My very first steak in Adelaide in a hotel! Freaked me out! Luckily there’s discount coupon so we didn’t pay full price.
It’s was a week ago, my friend invited me to join her friends for dinner. We had our dinner at Culshaw’s Grill located in Majestic Roof Garden Hotel.
Left: It’s located just next to the hotel’s lobby.
Right: Steamed Brocolli, Butter, and Almond (AUD7.90). The presentation was quite cute hahah…
Left: Aged Black Angus Rump Steak 400g (AUD35.90) roasted field mushroom and topped with barossa bacon rashers and a rich glaze. The meat was a bit dry and tough. My friend asked for medium but it didn’t feel like medium instead it was medium well done. I like the bacon rashers.
Right: Eye fillet 250g (AUD39.90) on a buttered potato crush, topped with crispy prosciutto and finished with a shiraz glaze.
Left: When I saw kangaroo on the menu, I decided to order without much considerations else I don’t think I will have any other chance to try kangaroo meat. So this is my first kanagoroo meat in Australia. Grilled kangaroo fillet steak (AUD29.90) with a pear & parsnip mash, a mini peppercorn & parmesan damper & a rich red currant glaze. The meat was really lean. There’s no unique taste for the meat though unlike beef or lamb. It tasted neutral to me, I don’t mind to have it again. It was grilled to perfection. The pear & parsnip mash was delicious! The overall dish was good enough for me.
Right: Aged grain fed scotch fillet 300g (AUD35.90) on a butternut and smoky paprika squash with crispy szechuan red onion rings & a rosemary & port glaze. I like the red onion ring.
Overall, the meal was satisfying. The bill came to a total of AUD102+ inclusive of a bottle of lemonade and 2 glasses of wine after discount.
Hi Irene, Holy Smoke! I love that steak! Have always love having either ‘T-bone’ or ‘sirlion’…..
But when working days had money or rather on company expense, it was ‘Kobe steak’.
Have you tried it?
If can, try it…..and you will not only taste the difference but see moon rise half hour early, ha ha.
Its delicious! Specially reared cows for just this steak.
Have fun.
Lee.
Uncle Lee, if I have the chance to try kobe beef, I’ll sure to try it.
