My Boots

Posted on May 12, 2011May 12, 2011 By sweet surrender 5 Comments on My Boots

Just a quick post to show you the boots I’m wearing here. Bought it from Boulevard Mega Store few weeks before I left, only RM45.50(if I recall correctly, definitely below RM50). Found it under the display table ;p I shipped it here to Adelaide and it took 2 months to arrive together with all my stuffs. Finally my boots are here! Don’t have to rely on my sports shoes anymore.

Can also wear it this way but so far I haven’t wear it out like this because it’s cold out there.

I didn’t expect it to last but it did! Hopefully I don’t jinx it or else I have to spend money to buy a new one =.=”

Wearing it almost everytime I’m out, walking in it all over Adelaide city ;p. It’s sufferring from scratches here and there already, not that shinny anymore. Gonna polish it with shoe polish when I manage to get hold of one.

Only now I know how to appreciate boots ;p Great for autumn and winter, spring maybe but definitely not summer.

Aqualabel Moisturizing Range

Posted on May 7, 2011May 7, 2011 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Aqualabel Moisturizing Range

I joined th Aqualabel contest few months back and I won. We’re required to review the product after using it for 3 weeks. It was sent to my home in Malaysia and my parents sent it over to me here in Adelaide. The air here is dry and it will be a great location to test this range out.

Left: The full-size bottle of Aqua Enhance MO. This is our prize. The other 3 small bottles are for us to test for 3 weeks.

Right: The travel kit consists of Moisture Lotion R, Moisture Emulsion R, and Aqua Enhance MO.

Here’s my verdict:

Moisture Lotion R: Love the feel on my skin. I can instantly feel that my skin is soften after patting it on.

Moisture Emulsion R: This is bascially the moisturizer but sadly it’s not moisturizing enough for me, If not mistaken this is for combination skin still it doesn’t suit me. My skin was secreting oil at the end of the day. Not suitable for the dry air here I guess. Maybe if back home it will work.

Aqua Enhance MO: This is the key product that we’re supposed to test out. I like how it feels on my skin. Can feel as if the skin is infuse with mositure. It helps lock in the moisture. The smell is similar to the lotion (I think… ;p)

This is the sequence how I’m using it:-
(Morning) Lotion – MO – Emulsion – Sunscreen
(Night) Lotion – Emulsion – MO

I tried using it the other way round too for the morning routine, Lotion – Emulsion – MO – Sunscreen, but also not giving me enough moisture.

Since the emulsion doesn’t suit me, I went back with my usual moisturizer. It works better this way. I could feel that my skin is soften and there’s no dry spots visible. So it works. Also, no breakouts! That’s good news as I’ll get breakouts usually when I’m using new products that are not that suitable.

One down side though… The fragrance is a bit too strong for me except the emulsion.

Aqualabel has a wide range of products for different needs. If I recall correct, the pricing start from RM38. You can get it easily from Watsons around Malaysia.

Sukin Facial Moisturiser

Posted on March 15, 2011March 20, 2011 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Sukin Facial Moisturiser

Ann told me about Sukin Facial Moisturiser last year. I decided to give it a try. It’s not available in Watsons Kuching but it’s available in some Watsons in KL.

In Kuching, you can get it from The Health Circle at tHe Spring. It’s RM39.90 (if I’m not mistaken). I did some research and found out that it’s slightly cheaper in Singapore even after conversion. I didn’t get it in Kuching after knowing that Watsons at Bugis Junction does stock Sukin products. Since I’ll be there and didn’t need it that urgently, I decided to get it in Singapore. Was pretty lucky, they were having year end sales that time, there’s further discount and at the end this moisturiser only cost RM20+ after conversion.

This bottle is pump bottle which contains 125ml of moisturiser. However, there’s no lock for the pump. Luckily it didn’t pump out when it was in my luggage. I used it immediately that night after I bought it. I didn’t see any difference at all but it absorbed pretty quickly and I love the smell!

I’ve been using it for almost 3 months. Frankly it does nothing much, it’s a very basic moisturiser without paraben. The texture seemed thick but when it’s on the face, it’s quite light.

Sukin is organic product made in Australia which is very affordable. You know how organic products can be very expensive.

This daily moisturiser provides fast absorbing, deeply penetrating hydration that softens and soothes skin.

A lightweight cream which combines a delicate infusion of aloe vera, horsetail, nettle and burdock to soothe with skin healing rosehip oil, wheat germ, jojoba and avocado oil to promote healthy skin renewal and help minimise the signs of ageing.

Application: After cleansing, gently massage into face, neck and décolletage.

Suitable for all skin types.

I usually applied liberally all over my face, neck and décolletage at night. Then I would massage it until it absorbed. In the beginning, it was really nothing at all, as if it didn’t even work at all. Was kind of dissapointed with it but being me… Not wanting to waste, I decided to live with it until I finish it up. Only until now I’m feeling some difference on my skin. After applying it, the skin felt like it’s hydrated enough. Also, I don’t think I see any dry spots now. Haven’t seen any since I started using it. Good news I guess.

Overall, it’s an affordable organic product and it hydrates my skin. A very basic moisturiser. Great to use when you are suffering from some sensitive skin moment. If you are looking for something more than hydration, this is not for you. This is the down side so I have to use it with other products in my skincare routine. When I’m lazy, this is good enough for me.

You can check out more products from Sukin in their official website (www.sukinorganics.com.au).

I think I’ll be using a lot of its products when I’m in Australia since it’s quite affordable and won’t burn a hole in my pocket as I heard that skincare products in Australia are pretty expensive especially those imported brands and many people actually stock up their skincare products when they come back to Malaysia before heading back to Aussie.

Bioglo Rose Essence Sleeping Mask

Posted on March 7, 2011March 7, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on Bioglo Rose Essence Sleeping Mask

Bioglo Rose Essence Sleeping Mask is from Cosway. I saw it in the catalogue in December but only managed to get it in January because there’s no stock available here. Normal price is RM36 for East Malaysia but I bought it at introductory price of RM27.50. The bottle contains 70g of sleeping mask.

The night-time hours are perfect for restoring your skin with intensive moisture and nourishment.

Bioglo Rose Essence Sleeping Mask is a specialized cream-gel mask applied just before bedtime. It drenches your skin with Rose Water essence and nutrients from Aloe Vera, Olive & Ginkgo Biloba extracts and Grape Seed oil to intensively moisturize and nourish skin while you sleep. Its light, aromatic Rose scent creates a perfect state of relaxation and tranquility for a good night’s sleep.

Wake up to incredibly dewy-soft, supple, rosy-radiant skin the very next morning.

The mask smells so nice. Love the smell of roses.

What is sleeping mask? It’s the mask that provides you with the nourishment and treatment to your skin while sleeping. Apply a thick layer on the face and go to bed. Wash off in the morning and proceed with your usual morning skincare routine.

I felt the difference on the first application. I woke up with soft and supple skin, it’s so nice to touch. I used it almost every night for the first two weeks. Now, I only use it 3 days a week.

For example, I had my mask session using Cellnique Advanced Bio Renewal Masque. After that, it’s my usual routine of skincare. I will apply Bioglo Rose Essence Sleeping Mask before I sleep. I will continue to apply it the next 2 nights. Then, I’ll stop until another weekly mask session.

In fact, whenever I had the mask on my face, I didn’t really get to sleep that well because my face felt sticky. It’s OK that it’s sticky but I was worry about getting it on my pillow when I’m asleep. However, in the morning, most of the time, not much mask left on the face, whatever absorb was absorbed, left just a film of stickiness. Area with no stickiness was likely rubbed on the pillow when sleeping. That’s the down side of it. Just have to get used to it.

With such down side, I still can live with it because my skin feels so nice in the morning. The feel does last the whole day. Also, it’s the cheapest sleeping mask I could find so far.

It’s great for those sleeping in air-con room too.

I guess it will feel really nice too if it’s refrigerated, will be great for those hot nights or during summer.

Overall, it does live up to my expectation. I’m likely to buy it again when I run out of it.

Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Mist

Posted on March 3, 2011March 3, 2011 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Mist

I bought Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Mist after I finished up Avene Thermal Spring Water Mist(didn’t blog about it but it’s quite good I must say, it soothes my sensitive skin when it got too sensitive/itchy and also cool down my skin during the very hot days).

I don’t see or feel any difference Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Mist made to my skin, kind of useless to me. Quite pricey but I bought it at discounted price which was RM30 and below. The normal price is around RM30 if I’m not mistaken.

I usually use it after toner if I’m not using Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion as toner to replenish some moisture into the skin before using moisturizer.

The bottle is good enough for you to put in your hand carry if you’re boarding a plane because it’s only 40ml and it’s not in aerosol can. Guess it might be useful when you’re on board since the air is very dry.

In conclusion, I won’t buy it again.
