Posted on April 30, 2008April 30, 2008 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on Poppies – Big Kids Like Us

After seeing things for babies and mommies, let’s see something for us, you and me, the big kids! Hehehe… Really couldn’t help it, even the guys went gu gu ga ga over them! Hehehe…

These are books(paper based or electronic based) and toys for children even adults that want to learn English can use them such as the Leap Frog products on the bottom right. There are also CDs for babies and children even also for the baby inside you.

I’m very sure the big kids are fascinated by these hahaha…

CROCS!!! *AHEM* I can see somebody jumping up and down now… You know who you are. They have wide range of CROCS for you, the size range from children to adult. There’re many shades of PINK CROCS! Hahaha… You hear PINK!?! Eeek… I forgot to try on a pair of CROCS, I’m have no idea why so many people go crazy over it, I should have use this opportunity to try them out but I didn’t.

Left: Shoes/Sandals from Clarks.
Right: Bobux, leather shoes for your poppies!! Don’t play play oi! Leather shoes!! Hehehe…

Left: AHEM… I know someone will be open eyes wide wide when see this πŸ˜›
Right: These did make some of the guys went “SO CUTE~” *LOL* Then we started snapping photos again hahaha…

Left: So cute!! Cuteness overdose already…
Right: Of course, you can buy gifts for your relative’s or friend’s newborn.

Left & middle: Hehehe… We went crazy over these also! The keychain, shoe keychain! So CUTE CUTE CUTE!
Right: The membership card and the milk powders+diapers card that I mention in the Baby Chapter.

Left: The owner, she’s Olivia. It’s very kind of her to let us feature her shop in our blogs. Of course not to forget Wendy the store manager for entertaining us and fed us with so much information hehehe…
Right: I’m here! Sorry about the bad handwritting, I’ve not been writing properly for quite sometimes πŸ˜› Everyday my fingers dance on the keyboard more than I hold a pen/pencil to write. πŸ˜›

This wraps up post about Poppies. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful πŸ™‚

OH WAIT! Where’s the picture of the playing dough that Anna and I went gu gu ga ga over!??! *LOL* Forgot to take pictures of them. Hehehe… I want to play with those *HINT HINT*

Poppies – Mommy Chapter

Posted on April 29, 2008April 28, 2008 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on Poppies – Mommy Chapter

After seeing the things for babies, we must not forget about the mommies also. Daddies should from time to time pamper the mommies. Without them, you won’t have your babies. Hahaha… Let’s see what you can give to your wife to make her feel that you love and care and play an active role for your children.

Left: Some all time favourite pregnancy and childbirth books are available.
Right: Breast pumps for mommies. For some guys, you must be wondering what is this for. Hahaha… It’s for your wife to pump the breast milk out to store in bottles for your kids! Got it??!?! Breastfeeding is good for your baby and personally I strongly support breastfeeding. πŸ™‚ I’m not breastfed last time, I was fed with S26, formulated milk that was quite popular back then, now there are many brands available.

Pregnant women also want to feel pretty, deserve to wear nice clothings too. Poppies also offer maternity clothings. In May, there will be a fashion show and talks for parent-to-be and various activities by Poppies at tHe Spring. I will keep you updated about it.

Your wife deserves to be pampered with beauty and health products that do not contain harmful substances to the baby. Oh My Sweetness!!(I’m going to use this from now in instead of OH My Goodness or OMG hahaha…) Anything that is safe for pregnant ladies are safe for you are me. So if you are looking for lotions, creams, shower gels, lipbalms, soaps and so on that are safe for use, you can get these, they are all quality products imported from US, Aus, NZ and UK. Told you this shop is for everyone hahaha…

It’s a mommy friendly shop where you can use the diaper changing room or nursing room to change your baby diaper or breastfed your baby in there.

Poppies carries wide range of products for mommies from the time she got pregnant to after the baby is born. I only show you some here, there are also baby slings, nursing pads, bras, pillows, maternity sanitary pads, surgical ring cushions and so on. Check them out at Poppies. I’m sure you will find what you need there.

Next up… Things for older babies, kids and big kids like us!! WAKAKA… I saw some nice stuffs there… Can someone buy for me? Please… *BLEK*

Poppies – Baby Chapter

Posted on April 28, 2008April 29, 2008 By sweet surrender 9 Comments on Poppies – Baby Chapter

Poppies is a type of flower. Did you know there’s another meaning for it? You know how the locals here like to called babies “ang gugu”? People overseas will call their babies “poppies”. Interesting, I didn’t know this until I visited Poppies at tHe Spring to see what they have to offer. It’s a new shop that sells stuffs for babies, children, mommies and also the big kids like us hahaha… Was honoured to be invited to feature this place in my blog by My Privilege Book and Poppies. I went there yesterday with few more Kuching Bloggers. They were Alex and Deluxe, Anna, Cherlyn, Edwin, and Jimmy.

I’m sure if we don’t have children or babies or intend to shop for friend’s baby shower and so on, you won’t be stepping into this shop. How wrong was I. I will split this post into parts to share with you the interesting stuffs that I found in there. This shop is for everyone!!

Left: Do check out the islands to find great offers that they have from time to time. Every Wednesday, they will have some special offers on certain products. It’s a good time to go and look around on stuffs for your poppies hehehe…
Right: Kids will surely be bored, so they can play here but of course must have someone looking after them, don’t leave them there alone to play.

Things for your baby’s bedroom. You can get cots, mattress, pillows, cradles, blankets and so much more!! Spoilt for choices hahaha… Cuteness overdose also hahaha…

Clothes for babies are available also.

These had grabbed our attention! It’s stockings!! Hehehe… So cute!! Great for gift.

Things for feeding your babies. Major brands are available here such as Avent, Chicco etc. You can get stuffs from UK, US, NZ or Aus here. You don’t have to fly to KL for it anymore. This is why the owner started this business as she had problem looking for things for her baby last time. The first shop is located in Sibu, I’m sure those living in Sibu will know Poppies. This is the second shop, opened in March in tHe Spring.

Milk powder and diapers are essentials for babies. It’s never cheap but you can get benefits from Poppies if you are their member. Signing up as a member only require RM30 for lifetime membership, no annual renewal, no expiration of points. RM1=1 point and you can use these accumulated points to get freebies or enjoy special offers. Special card is given to you to record down the number of milk powder and diapers that you had purchased. With 10 stamps collected, you are entitle for selected offer.

Car seats and strollers. We were told that you must start putting your baby on car seat as early as possible so that when he/she got older, he/she will get used to the idea and won’t make a fuss about it. Start early is the key.

Baby food from Australia. Very colourful hehehe… Wanna try?

Happy Birthday Paul @ Oregano

Posted on April 17, 2008November 21, 2008 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on Happy Birthday Paul @ Oregano

Today is Paul’s birthday, 25th birthday. Yesterday we had an early celebration, organised by his sister, Rose at Oregano. It’s not easy to trick him out without letting him know that we were going to have a surprise birthday celebration for him because he didn’t want to go out last night and Rose had to trick him by asking him to send My Privilege Book to me at Oregano *LOL*

Oregano… Ignore that pink “boy” that teleported here to join us πŸ˜› Hahaha… Very nice effect right?

Let’s see what we had last night… I don’t have all the names and prices, just want to show your some of the food we had.

Some of the drinks…

FOOD!

The birthday boy with his presents and tiramisu. Guess how much this cake costed Rose? Hahaha…

The tiramisu, the birthday cake for the night. Quite nice but not recommended to eat too much *LOL*

I don’t have the group photo to share…

Lastly, Happy Buttday to you Paul! 25 years old with your 25 wrinkles hahaha…

Big Apple Tea Break

Posted on April 16, 2008April 17, 2008 By sweet surrender 12 Comments on Big Apple Tea Break

I’m very stress, I’m very busy, I’m very piss! The thing is not hard but when you people come and interrupt the process halfway, we have to redo the whole thing from scratch! DAMN IT! Made up your mind, confirmed everything before asking for changes! SUCKS! You expect a 3-4 days job to be completed in 24 hours!?!? That’s insane!

At the end… I went too… Hahaha… Actually went there on Tuesday afternoon to meet M, can’t think of where to go and since haven’t been to Big Apple, it’s office hour summore, so decided to go there and buy some home at the same time. Thought that there won’t be many people but the queue was long! Queued up for more than 30 minutes for 12 donuts(6 to eat there, 6 to bring home).

While waiting… the open concept kitchen. See all the sauces? So colourful hahaha…

More of the kitchen view.

Donuts waiting to be eaten…

More… Here’s the box that fit the 6 donuts.

Left: This is for home, RM12 for 6 pcs.
Right: This is for eating on the spot, RM12 for 6 pcs. There were 6 of us, so each of us only pay RM2 for 6 donuts. You know how we ate? Hehehe… One donut splited into 6 πŸ˜› That’s how you enjoy and taste food with your friends ok??!? We didn’t wash our hands summore hahaha… Summore first time meet hahaha… It’s like sharing our germs *LOL* The six of us were M, Jimmy, Allen, Robin and Eric(not a blogger). We didn’t order any drink. Thought that the donut will be very sweet but it’s not, PinkCotton, you are right! Hahaha…

12 pcs per box is RM22, 2 boxes with 6 pcs each is RM24, each donut is RM2.30. There are 23 types:
Pink Panther, Duren Duren, Chocoring, Rolling Stone, Kiwi Blitz, Semi Glacier, Say Cheese, Go Nutz, Kimochi, Green Teaser, Chocoholic, Iceberg, Whitnut, Snowy, 101 Dalmation, Choreo, Spicy Flossy, Mango Tango, Glacier, Californian Almond, Moonraker, Chococinno and The Alien.

I’m so lazy to tell you which I had tried, you go figure out yourself. Very busy sigh… I need a break πŸ™

According to our friend, guess what? We were told that the donuts here are smaller than KL’s! 30 cents more expensive than KL which I’m not surprise but smaller than KL, that’s so wrong! You already increase the price, you don’t have to reduce the size! ARG! What to do? Kuching people are damn rich, can afford to spend on expensive stuffs.

Left: Most people didn’t eat their donut on the spot, they take-away. Here’s the place for you to eat and you can see the them making donut from the clear glass hahaha… We kept taking photos of them and observing how they did it.
Right: Present to you, M! Hehehe… Taken at Starbucks. You have any idea who she is? Hehehe… She’s the belly dance girl during Kuching Entertainers’ Night.

By the way, there’s another report for the bloggers’ meet last Saturday but I’m still waiting for photos to be sent to me. Sigh… Others already got theirs, I haven’t get mine. I have several posts lining up as well… No time to edit the photos also.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
