sold out, they still need to find other time to go. They are very unwilling but they still have to squeeze their balls to buy the tickets because there is no way for them to disappoint their children.

Imagine this… You had been telling your children to do well or behave and you will bring them to see dinasours. All these while you thought that it’s free. Then when you reached there and found out that you have to buy tickets to go in knowing deep down that those are just some lame robots and lame audios to “cheat” the kids. Your children has been waiting for the moment, seeing their adorable faces, how can you have the heart to disappoint them? So, you can only tell them the tickets are sold out, you will have to find other day to go and you have to keep the promise. How can you disappoint your little angels right? So to compensate your angels for not being able show them the promised dinasours, you have to buy some DinoTrek merchandise on sale so that they will not be sad.

OK.. Tell me people! Do you know that they are charging for the entrance? As far as I know, I heard nothing or see or read anything about the need to pay to go in. Anyone? That’s why people always said that children’s money is always the best to earn. See how true is this?

The BanQuet – Buffet Lunch

Here’s the contact of The BanQuet:
Sublot 29, 3rd Exchange Commercial Centre, Jalan Datuk Tawi Sli near Everrise Supermarket 4 12/2Mile.

For inquiries:
Tel no.: 60-083-377041, 012-2040111 or 016-8844700

Oh I’m so hungry… Finally food! Free food! Hehehe…

The Island Of Food!

The appetizers.

The main courses with the hungry people. There were fried rice, bee hoon, butter prawn, mix veggies, chicken wings etc. All Singaporean style.

Left: Fruit platters. Very nice, very colourful but I didn’t have the chance too eat it hahaha… I was too indulged in the appetizers and main course.
Right: For the album.

Opsss.. Forgot to edit the pictures of the vergetable+fruit drinks and the mushroom soup.

The mushroom soup is so thick and rich. You can taste the cheese and milk in there, very sinful dish. It took me a while to figure out what kind of soup was that. It’s so different from other places. You can have this if you opt for the western menu.

The vegetable+fruit juice is green in colour. I’m not sure how’s the taste because they didn’t serve it to me.

During the whole time there, I don’t think they serve any carbonated drinks too us. They were all fresh juices or maybe syrup except the vegetable+fruit juice but those drinks didn’t taste like syrup to me. *Scratch head* No idea.

Hmmmm… Grand opening soon… I wonder will have the chance to go again or not? I’m sure the food will be different by then πŸ˜›

PIKOM 2007

Posted on April 6, 2007April 6, 2007 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on PIKOM 2007

I always thought that PIKOM is a one year one time thing. I don’t know since when they have it more than once a year. Anyway, I’m not interesting in going to this sort of computer fairs anymore especially the one in Kuching well… If KL’s or Singapore then that’s different story. Besides that, I’m no longer interested in these stuffs after a series bad luck with electronic gadgets that I had bought. So now if you ask me what is the latest graphic cards, latest speed, latest processor etc. *Stare-At-You+Blankly* I have no idea *SHRUG*.

The fair is more like a warehouse sales rather than exhibiting the latest technologies. Last time I would make sure I visit every PC fairs in Kuching that I know but now I’m not eager to go any unless I need to buy something. It’s always the same old companies everywhere. The market is already monopolised and spoilt by them. So? What to expect?

There were so many people today because it’s public holiday for Sarawak today. Today is Good Friday. If it’s not public holiday, there won’t be so many people in the afternoon. It was sardine packed. Not easy to walk and see things properly. Very hot and noisy too. The exhibitors were practically blasting all sort of musics off from speakers, sub-woofers, computer etc. Very irritating!

I wasn’t enjoying myself at all, it’s making me very bad temper. I hate crowds! It’s actually a last minute decision to go there after having lunch with my family somewhere nearby and my bro wanted to buy something that’s why we went there.

You know how bad temper I was that time? The poor promoter got “bombed” by me while I’m waiting for my bro and dad with my mom at one corner. The promoter was trying to introduce Streamyx package that comes with a HP computer for RM99 per month, she talked to my mom, I ignored her. I just told my mom we already have Streamyx at home, there is no point for her to promote it to us. Then my mom told her that. Next she asked what kind of package that we are subscribing. I glanced at her, she was smiling that time, and I blurted out in a rahter harsh manner, “Who cares anyway? Any pacakge is the same!”. (-.-“) I felt so bad after that but what else I can do? Go up and say sorry? I’m sure she had came across many people like this already, I’m just one of them. It’s just parts and puzzles of their work nature so be it.

I still can’t believe that I actually responded that way. I had never do this to promoters. Usually I would just tell them in a very polite way or just walked away. Blame the crowd, the heat and the stupid musics!

That’s my report for PIKOM. By the way, PIKOM is here for 3 days, 6th-8th April at 5th Floor, Permata Carpark.

The BanQuet – Installation Ceremony & Press Conference

Posted on April 6, 2007April 6, 2007 By sweet surrender No Comments on The BanQuet – Installation Ceremony & Press Conference

It was the installation ceremony, press conference cum soft opening yesterday at The BanQuet. Their trial run period will be 15 days starting today. They will prefer you to book within this 15 days rather than walk-in. Grand opening will be on 21st April. It’s a very hi-tech restaurant. You know why? According to the owner, their ordering and billing systems are all computerised. Your orders will be sent to the drinks section, the kitchen and other related departments via computer, then when you pay, everything is in the POS already.

As usual, some speeches from the management and then installation ceremony started.

The BanQuet

Posted on April 5, 2007April 6, 2007 By sweet surrender 15 Comments on The BanQuet

WAHAHA!!! I hope I’m the first in Kuching blogsphere to blog about this new place, The BanQuet. A place for your wedding and formal/casual functions. Basically it’s a restaurant with different touch, not your typical restaurant. They provide Chinese food, western food or you can even combine both of them for your function. You can even opt for outdoor wedding banquet there.

How lucky I am to be able to go there to eat for FREE! WAHAHAH! I really can’t help it! Hehehe… That’s how lucky it is to be a food blogger πŸ˜› Just joking, I’m not that popular to the extend where people actually invite me to their soft opening. Still, I was invited because… It’s related to my work and at the same time have fun eating hehehe… I’m not working there just in case you thought I am. An affiliate invited us over to introduce some people to us and to let me take photos for one of our projects. I think 99% I’m the first one to blog about it!! Damn kiasu le~~~

Let me present to you… THE BANQUET! Situated near Everrise 4th Mile. It’s quite easy to spot.

Left: The big bright orange signboard.
Right: The main hall entrance.

Left: The outdoor are where you can have your outdoor wedding dinner a.k.a garden wedding.
Right: The fountain with little blinking lights. It’s much obvious at night, it’ll be like stars.

Left: The lounge+western restaurant. You can hang out with your friends for a drink there.
Right: View taken from outside the lounge.

Interior of the lounge.

Left & middle: Our welcome drinks. It’s not orange juice. It’s some sort of mixed fruit juice. Not sure what it is hehehe…
Right: The main hall.

Table decorations.

Left: The hall again.
Right: The stage.

Done… Installation ceremony and cooking demo coming up next…
