Cape Jervis – Part 2

Posted on December 4, 2012 By sweet surrender No Comments on Cape Jervis – Part 2

Continuation from part 1 of Cape Jervis trip. We went to Deep Creek Conservation Park.

Have to pay to get in. AUD10 per car. No one will collect the money from you but you are required to be honest. Pay and take the permit to be displayed on your car to show that you’ve paid. Lots of wild kangaroo around. They’re harmless though.

It was such a hot day! I got sunburn on my forehead as I didn’t wear a hat or cap -.-”

Beautiful scenery. Definitely cannot see this in Malaysia.

It was rather tiring. Not supposed to be a hiking trip but we ended up hiking for hours!

The hard work paid off but it’s so hard to get back to our car. It’s just too far away but we had to as it’s getting late.

Lots of flies too, very annoying yuck! Well… That’s what usually you’ll get in Australia. When the time is hot, the flies come out to play!

That’s the end of my day trip to Cape Jervis.

Cape Jervis – Part 1

Posted on December 2, 2012 By sweet surrender 1 Comment on Cape Jervis – Part 1

Went to Cape Jervis 3 weeks ago with some friends from church. I’ll just let the photo do the talking. Such lazy way to blog hahaha…

Just a brief introduction about Cape Jervis.

It is the pick up and drop off point for daily car and passenger ferry services to Kangaroo Island.

It’s approximately 108 km south of Adelaide.

Left: What a contrast!
Right: The ferry to Kangaroo Island. I was on the ferry last Saturday. Will post about it.

This post is just showing the photos along the way to Deep Creek Conservation Park.

Will have more photos coming soon!

Last Night in Unilodge Metro Adelaide

Posted on November 30, 2012November 30, 2012 By sweet surrender No Comments on Last Night in Unilodge Metro Adelaide

Updating this on my final night in Unilodge Metro Adelaide, my home for the past 1 3/4 year. Starting tomorrow, I will no longer have a place of my own and will be staying temporary at friend’s house in her sister’s room while her sister is away. In March 2013 (my final 2 weeks+ in Adelaide), I need to move again but no idea to where yet.

I’ve been looking forward to this day since months ago but now I’m dreading it! I hate the feelings of not having a place to call home and living like a nomad. I was supposed to move in with him, we had talked and planned about it but now everything just gone down the drain 3 weeks ago. That’s why I ended up like this. Frankly, I’m pretty depressed with it. I guess it’s because I’m in an uncertain situation, living in other’s place and have to be bound by all sort of restrictions. Even space is a problem. Sigh…

Anyway, I should be thankful for her to let me temporarily stay at her place or else I will be in very deep trouble hunting for place to stay in 3 weeks with very tight budget and very short and uncertain rental time (I didn’t prepare the budget for it due to the moving in decision). The place I’m moving in tomorrow is still in the city, it’s very convenient for me, and I don’t have to pay full rent. I think I will feel much relaxed once I’m settled down in the new place. I’m just in the state of uncertain that’s all.

Packing is horrible 🙁 if the unfortunate thing didn’t happen, I wouldn’t be worrying about how to pack my stuffs and where to store them. Now, not only I have to pack and filter but also need to move some stuff to another friend’s house. Worst, I brought so much stuff on my last trip back! Actually, I can always still move to his house but need to rent his empty room. Major problem is that it’s too far away from the city and I don’t have a car, I have no rights to drive his car anymore. Besides, moving in to his place might not be a very good idea too with such situation. At the same time, I felt that he wasn’t quite willing to give me the key even though we had sorted it out on the night we broke up. At the end, I decided to not wait for him for the key and move to this friend’s house in the city after she knew about my situation. In fact, she offered it to me months ago but I told her I’m moving in with him. At the end, I still have to take her offer.

I’ll stop here for now. Good night!

Dessert Story in Adelaide

Posted on November 28, 2012August 17, 2014 By sweet surrender 1 Comment on Dessert Story in Adelaide

Dessert Story is one of the dessert chains/franchise serving various hot and cold Hong Kong and Taiwan desserts. Heard quite a fair bit about it and finally I managed to go there back in October! Yes! Another October post. So far, went there twice.

Left: Taro ball tofu pudding (AUD6.20), you can have it hot or cold.
Right: Green tea and vanilla ice cream served with strawberry slice and grass jelly in coconut milk (AUD8.50).

Left: Herbal ice + taro ball + cream (AUD6.80), I really like it. Very filling too! You can have it hot or cold. This is cold version with crushed ice. Hot one will have red bean soup base. I tried the hot version and it’s too sweet! Cold is still the best.
Right: Milk snow ice with crystal jelly and mango juice with popping pearl (AUD10.90). HUGE! Have to share this, it’s delicious.

Overall, the dessert here is quite big in portion. I could just have it as a meal! So filling! Seriously! It’s not bad, I would go back. With the portion and the price, I’m ok with it.

Opsss… Slacking Again…

Posted on November 27, 2012November 28, 2012 By sweet surrender No Comments on Opsss… Slacking Again…

Oh dear… It’s been days! Was busy last Saturday, went to Kangaroo Island for a day trip, tiring!

Then, busy with my coming New Zealand trip, been busy booking tours and accommodations. Nuts! Everywhere fully booked and prices are higher than usual. What to do? Peak season. Gonna be in Christchurch and Queenstown from 26th Dec 2012 – 2nd Jan 2013.

Again… Not welcoming the new year in Adelaide, just like last year. Last year was in Incheon Airport, Korea *LOL*. The year before was in Singapore. This year, in New Zealand. Obviously, this is a sign telling me that Adelaide is not the place for me. I thought I will be welcoming it in Adelaide, it will be my first and many years to come but things took a turn and I didn’t even get to celebrate it here even during my last time here. That’s the sign for sure! Too many signs telling me this is not the place for me such as my occupation is no longer in SOL, not getting all 7 in IELTS, and ending of the supposed-to-be-successful relationship. Just have to accept the fact. It’s the way God is telling me this is not the place to be.

Then, where? I’m sure He has his plan for me. I will just enjoy whatever time I have here until I go home for good in March 2013. It’s gonna be sooooo sad but what to do? What’s not yours will not be yours, if it’s yours, it will come back to you in the end.

Will update again soon. Busy packing to move this week. Updates will be rather slow until I settle down in new place.

See you soon!
