Shiloh

I’ve bought irenelaw.net hehehe… It will be redirected to irenelaw.com, might do something to irenelaw.net when I got some ideas hahaha… I want to build its PR first since irenelaw.com is a PR3. You are welcome to link me with irenelaw.net 😛

Shiloh is one of the newest addition to the F&B industry in Kuching. Located at Travillion. Went there to have a drink with my friend few weeks back. Just for a drink so not much to blog about except letting you know about this new place and the prices of the food and drinks and very reasonable. If you have My Privilege Book, you can get 15% discount off your total bill.

I like the interior. Very simple. The lighting at the bar area is quite nice.

You can see random bible scriptures around, on the tables, on the world. There’s a karaoke system there but according to them, it’s only available for their church members usage. That explains the bible scriptures in there.

The drinks we ordered. Left is Cappuccino and right is hot tea. I don’t remember the price but the hot tea is below RM3 and Cappuccino is below RM5. The prices stated in the menu and the prices in our bill are different, they might have done adjustments to the pricings and the menu is not updated yet. Of course it’s cheaper than what stated on the menu. As for the food, the pricings are quite reasonable. They serve western food, the most expensive I saw in there was RM23+(if not mistaken). How do they taste? I have no idea but I will find a day to go there again.

I Wish To Have A Pair of CAMiLEON Heels

Posted on February 20, 2008February 20, 2008 By sweet surrender No Comments on I Wish To Have A Pair of CAMiLEON Heels

First of all, this is not a sponsored post!!! I found out about this heels from January 2008 Readers’ Digest. Then I decided to visit the CAMiLEON Heels official website. Man! I’m falling in love with the heels!!!

This is one of them that I like that I found in the website, the price is USD310!!! Converted to RM is like almost RM1000!!! OMG! Even with discount, it’s still in the range of USD280 and above!! I will never have the chance to own a pair. I won’t buy footwear that costs more than RM50, knowing me, I’m very stingy :P. How can it be possible that I will spend such amount of money on a pair of heels!??! Therefore… It’s just a dream and in my imagination that I can have this pair of heels.

The style of the heels is nothing to rave about, very simple and won’t go out of style. What makes it so special is that it can be transformed from a pair of 3 1/4″ high heels to a pair of 1 1/2″ low heels. With one pair of this heels, you can go anywhere with it! It’s really a great pair of heels to have. I wish I can have one too! 3 1/4″ is really high! I’ve never worn this high before but it’s great to wear it once in a while to add some inches to my height *LOL*. Then when my feet hurt, I’ll just transform it to a 1 1/2″ low heels, there is no need to bring a second pair of shoes/sandals or even suffer the pain throughout a party/event and suffer the consequences. If only money isn’t an issue… Almost RM1K!!! I can use this money to do lots of other things! Dream, dream, dream…

I’m sure sooner or late, there will be copycats coming out with this so called heels but I doubt that I would buy one for safety reason. I’m sure you don’t want to break your ankle or embarass yourself in case the heels mechanism went off suddenly while you’re walking or partying. You won’t have someone to sue hahaha… At least with the real thing you are assured of not having such problem. The below is quoted from the site:

Does the heel ever collapse or fold under unintentionally?
A: Never! Locking mechanisms inside the top portion of the heel keeps the heel locked in place at all times, whether you’re in the high or low heel position.

Does it reminds you of Transformer? I wish to have one…*Sigh* When will I be able to spend this kind of money without much thoughts?

Some CNY 2008 Group Photos

Posted on February 19, 2008February 27, 2008 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Some CNY 2008 Group Photos

Kept having disconnections lately!! What’s wrong with you Streamyx!!??! *Piss*

Here are two photos that was taken during the group visiting on CNY.

This was taken on the first day of CNY at the last house, Mikel’s(splashmilk.com) house. He’s the one in purple. Went there after Sushi King.

This was taken on Sunday, the 11th day of CNY(17.02.08). Lee wasn’t ready to end his CNY celebration this year just like that. In fact, it’s 15 days celebration for CNY but usually most people would not be in visiting mood after the fourth day. Since he was in Thailand for the first 6 days of CNY, he didn’t manage to celebrate it back home with us, he decided to organise a group visiting like we used to have in previous years hahaha… I didn’t organise it this year. One main reason is that he’s not in Kuching and Audrey wasn’t in Kuching too. The rest were plain lazy(no CNY mood) and one was missing in action -.-

We gathered at Lee’s house. That’s where I drank about a quarter glass of Heineken and immediately after few sips, my allergy started to attack again and it’s worst than the time I had Tiger but could stand it, no problem, just a bit more uncomfortable than the previous attack. 😛 I still feel a bit itchy here and there now.

Forgot to take our group picture at Ann’s house since everyone was there. So we took it at Lee Ling’s house, that explains Ann and Jee are missing in the photo. 😛

Few more days to the 15th day, it would also be the Chinese Valentine’s Day. On this day, single girls will throw oranges into the river hoping that their princes would be picking up the orange, found each other and live happily every after. This was long long long long time ago in China hahaha… The fact is that, nowadays people would be collecting it and sell it again! 😛 Hahaha…

Wonder what kind of activities Kuching Bloggers(points to the sidebar, see the round button) will have on that day? I guess I’ll just stay at home online, blogging. I’m kinda lazy to go out 😛

Sarawak Foundry and Engineering Industries Association’s Chinese New Year Dinner

Posted on February 19, 2008November 23, 2008 By sweet surrender 3 Comments on Sarawak Foundry and Engineering Industries Association’s Chinese New Year Dinner

Was invited by Lee to Sarawak Foundry and Engineering Industries Association’s Chinese New Year Dinner last Saturday(16.02.08) at Crown Square. This is my third year attending it. I went there for the food and to catch up with Lee *LOL* Why not!??!? Free dinner!! I didn’t care whatever is happening around, all I care was the food and catching up with my best friend. Every year, he tried to ask other friends in our group to attend but they always turn the invitation down and I’m the only one attended it hahaha… This was where I drank 3 quarter glass of Tiger beer and got allergy attack in the middle of the night! My first time drinking beer *BLEK* Good thing I was OK when I woke up.

Frankly, I think that this is a very good opportunity for all of us to attend because you don’t have to pay for the food and we can have a gathering there, kill two birds with one stone but too bad… Since he’s always looking for people to fill the table, I asked Jimmy to join last year, at least somebody could pick me up 😛 Of course, feast him with free dinner, nothing wrong 😛 Hahaha… This year he joined us too. It’s a win-win situation *LOL*

Here’s the food. Not that appetizing -.-” Lee agreed too, no hard feelings. There were Malay Datuk and Datin attending the function but there’s pork served! I thought they would standardise the menu so that no pork is served. We were quite surprise with the braised pork with bun. This is an eye opener to me, in previous functions that I attended, if there were Muslims attending, there won’t be pork served. Of course, the Datin and Datuk didn’t sit at the normal tables, they were at the VIP table with the organising committee.

Ok… I’ll briefly introduce the dishes, I’m not sure of the exact names.
Clockwise: Combination platter, noodle(forgot what it’s called :P), braised pork with bun, Broccoli and “mian jing”(don’t know what it’s called in English, it’s a type of vegetarian food, they usually use this to make vegetarian meat), steamed fish(don’t know what kind of fish), herbal chicken soup, prawn(tasted sweet, sour with hints of tomato and curry taste) with mantou, and fruit platter.

There was also cake but it’s ugly. I stole all the pictures from Jimmy’s blog hahaha… He didn’t put the cake picture up so I didn’t have it too. The food photos were taken by me but since he didn’t sent it to me, I could only steal it. 😛

Thanks for the invite Lee, you can count on me to attend it every year *LOL* Free dinner!! Who doesn’t want!??! 😛

Food & Tea Restaurant

Posted on February 18, 2008February 18, 2008 By sweet surrender 6 Comments on Food & Tea Restaurant

Was a bit naughty the last two days, I tried to drink about 3 quarter glass of Tiger on the first day and less than a quarter glass of Heineken on the second day. Guess what!?!?! I wasn’t high, I wasn’t drunk but I got allergy attack!!! First attack, few hours after Tiger at a dinner function invited by Lee, felt ithcy in the middle of the night. Second attack, just a few sips of Heinekan at Lee’s house. -.-” Luckily wasn’t serious but it’s itchy but not that ithcy still can stand. What’s so nice about beer? I still don’t get it? No more beer for me. I can’t drink! Doesn’t taste nice too. Don’t like it.

I have lots of food post lining up!! This is another place that I went with my family few days before CNY. Went to Food & Tea, The Spring for dinner before we shopped for some CNY goods.

This should be a franchise. You can find them in KL, Johor and Ipoh. They served Hong Kong style food. Just like Causeway Bay at Crown Square just that they don’t serve dim sum if not mistaken.

In Cantonese, it’s called “Foon Hey Dei Cha Chan Teng”. In Mandarin it’s called “Huan Le Di Cha Chan Ting”. The English name is derived from the Cantonese pronounciation, just my guess but don’t you think it sounds similar?

Left: Longan With Sea Coconut(RM3.20), it’s chef recommended and Hot Chinese Tea(RM0.80). Nothing to rave about the drinks. They taste as it should be hahaha…
Right: The serviette.

Left: Chicken Chop in Black Pepper Sauce With Rice(RM8.20), only two stems of vegetable hahaha… It’s really spicy and peppery… 100% Real black pepper taste but I don’t like.
Right: Nissin Noodle with Sliced Beef(RM6.80), felt like eating beef instant noodle. -.-” The beef was really tender but not worth it. Guess what?!?! It’s indeed instant noodle! I just found out about it from doing some search in search engine, no wonder it sounded familiar. Definitely not worth it! I better cook this at home which is so much cheaper!!

Left: Claypot Seafood Porridge(RM6+, don’t quite remember the exact price), tasteless… Chef recommended summore!
Right: Claypot Ginger Sliced Beef Porridge(RM5.50), tasteless as well and they both tasted similar except different things in there.

I’m not likely to go back to this place again unless I’m not the one paying. Things are not worth the money and they charged service and government tax!!! Total 15%!! I better go to Food Bazaar in The Spring to eat than eating here.
