From a Culture of Violence to a Culture of Peace: Transforming the Human Spirit @ tHe Spring

Posted on October 10, 2008October 10, 2008 By sweet surrender No Comments on From a Culture of Violence to a Culture of Peace: Transforming the Human Spirit @ tHe Spring

It’s been a long long time not updating about events in Kuching.

Went to tHe Spring just now with my parents. Since I’m there already, decided to check out “From a Culture of Violence to a Culture of Peace: Transforming the Human Spirit” exhibition. Basically it’s about against war, nuclear, violence, and all bad things that people do to the world that cause choas to innocent people like you and me.

It’s organized and sponsored by Soka Gakkai International (SGI) and Physicians for Peace and Social Responsibility (PPSR). They make sure that all visitors are entertained as in there are many staff there to look out for anyone that has no “guide” and they will explain to you and guide you tru’ the whole exhibition.

The last part will be signing the petition.

After you had signed, you will be given a red sticker of a bird and you will stick on this poster anywhere you like.

Quite an interesting exhibition and I do encourage you to go. Remember to sign the petition! πŸ˜‰

Happy Mid-autumn Festival 2008

Posted on September 14, 2008September 15, 2008 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Happy Mid-autumn Festival 2008

Ok… What’s your plan today? Me? Later I have class to attend. Nothing much, no lantern to play also hahaha… Haven’t eat any mooncake today but since 2 months back we’ve been eating a lot of mooncakes hahaha… There are still one more box not open yet. Most mooncakes especially in the fancy boxes were given my people, we don’t buy such thing ;p

So… Let me feast you you with some mooncakes:

From my aunt. Only managed to take photos of these two as I was around. The rest don’t know where they had gone to that’s why no photos hahaha…

From my sis’ friend. Haven’t eat yet :p

The only mooncake my dad bought from his friend’s son’s bakery. It’s called Hokkaido Kelp, hmmm… Not much comment about it, just like any other mooncake, it’s sweet *LOL*

I don’t like mooncakes coz of the sweetness. Eat one small slice, one eight of it is fine, any bigger than that, I would not be able to finish it hahaha… I can never get myself to eat one whole mooncake on my own -.- it might took me days or even weeks to finish it hahaha…

Happy mid-autumn festival!

Inter-cultural Mooncake Festival 2008

Posted on September 13, 2008September 26, 2023 By sweet surrender 6 Comments on Inter-cultural Mooncake Festival 2008

WAH! It’s been raining every evening and finally there’s no rain last night. The Inter-cultural Mooncake Festival 2008 started on 10th but the first 2 nights rained so badly that I’m sure they couldn’t do anything much.

Last night, after attending my replacement class, I went there with my family. Traffic jam at that area but it’s not that hard to find parking. I didn’t bring my camera and ended up using my mobile phone for photos.

It’s very hard to take photos there with the crowd and don’t feel very nice taking photos of the stalls there when I’m not even buying from them. Bought nothing home hahaha… Here are some photos to show you.

Beijing Olympic Closing Ceremony Tonight

Posted on August 24, 2008August 24, 2008 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on Beijing Olympic Closing Ceremony Tonight

Catching the Olympic closing ceremony tonight!! Found CCTV1 hahaha… Will not miss the front part anymore. According to CCTV, they will start showing it live at 7.40pm+ but RTM will only be showing at 8.30pm means lots will be missed!

HATE IT! I missed the front part of the opening ceremony πŸ™ all because TV1 only live telecasted the whole thing at 8.30pm and before that, talked so much summore. Missed the countdown and the good half an hour.

Let me show you something to wrap up 2008 Beijing Olympic hehehe… It’s all the way from Beijing. *BLEK*

Parts of the packaging.

I picked the black one with Jing Jing on it.

Tested my camera with it πŸ˜› Hehehe… Thanks to Luke and Sandra for the souvenir from Beijing.

Toy & Anime Convention at tHe Spring

Posted on August 21, 2008August 21, 2008 By sweet surrender 12 Comments on Toy & Anime Convention at tHe Spring

Went to tHe Spring yesterday to find out about the Toy & Anime Convention. Goodness gracious! You called this convention?!?!? More like toy fair and only one small portion for anime, so misleading. Lots of toys on sale with discount up to 50%, is there 70%? No idea… Didn’t really go tru’ them.

There’s a remote control car track for remote control car lovers to play with.

There’s a new game called Nerf, some sort of like laser tag or paintball but this is using soft bullets. They have a Nerf Gun shooting ground that you can play for free. There’s even cards or block games like UNO or Jenga for you to play on the spot.

More toys and there’s also a small section for you to taste some drinks and junk food. If you are thirsty or hungry, go get some free food and drinks samples there πŸ˜›

This is the small section by SAMS of Swinburne. The so called anime section, just this small section. The figurines were so nice!! It’s not cheap, the students had invested a lot in it, it’s their hobby and they are showcasing their collection at tHe Spring.

If you would like to get toys or see these figurines, you can always go to tHe Spring on 20th-31st August from 10am-9pm.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
