Oh dear… No wonder my face is so itchy. The skin on my face is flacking now! -.-” Sun burn… Lesson to learn… Don’t walk without any protection under the afternoon sun, Umbrella is important even if you have all those UV filtering stuffs on your skin, you still need umbrella!

Went for breakfast at the hotel coffee house(will talk about it in other post). I took my sweet sweet time to eat my breakfast hehehe… I was still quite tired, didn’t really sleep well as I always have problem with hotels’ air-conditioning. I was thinking of staying in my room the whole day, too lazy to go out. After breakfast, I went back to my room for shower. Then it’s about 11am+, I looked out of the window to see where else I should go or just stay in the room. Then I remember my other friend who’s joining the same event as Jimmy told me that the stadium is near the hotel, about 10 minutes walk only. Just followed the direction of post office and TM.

I remembered also the bellboy did mention something about City Fan in the map. I was so curious about what was it all about. I thought it’s some sort of windmill *LOL* I decided to venture out at the end though my legs were still painful.

I walked to the post office direction and came across the flower garden of Miri(left). I thought of going in but then changed my mind, thinking that I would visit it on my way back since it’s so near to the hotel. At the end… I didn’t hehehe… as I used another road and totally forget all about it.

I walked, walked, walked and I saw a building(right).

I was quite relunctant to go there but at the end I went in as I saw some activities going around that day, book exhibition and some sort of jumble sales. I didn’t know that Miri City Fan is just next to the Miri Civic Centre!! 😛

After looking around, I was thinking of getting out of the building to hunt for City Fan. Then… I saw the small park at the side, I thought maybe I should just walked over to have a look as I have plenty of time.

LO & BEHOLD! I saw a buidling(left)! The architecture was quite nice. Then the small park was actually a very big park that leads to that building!

I saw the signboard and I realised that I’m in City Fan!!! Oh my! What a luck! If I didn’t walk into Civic Centre, didn’t go over to the “small” garden, I would ended up back at the hotel! 😛 Hahaha…

I walked towards the building and at the same time took some photos around. I still couldn’t figure out what kind of building was that. Something strucked me… I think it’s a library! Hahaha…

Continue snapping photos. Seahorses again. There are gardens with different themes there, I could only recall the Chinese and the Islamic ones.

Left: Indoor stadium where Femine 30 Hungry For Hope was held. The participants were required to fast for 30 hours, they could only drink water. Jimmy and one of my friends from Miri joined it. You can read more about it in Jimmy’s blog or English version in CatsCity.net

Out of City Fan, saw a signboard and just took a photo of it for no reason hahaha…

Then, I continue walking again as I saw Imperial hotel already! Hehehe… There’s a short cut actually but I opted for the longer road which is the main road. The short cut seems very quiet with lots of bushes. *SCARY* Must not take that road. I passed by the mosque(right) on my way back.

Finally reached the hotel. Went to my room to rest for a while. Then decided to have my lunch in Imperial Food Court(I think this is the name :P) that was closed the other night. Too tired to go any place. Ordered sweet & sour chicken rice(RM3) from one of the stall called Hainan Chicken Rice. I noticed that many eateries in Miri are Halal unlike Kuching.

After my lunch, I walked around Imperial Mall and explored the shops that I didn’t manage to explore the night before. I noticed that almost every shopping complexes in Miri have one shop specialised in sex/adult toys 😛 Hehehe… You dont find them in Kuching shopping complexes.

Back to my room at about 3pm+. Wanted to charge my camera but there’s no socket for the two-pin plug that my charger needs. Tried so many ways to get it in but all couldn’t work. My camera could still last tru’ the night so I’m not so worry. I continued to online and room service came, I let them do their work while I online and the lazy me actually asked them for a multi-plug and they got it for me hehehe… Who knows!??!?! It couldn’t be use, I thought it’s spoilt so I told the room service lady and she passed it over to her supervisor. Her supervisor tested it and came back to say that the plug was fine, so I tried it together with her and still couldn’t be used. We concluded that the socket was spoilt and she called the maintenance department.

I was thinking of going for swim at 4.30pm and because of that I waited for the maintenance guy to come. They came at around 4.30pm, fixed it about 15 minutes later. Then after they left, I quickly changed and go for my swim and sauna hahaha 😛 So enjoy! I’m paying for it what?!?!?

At night, Jimmy new found friend agreed to bring us around Miri for dinner and tour Miri. He brought us to Pelita Hai Ma Food Court or the area is fondly known as 2020 because of the coffeeshop nearby called 2020 hahaha… Pelita Hai Ma Food Court is open 24 hours with various type of food serve ranging from Western to Chinese food.

I was craving for western food… So I ordered mixed grill(left), only RM15, protion quite big, I think it’s quite reasonable. It consists of fish fillet, lamb chop(very tender and juicy) and chicken fillet. I didn’t finish the fried fish fillet and the baked beans. 😛

Jimmy ordered clay pot pork leg rice(RM5). This crazy guy actually ordered such filling and greasy food after starving for 30 hours. I’m sure his stomach would have problem digesting it. At the end he couldn’t finish his food. Wasted…

After dinner and chatted with another friend of Jimmy that came to join us later, his new found friend took us for a ride and drove up to the new flyover of Miri hahaha… He drove us to Pujut, Piasau, Lutong, Luak Bay etc. too many places(I couldn’t recall where else), basically cover the whole Miri. Oh my! Curtin is so far away!!! It was dark so nothing much can be seen. We also passed by many “castles”. Hahaha.. Those houses(we rather refer it as castles) were so HUGE! Compounds are HUGE too! Goodness gracious… Miri is the place for you to see huge ass houses that cost more than millions or even billions.

At about 11pm+ he sent us back to hotel. So tired… That’s day 2 of my Miri trip. I practically dragged my feet the whole journey -.-” Couldn’t walk properly hahaha…

Oh my… I’m so tan after exposing to the afternoon sun in Miri for two days!
My legs are not painful anymore. It’s not that bad after all since I don’t exercise hehehe… I was expecting that the pain might last for few more days. Phew…

Found out that my camera had taken more than 20K photos since January last year.

After about 1 hour flight, we reached Miri Airport.

After I got my luggage, we bought taxi coupon from the counter, it cost us RM18.50 per trip. I think it’s quite expensive. Oh well…

I’m sure you will see seahorses everywhere in Miri just like you see cats in Kuching. Hehehe…
The building in the photo is the place where I stayed for 3 days 2 nights. It’s called Imperial Hotel, a four-star hotel. I will have a post dedicated to this hotel later.

Left: After checked-in, we couldn’t go to our room yet as we were there early. So we left our stuffs there and went out to scout for breakfast. This is just opposite Imperial Mall, below Metro Inn. It’s called 28 Food Centre. There were so many people having breakfast there so we figured that this might be one good place that serves good food in Miri.

Right: Teh C Peng and ice barley, total was RM3. The drinks are expensive. You don’t get this price in Kuching.

Left: Special beef noodle(RM5). Again… Expensive! Not special at all, it’s just normal beef noodle. I can get something like this back home for less than RM4.

Right: Wanton(RM2), this is the cheapest food I came across in Miri hehehe… The portion and price are quite reasonable, taste wise… Nothing to rave about.

Left: The food centre I mentioned just now. When we’re almost done with our breakfast, the receptionist of Imperial Hotel called me up to tell me that my room was ready and to check with me what time I will go back there to get my room keys. I told her about half hour. Right after breakfast, we went back and got our keys. It’s around 9.30am that time. Tell you more in later post.

Middle: Mega Hotel. I would say this is the most prominent hotel of all! Hahaha… This is due to its colour and location. I could see it everywhere I went. This hotel was in fact my guideline to not get lost in Miri city centre. *LOL*

Right: Soon Hup Tower aka Mega Hotel. It has a small shopping centre in there. Quite small. Hmm… I can’t find a shopping place in Kuching to compare it with. Hahaha…

My initial plan was to go to Bintang Plaza as suggested by my friend because it’s quite near to Imperial Hotel. I walked the wrong direction and headed to Mega Hotel *LOL*(blame the map!) I asked the guard and he told me it’s at the other side where I could see a McD signboard. -.-” Then I realised that I saw the signboard from my room! How stupid?!?!? So… That’s Bintang Plaza… I walked back to that direction.

I forgot to take photos of the building, it was so hot. I didn’t bother to take any, all I want to do was to go in and take shelter from the hot sun. I window shopped, thought of buying some clothings or accessories but after seeing the prices -.-” I would rather go back to Kuching to buy hahaha… Summore, what you can get there, you can get in Kuching also. No point… The only two things that I bought was a blister pack of Panadol(just in case) from Guardian and a bottle of RO water(my water finished already) from Watsons.

Then it’s almost 1pm, I decided to have my lunch. I couldn’t find what nice to eat in there so I ventured out to the shoplots nearby. Nothing much also. So went back into Bintang Plaza and went up to the food court. Not much choices too… Economy fast food everywhere but I hate economy fast food, I would rather go home to eat rather than eating this here. So I ordered Nasi Lemak ala Kampung(RM3) from one of the stalls. Guess what??!?! Oh my… The soup was so salty with lots of pepper -.-” Imagine warm water mix with salt and pepper, that’s how it tasted.

After lunch, I was thinking of going to Boulevard as my friend had suggested, I thought it’s nearby hahaha… I asked a girl at Bintang Plaza, she told me that I had to use bus or car, there’s no way I could go there on foot.

So… Decided to walk to other places, no idea where. Then I remember I passed by Miri Handicraft Centre, I decided to pay a visit there and hoping that I might come to a museum or something interesting hahaha… It’s just few stalls selling Sarawak handicrafts -.-” Took a brief stroll there and left.

The map given by the hotel was not very useful. Not even a single legend in there, I couldn’t figure out what were those landmarks. All I did is identify the road names to figure out where I was hahaha… I walked to the direction of every high rise building that I could see hoping to find at least a place for me to window shop but none 😛

Left: Yu Lan Plaza hehehe… I was drawn to it. I walked there and then I told myself, enough is enough, I should go back now, it’s so hot and my legs were getting more painful. Instead of crossing the road, I took the overhead bridge. Guess what?!?!? This is the one and only overhead bridge in Miri! Too bad I didn’t take any photo of it. If I knew I would.

Middle: On my way back, I saw Hide-A-Bean, a foot massage parlour. Such funny name. It reminds me of the story of a princess and a pea. Hehehe…

Right: I was standing in the center of the road, actually just below a traffic light. Waiting to cross the road. Boy! It took quite a while for the traffic light colour to change. Hahaha… I’m just outside of Soon Hup Tower. I wanted to cross the road to the rows of shops that you see here as there’s another building there called Interhill something-something behind hahaha… Trying my luck to find a shopping complex again but it’s not 😛 No photo for it.

I could see Imperial Hotel again so I just walked towards the hotel direction to go back.

By the way, since I’m walking alone, I came across many perverts. Everywhere! No kidding! So much of wolf whistling and teasing from those working in the shops to those from the cars or motorcycles! Damn! I felt like throwing a bomb at them.

Back in my room, man… My legs were so painful and I didn’t feel like walking anymore, I just want to sit. It was about 3pm+(I think…), I on my laptop and started to online until 5pm+. Went to swim and sauna until around 6.30pm.

After that, I went to get my dinner thinking that there should be a food court in Imperial Mall, went up to the top floor, its CLOSED! -.-” Went back down and only found KFC, didn’t notice there’s a Sugarbun in another floor, way at the end.

Bought KFC and had it in my room while watching NHK channel. Then I realised the lady didn’t give me my 2 cents change. Ah… Forget about it, I’m too lazy to go back. Then I found out that there’s no plastic spoon provided. How to eat the mashed potato and coleslow?!?!? Luckily there’re teaspoons in my room. After I’m done with my dinner, I was thinking to just stay in the room to rest and online or watch TV but it’s not even 9pm, I dragged my feet down to Imperial Mall and window shopped at Boulevard Imperial. Was thinking of buying some clothings and accessories from there too but after seeing the prices -.-” Better go back home to buy the price is either the same or slight few cents more pricier *LOL* I thought Boulevard should be cheaper compare to Parkson at Bintang Plaza. So dead wrong 😛 At about 10pm+ I went back to my room and online.

So exhausted, I found out that one of my paid post will expired the next day -.-” Oh dear… I quickly wrote it and took me more than 1 hour to get such short paid post done. So tired that my brain couldn’t work.

At about 12am+ I went to sleep…

Hello people! I’m back from Miri already! Only manage to online now. So tired, need to get some rest. So many paid posts need to write, so many posts need to update, so many photos need to resize & edit. Oh dear…

Just 2 hours before the flight, we managed to visit some places of interest as my friend who is still down with chicken pox(not fully recover) drove us around Miri and we managed to take some photos. He was supposed to go back to work but got “kicked out” because they said that he’s not fully recover *LOL* Since he’s free so he brought us around and sent us to the airport. Save another RM18.50 😛 It was raining but luckily when we reached a place, it would be just drizzled or stopped! Quite lucky.

More update coming these few days! I feel dizzy now -.-” My legs are very painful too…

Ok… Just a brief update. I’m so tired after the whole walking around thing. My friend is down with chicken pox and I ventured out alone under the scortching sun as I started at about 11am and got back to the hotel at around 3 something in the afternoon. I just walked! Only about 1 hour of stopping, that’s when lunch time. Was walking without any aim, any road that was in front of me, I just walked and didn’t know that I actually walked that far already.

Went to the airport before 6am, and off I’m on my 7.10am flight.

I wanted a window seat but I forgot to request hahaha… I seated on my assigned seat first and see who would be sitting at the window seat and then I’ll ask for a change hehehe… YAY! I got it hehehe… Actually the guy’s seat was behind and was seated by other people since he came in late, the narrow legroom was really hard to let him access the window seat so I asked him whether I could sit there, luckily he said ok 😛 hehehe…

It’as about one hour flight. We took a taxi to Imperial Hotel that cost us RM18.50. I haven’t take any photos of the airport yet 😛 Also I didn’t take photos on the way to the hotel. I forgot :p Still sleepy actually.
