How to Make Basic Pancake? (No Egg)

Posted on May 23, 2023 By sweet surrender No Comments on How to Make Basic Pancake? (No Egg)

This is a very basic pancake. Very simple to make. I’m sure many Malaysians or Singaporeans grew up eating this. Do you miss it? How long have you not eaten this?

The recipe I’m sharing here is without any eggs. Here’s the list of ingredients that I’ve used:
4 Tbsp all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp corn/tapioca flour
1-2 Tbsp sugar

Water (No measurement. I got about 350ml of batter after mixing everything. The consistency must be watery enough.)
Butter/oil for cooking

However, if you want to add an egg, it is not an issue too. Just add one egg, then reduce the water and adjust the consistency to your liking. There’s no hard rule to making this.

Lastly, have fun trying! Check out my YouTube channel and My Kitchen for more baking and cooking adventures.

4 Easy Milkshake Ideas for this Summer

Posted on May 13, 2023 By sweet surrender No Comments on 4 Easy Milkshake Ideas for this Summer

Here are 4 types of easy milkshakes that I made last month. The main aim is to clear the ice cream and milk at home. I’ve been putting off making it because I don’t have a blender. However, I have a food processor. So I tried using a food processor for my milkshake. It did work. However, I didn’t dare to add ice cubes as I’m afraid the machine won’t be able to blend ice cubes.

The food processor I’m using is PerySmith 5 in 1 Hand Blender 850W Easy Cooking Series PS850 in this link https://invol.co/cl57bt8

1. Oreo Milkshake

For this, you only need 3 ingredients. They are Oreo, milk, and vanilla ice cream. If you have a blender, add some ice cubes and blend them. It will not be so rich and sweet if you have blended ice in it.

2. Cinnamon Milk Tea Milkshake

This was “invented” by accident. Thinking of just making milk tea, but then I realized that the vanilla ice cream was still in the freezer. That’s how I ended up with this milkshake. No sugar added. The sweetness is from the ice cream. If you want it sweeter, then feel free to add some sugar.

3. Mango Milkshake

Got some mango pieces in the fridge. I froze them and blended them in the food processor with vanilla ice cream and milk. So simple and so delicious! You can even freeze them again and when you want to have them, you can blend and they became ice-blended mango milk. There’s no additional sugar added to this so it is not that sweet.

4. Oreo Mint Milkshake

Lastly, for this milkshake, I wanted to clear the chocolate chips mint ice cream, milk, and Oreo. Hence, I got this milkshake. So simple. Three ingredients only. It is very sweet and rich though. Therefore, feel free to add ice cubes and blend them together. Do make sure that your blender can blend ice.

Lastly, have fun trying! Feel free to check out my YouTube channel and My Kitchen for more baking and cooking adventures.

Easy Rice Cooker Black Glutinous Rice Porridge

Posted on May 2, 2023 By sweet surrender No Comments on Easy Rice Cooker Black Glutinous Rice Porridge

Finally got some black glutinous rice. Now, I can make black glutinous rice porridge. The lazy me decided to use the rice cooker for it. There is no soaking needed. It is as simple as wash the rice, then cook! The rice cooker does all the cooking. I just need to add pandan leaves and sugar at the last step. You can add coconut milk also but if you have people who don’t consume coconut milk, then prepare the coconut milk or cream at the side and let whoever wants it to add it to the porridge when it’s served.

8 Simple Delicious Raya Cookies Recipes 2023

Posted on April 13, 2023April 13, 2023 By sweet surrender No Comments on 8 Simple Delicious Raya Cookies Recipes 2023

How are your Raya 2023 preparations? Making any Raya cookies this year? Still thinking about what to make? I have 8 easy Raya Cookies recipes to share with you. I actually did them for CNY. However, you can also make it for the coming Raya celebrations.

1. Lemon Butter Cookies (No Egg, Less Sweet)

You can replace the lemon with orange to make Orange Butter Cookies. Feel free to use any mould or make any shape you want as long that it’s not over 4mm thick. Leave it in the freezer for at least 1 hour before baking to retain the shapes/patterns on the cookies.

2. Kuih Makmur (No peanut, no ghee, no egg, no sugar)

This is suitable for those who have peanut allergies or dislike ghee. I personally dislike the taste of ghee. Therefore, I’m using salted butter. I’ve tried various butter and margarine brands over the years. To me, Golden Churn gave the best taste. If you have a lactose intolerant issue, replace the milk powder with powdered/icing sugar or glucose.

3. Condensed Milk Semperit (Only 3 Ingredients)

For this recipe, if you do not have custard powder, just replace it with cornstarch. Also, if you have no semperit pump, just go ahead and shape it to any shape you like.

4. Cocoa Semperit (No added colouring, just cocoa powder)

This is actually the same as the condensed milk semperit above. Just add cocoa powder to the mixture and you are ready to go. You can even customize by making a matcha version or any other flavouring of your choice. There is no harm to be creative.

5. Salted Egg Semperit (Addictive, Sweet, and Salty)

Sweet and salty semperit that is very addictive. No colouring was used. Its colour is from the custard powder. The base is the same as condensed milk semperit and cocoa semperit (without the cocoa powder). Just need to add salted egg yolk powder to one of the mixtures. Either the white or the yellow one.

6. Brownie Crisps using Brownies Premix

This is so simple. Instead of making brownies, just spread the batter thinly and bake. You don’t have to worry about it going bad. Just need to store it in an airtight container. The tips and tricks can be found in the video. By the way, you can use any brand of brownies premix. All you need to do is follow the premix instructions and add 10ml to 20ml more water to it.

7. Salted Egg Cornflakes

Who doesn’t like cornflakes snacks? What’s more with salted egg flavour. So addictive. Why not replace the salted egg yolk powder with curry powder, cheese powder, chilli powder, etc?

8. Tomato Cornflakes

Something different. Tomato flavour! As simple as adding tomato sauce to it. Can even mix it with chilli sauce. Be creative! Replace it with teriyaki sauce, BBQ sauce, hot sauce, rendang/curry paste, etc.

Let me know after you’ve tried any of the recipe out.

Easy Brownies & Brownie Brittle with Brownies Premix

Posted on April 4, 2023April 4, 2023 By sweet surrender No Comments on Easy Brownies & Brownie Brittle with Brownies Premix

Did you know that you can make brownie brittle or brownie crisps or brownie cookies with brownies premix?

I got a box of Dr. Oetker Nona Brownies Original Premix. Instead of making one big brownie, I split the premix in half. I made brownies and brownie brittle with it. To make brownies, you just follow the instructions on the box, half the ingredients needed and you’re good to go.

The video below is about making basic brownies with the premix. You can use any brand that you like.

Next, I made brownie brittle with it. The whole process was a bit messy and didn’t go as planned. Luckily, it still turned out well. It is not difficult at all. You might want to make the batter a bit more watery for easy spreading. Don’t be afraid to add some more water. Just start with 10ml first and gauge the runniness of the batter. If cutting is needed after baking, make sure that you do it fast while it’s still warm. Otherwise, it will be quite a challenge to cut it into pieces.

Have fun trying.

Check out another brownies premix from Dr. Oetker Nona Brownies that I bought.

So far, all the brownies premix from this brand that I bought is foolproof enough. No failure at all.

I have also tried its chocolate cake premix. Here’s the link, Tried & Tested Dr. Oetker Nona Moist Cake Chocolate Mix.
