Before I Do

Posted on November 17, 2007November 18, 2007 By sweet surrender 17 Comments on Before I Do

Went to Holiday Inn this afternoon for the Before I Do bridal fair. *LOL* It was supposed to be only 4(me, Jimmy, Pazuzu and Allen) of us going but other bloggers(Angel and Tim) and Edwin(I got to know him from Facebook, first time meet him. Nice to meet you!) came to join us too! Hehehe… Since there were quite a number of them bringing DSLRs, the staffs thought they’re the press but they’re all too honest to say NO πŸ˜› As for the rest, we all had compact digital cameras stand-by on our hands. We were give a press release also! It’s supposed to be posted by the press πŸ˜› Well… Maybe I should post it up in catscity.net but so long… I lazy type… No need lar πŸ˜›

We took so many photos and playing around with our cameras. We wanted to take photos of the fashion show but… After wasting about almost 2 hours there waiting… We were told that the fashion was rescheduled tp 6pm! Disappointing!!! πŸ™ Then later, we were told that it’s rescheduled to 7pm! WOW! Some decided to left, some decided to stay. We left.

Ok… Let’s see what we managed to do there:

We weren’t sure whether we could go in or not. Angel lead the way and hehehe… Only the girls got the goodies bags and a stalk of rose each. We are also required to sign the guestbook but not compulsary, just need one representative to sign hehehe…

Hi-tea was served today at 2pm-6pm! Hehehe… FREE food and drinks!! πŸ˜›

Some of the booths.

The table settings for various styles.
Left: Malay style
Right: Western style.

Left: Chinese style.
Right: Fruit carvings.

Fruit carving demo.

This is the best part! Wine tasting! πŸ˜› We took many photos there and stayed at this booth for quite long. The girl poured me a glass of wine to try but… Hehehe… I don’t know how to drink. She told me it’s the best wine for beginners. I looked at it, smelt it and when I want to drink, I just couldn’t stand the alcohol smell! πŸ˜› So I gave it to Allen to drink.

The decorations up there and the stage backdrop.

Left: Disappointing! No fashion show! πŸ™ Instead, they had makeup demo. Took some shoots but not so nice, nothing mcuh to take also.
Right: Some ice carvings, this is the dragon and the phoenix.

Back home, I dug my goodie bag. There are postcards, brochures, key chain, discount vouchers, a small basket of sweets and an envelope. Angel opened her envelope on the spot and found more postcards. I opened mine at home.

GUESS WHAT?!?!? See the photo on the right! I won something from I-Bell!!!! WOW! “Congratulation” Hehehe… The letter sounds not so good, I mean the English. I can get discount for photoshoot there! I can opt for wedding package or personal package or family package. The offer will end next year April. Hmm… should I book with them? Since the Personal package is RM688 and I can get RM200 discount. I’m not that fond of taking photos with other bridal studios except Alvin’s but since I got this offer… Hmm… Really… Should I go for it or not? πŸ˜› Can’t made up my mind. I just need to fork out RM488 but I’m not sure what they have in that package. Still got time to consider hehehe… Tell me… Should I go for it?

Went to Old Court House just to cover this Health & Wellness Expo 2007. Here’s some photos to share with you.

My conclusion? Pathetic… I don’t think many people will visit. Kinda boring… Summore not enough publicity also. Maybe it’s just not my interest.

Manage to get a goodie bag from a fertility clinic from West Malaysia *LOL* There were some brochures and a pen in there.

By the way, you can donate blood there πŸ™‚

I’m quite late in posting this. Actually the news was out last week. I was waiting for someone to send it to me but he didn’t tell me about it as well until I found out about it myself last night at my friend’s(the reporter) blog. Then, lazy post it up again hahahaha… Then Josh posted it in Advertlets already… I guess I should post it up also hehehe… I’m the person in charge of CatsCity.net *LOL* actually I’m just one of the person in charge, the other one didn’t want to show his face in the newspapers because he said that he had enough fame already *puke* hahaha… Click to read it or just to see photos if you can’t read Chinese.

Inter-Cultural Mooncake Festival 2007

Posted on September 23, 2007September 23, 2007 By sweet surrender 6 Comments on Inter-Cultural Mooncake Festival 2007

Went to Carpenter Street on Friday night. Took some photos but mostly not clear. It’s was so hot and humid because of the stupid haze! This event will end on the 25th September, started on 19th. It’s quite short compare to previous years.

Left: Riddle called “deng mi” in Chinese. So many people there trying to solve the riddle.
Right: So many people!!! Celcom was doing promotion there too. See the “x” in the middle of the photo? They walked around with that thing to promote. So funny.

Left: Some stalls.
Right: The lanterns at the temple. Light up the temple, very colourful.

This was quite funny, the guy wore the mask and trying to grab the attention of those walking below. Then out of sudden so many cameras pointed at him. When everyone done taking photos, I went closer and he posed for me, so funny. He sure does like to camwhore, see the “v” sign that he displayed. Hahaha…

Left: Walking musicians, they walked to everywhere, anywhere to entertain people around with English oldies.
Right: Maison Monica Academy has a stall there that provide haircut for only RM1(if I’m not mistaken). They are done by the students, the familair faces that I saw at Circle of Amour Snow Queen Contest. I mean the stylists not the models πŸ˜›

At the Old Court House.
Left: Some rides for the children.
Right: The bonsai exhibition.

Left: Bonsais and the trophies.
Right: Decorations around the Old Court House.

Left: Art exhibition by young artists. This year, no camera is allowed. Why? That’s why I couldn’t show you any photos.
Right:The Harmony Arch.

Left: BBQ vegetables.
Right: Hehehe… Saw the colourful balloon among the red lanterns.

That’s all for Friday night.

Went there yesterday afternoon for the Largest Charity Mooncake Sale.

Managed to take some photos of the art exhibition but taken through the glass. It’s not open during day time and no food selling during day time also.

Lastly, there are also have some stalls that let you play some games to win some prizes. You haveto pay of course.

Basically, that’s all about the this year Inter-Cultural Mooncake Festival.

Largest Charity MoonCake Sale @ Carpenter Street

Posted on September 22, 2007September 24, 2007 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on Largest Charity MoonCake Sale @ Carpenter Street

Damn! I’m so kiasu! Hopefully I’m one of those first few who post about it! Hehehe… Went over to Carpenter Street just now Apple, Cherry and Jimmy. We tried to take some photos of the mooncake making but too bad we couldn’t go in. It’s only open to the press.

Hehehe… Then I saw my friend’s colleague who is in charge of the event. Hiak… Hiak… Hiak… I asked him to go in and take some shoots for me! YAY! Thanks… You know who you are πŸ˜›

The tent that was set up last night for the mooncake making process. They are doing the snow skin mooncake. The chef and the assistants are from Hoi Tin Lau. The proceeds will go to SCCS(Sarawak Children Cancer Society), SAA(Sarawak Autistic Association), and Sarawak children suffering from AIDS(Sarawak Family Planning). I’m not sure how they will be selling it. If you are interested you can go there to ask them about it.

Left: Took this from the corner. Since we are not allowed to go in, we just flip the tent entrance a bit and took the shoot.
Right: Up close of the mooncake. They are moulding the skin.

Here’s another shoot. πŸ˜› Enjoy! Hahaha… I’m so kiasu!!! Remember you see this first in SweetSurrender!

Went there last night too but will post the pictures later, still editting πŸ˜›

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
