As usual, every year around this time of the year, there will be a bridal fair. The previous 2 bridal fairs were held at Crowne Square, Pending. This year, they switched to Old Court House. The setting is odd. It’s not a very good location at least for me. It’s not easy to find parking. Today 3pm was the opening ceremony but I didn’t stay for it. They talked too much for the speech. Boring~~ Raining summore so left after simply took some photos.

There you go…. Our very own Sarawak Bridal Fair. It’s from 23rd-25th March, 10am-10pm.

BTS 2007
BTS(Building Trade Show) is here, 22nd March-25the March, 5th Floor, Permata Carpark. Thought of going there for a visit to cover the event but who knows the environment was so unwelcoming.
See the photo, you will know what I mean. The 2 security guards sitting there and on the right(not in the photo) is the registration counter. There’s a sign put up asking visitor to register for lucky draw before going in. I don’t think it’s that simple. So unwelcoming! Why must register for lucky draw? Not everyone wants to participate in it. Why force people to register, not everyone wants to give you their details! What is there so important in there that everyone must give their details before entering? What do you have in there? People want to rob you off your building materials? Or to avoid petty crimes like pick pockets?
I know BTS always have lucky draw for visitors and all these while it’s optional. I took part in it everytime and never win anything. Now it’s compulsary for those that go in. Summore placing 2 security guards there is making the atmosphere so tense! Not only that, the registration counter felt too formal. It’s deterring people from going in for a visit. We were so turn off by it and left without going in.

Launching of the Harmony Arch @ Carpenter Street, Kuching
I thought it’s just the usual CNY dinner organised by associations last night(07.03.07). When we reached there, then we realised that it’s the launching of the Harmony Arch at Carpenter Street. I thought they had launched it long time ago but not yet.

Before the dinner started, we were served with some CNY tid bits while waiting for those big people to come. The Chief Minister of Sarawak would be launching it. At first I was thinking of sitting there while waiting, then my bro suggested that we went to the front to have a look since I’m bringing the camera along, why not?

The launching is organised by 25 Community Associations of Kuching Division. The commitee members were lining up waiting to greet the arrival of our “beloved” CM.

CM reached the podium and activated the fireworks to officiate it. This is the first time I came so close to the CM in person and my first time took his photo. *LOL*

Dragon dance performance started and the CM and the rest walked into the arch then came back for group photo shot. Then dinner started. The dinner wasn’t typical Chinese dinner. It’s from Bangkok Thai Restaurant. We had pineapple rice, tom yam, sweet and sour chicken feet skin, sweet and sour fried chicken. We only had 4 dishes, it was very late already and we didn’t want to wait for the rest of the dishes anymore. We left after that the 4th dish. The fifth dish was beef(I think…), I wanted to eat it but my parents wanted to leave already, so what to do? Left with them lo~~~

While we had our 3rd dish, fireworks display started. According to them, the fireworks cost about RM20K. The fireworks were all very big ones. I didn’t expect to get such nice photos of them hehehe… Too bad I only started my photo taking after I’m done with my food else there will be more photos to share.
