Farewell Dinner & Karaoke

Posted on September 15, 2008September 16, 2008 By sweet surrender 9 Comments on Farewell Dinner & Karaoke

Was invited to Ivelyn’s farewell party at Sharing Planet last week as she’s leaving to UK for her studies today.

The drinks we had and since it’s a Tuesday, it’s Ladies’ Night at Sharing Planet and each lady was given with a glass of lemon mint. Here are some of the drinks that we ordered are Honey Milk, Orange Juice, Watermelon Milk, Carrot Juice, and don’t-know-what-tea πŸ˜›

Here are some the food we had…

Left: Spaghetti Bolognaise(RM9.80)
Right: Spaghetti Carbonara(RM11.80)

Left: Tuna Ceaser Salad(RM7.80), portion is HUGE! Eat this will be enough to make you full already even though it’s only appetiser. Quite nice but I don’t like tuna ;p
Right: Double Cheezyland(RM12.80), I’m poor this month… So I ordered chicken, else I would be ordering beef. This is pretty tasty and very filling. Portion is quite big for me, I had to ask those around me to help me finish it. It’s actually breaded boneless chicken layered with melted cheese and parsley garlic butter.

Left: Lemon Butter Salmon, not idea of the price but it looked pretty luxurious.
Right: Marinated Lamb Shoulder(RM16.80)

Have you ever get a birthday celebration 6 months in advance? Odd I tell you! Just because she won’t be able to have her 21st birthday here next year they celebrated it earlier with her. IT IS WEIRD! *LOL* Initially was a farewell dinner and it became surprise birthday celebration but she wasn’t surprised because timing was wrong.

A group photo for the night after all the birthday thing. There are:
Angel, Xin Yi, Grace, Jean, me, Serene, Yien Yien, Ivelyn, Jimmy, Jojo, Fedrick, Isaac, Michael, Kenneth(the owner of Sharing Planet) and his fiance(I think…)

Then… Few days later… Guess what we did? We went to sing karaoke at Enter K and she got another surprise birthday celebration! This time it did give her a surprise. GOSH! You say is this crazy or what?!?! Anyway, the cheesecake was really yummy!

Here… The “birthday” girl and our group photo.

HfH Project – Part 2

Posted on September 6, 2008September 6, 2008 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on HfH Project – Part 2

… continuation from part 1

Basically I’m just going to show you some photos I got from Jimmy, Calvin and Georgette, you can read about the details in kuchingbloggers.com

On the way to Kampung Senibong, Singai, Bau. Blue blue sky… Such great weather. Finally we saw the sign thought that we had reached but who knows…

We were greeted by road like this!! Hahaha… Poor car… After that we reached an empty land with 3 cars already parked there but we saw no body. Gave Georgette a call and she asked us to walked down finally we reached the site.

We were assigned to cut the smaller diameter steel bars due to our size hahaha…Those bigger ones cut the bigger diameter steel bars. After that, we started bending them into rectangle rings. I was teaching them how to do it πŸ˜› Hahaha… As I’m the only one from my team that managed to try my hands on it with another team.

There! Our rings! hahaha…

Then, it’s the bigger bars that we needed to straighten and bend them. I didn’t do this except holding and supporting at the other side of the bar because it’s long. These three were the ones that was doing almost all the straightening and bending hehehe… Don’t be fool by their size. Hahaha… We did all these when the other 6 went back. Left 5 girls and 1 guy hehehe… I’m the only one didn’t do the bending because I know I won’t be able to bend it a single bit hahahah…

Just right after we’re done with our works, it rained! Phew… We were ahead of schedule also.

Lastly, it’s an interesting project and if you are interested in it, you can contact HfH to arrange for it. Again, it’s a great way to discover yourself and develop team building spirit.

HfH Project – Part 1

Posted on August 31, 2008August 31, 2008 By sweet surrender 14 Comments on HfH Project – Part 1

Oh dear… I think I’m poisoned… Hahaha… When I think of you, I would smile to myself and had this fuzzy feeling inside. Miss you…

Woke up at 7am this morning, so lazy, still wanted to sleep but had to drag my lazy bum up because I had promised and commited to the project that we’ve been planning for months! We are going to help build a house today!

We went to Kampung Senibong for the built. There were 12 of us and later in the afternoon, there were only 6 of us left. We were so proud of ourselves because we managed to complete the works ahead of schedule. YAY! Luckily we were not require to mix cement πŸ˜› We did the cutting and bending of steel bars mostly under the shade today.

It was tiring and fun at the same time but I don’t want to do it again *LOL* Nevertheless, it’s a great experience. I didn’t expect I can actually do these jobs and got to know that I’m not the kind that really like to get my hand too dirty hahaha… Also I found out that some people can be really strong and can handle these jobs quite well! Well done everyone!

This is great way to develop team building spirit instead of going for some silly telematch which I HATE SO MUCH! Companies/schools/churches or any organisation are welcome to be a part of this project. I’ll blog more about it in coming parts. Meanwhile, you can check out HfH’s blog.

I forgot to bring my camera today hence not many photo from me. I’m waiting for photos from all those that had taken our photos today πŸ˜‰

My shoes! It gave up on me just not long after we started work! Hahaha… It’s already quite worn out but I didn’t expect both sides gave up on me at almost the same time. Both bottom layers came off! *LOL* That explains the wires and rubberbands on my shoes and also 4 screws in my shoes πŸ˜› It was funny! Thanks to Eric for being the cobbler hahaha… Without the screws my shoes couldn’t be worn anymore hahaha…

This is the one and only photo I took on-site using my phone. It was raining and we were waiting to go home. The chickens also wanted to keep themselves away from the rain.

Tomorrow would be a group of Japanese students continuing the built. I’m sure there’s many eye candies hehehe…

Lastly, I started to sneeze non-stop now -.-” What’s wrong!??!

Jambu With Patrick

Posted on August 21, 2008August 21, 2008 By sweet surrender 6 Comments on Jambu With Patrick

Today is 20082008, someone’s birthday today hahaha…

Patrick came back to Kuching for a short stay before heading back to UK. Since he’s leaving on Thursday, we met up with him last night at Jambu after several changes of time :P. I went there with Allen. It’s my first time go to Jambu. It’s a really nice place albeit a bit spooky hehehe…

The place is too dark to take any nice photo especially the signboard, summore it’s located quite far away from the entrance. Located at Crookshank Road, just road side before you reach Civic Centre. We sat at the back which is outdoor, you can see the settees with very colourful cushions.

Left: Just outside the washroom.
Right: At one of the corridor.

Left: In the ladies hehehe… Lots of mirror, camwhored a bit in there until the guys thought that I fell into the toilet πŸ˜› The toilet is so fancy and so clean *LOL*
Right: One of the decor just next to the flush button.

Left: Potpourri just below the sink.
Right: Some spices as decor above the sink.

L-R:
Nachos beef(RM20), a moderate portion served with Mozzarella, Jalapenos, Guacamole and sour cream. It’s really tasty, recommended. Great for sharing.

Patrick ordered some beers(RM9 per mug), he drank it himself of course hahaha. Even if he ordered for us, I won’t be drinking, I can’t drink hahaha… I just don’t understand what’s so nice about beer also hahaha…

I ordered Pina Colada(RM10), Patrick thought it’s alcoholic drink πŸ˜› Hehehehe… Nuh~ This is the non-alcoholic version, it’s a mixture of pineapple, coconut milk topped with French Creme, I think it’s very nice, sour and at the same time the coconut milk and French creme gave balance to it, this is a very sinful drink I should say.

Allen ordered banana milkshake but apparently the bananas weren’t ripe yet, still hanging on the tree and they didn’t tell him about it until he asked for his banana. So he ended up ordered Yellow Jacket(RM10), a drink with mixture of pineapple, orange, and lemon. Sounds very sour right? According to him, it’s sour!! πŸ˜›

Left: Some of the decor you can see from the window before going to the back.
Right: The view of the restaurant before going in.

More views of the building.

Group photo, it’s very hard to get nice colour photo in such dark place. Thanks to Patrick, he paid for everything. Nice meeting you.

Kuching Bloggers’ Meet 2008 Report

Posted on July 13, 2008July 14, 2008 By sweet surrender 27 Comments on Kuching Bloggers’ Meet 2008 Report

SO BUSY!!! Finally I got to update this. Everyone so kiasu and try to be the first to update it πŸ˜› Hehehe… Usually I’m the kiasu one hahaha… OK… I didn’t take many photos last night because I was busy. I only got some photos in my camera and most photos you see here are from Jimmy and Edwin.

I sponsored two prizes for the King and Queen of the night, it was a last minute decision πŸ˜› I’m not the one who judged though, I had my spies that did the work for me and it’s their decision πŸ˜› You know who they were? They were Gette, Edwin, Jf, Rose, and Paul. Both King and Queen were judged on how they stood out from the rest. For the King and Queen, I’m not sure whether you did notice the special thing with the tins and the mugs or not πŸ˜› Hehehe…

The section reserved for us. I didn’t know this area is accessible πŸ˜› Hahaha…

By the way, pictures are all in random order.

Left: Rambo trying to woe the girls πŸ˜›
Right: This is the only group photo I have with the table of bloggers, shame on me πŸ˜› The rest I just took their photos without me with them.

Left: Effa, the Queen of the night because she’s so RED πŸ˜› hahaha… Also she camwhored a lot! Also she made the effort went around mixing with other bloggers though she didn’t know anyone, it’s her first bloggers’ meet and she came alone. She really deserved the prize.
Right: Darth Vader aka Wombok aka Gordon. Came with his mask, this poor guy… When he’s with his mask, everyone wanted to have photo taken with him but once the mask was removed, no one bothered to ask him for photos *LOL* He could actually wear his mask for such long hours hahaha… At the end he had to take it off because it’s too hot hahaha… That make him stood out and he’s the King of the night. Notice Tim at the back? He got so frustrated because Wombok got all the girls πŸ˜›

Left: Me with the King and Queen. I’m so tiny πŸ˜›
Right: Hehehe… Me in action during the lucky draw.

More of me giving out the luck draw prizes to the lucky bloggers. They are(clockwise) Damien, Justin, Andy, Micheal(this naughty boy kept showing off saying that he’s young and I’m old, even called me ah ma!! πŸ˜› Hahaha… You know what, while I was trying to finish up my food and ate my lamb chops with my fingers, he kept looking and smilling at me, made me so shy *LOL*), Ivan, and lastly, I drew a number hahaha…

Most turned out wearing black, no plan for it, quite a surprise *LOL* See how black were we πŸ˜› Hehehe… Should have ask everyone to come in black and black is the worst colour to wear to Sharing Planet because the mosquitoes would be targetting you! πŸ˜›

Only got these in my camera. (L-R) My sis, Rose, Sharon, Paul, and Jimmy.

Before we called it a night, group photo was a must! I think some left earlier.

The KB team, one for the album, almost everyone in black. Some of the team members couldn’t go last night.

Thanks to everyone that helped out last night and thanks to those that came.

That’s all. So tired and I skipped church this morning ;p

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
