OPI Nail Polish Serena Glam Slam RED SHATTER E55

Posted on December 5, 2011December 5, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on OPI Nail Polish Serena Glam Slam RED SHATTER E55

Looking and hearing so many people talking about the shatter nail polish, I always wanted to have one but never get to buy one because it’s expensive. Don’t want to spend too much money on nail polish.

Few weeks back, was feeling down and I decided to go on Ebay to see if there’s any nail polish colour that I want to buy to cheer myself up. I’ve been using the same colour for month and wanted a change.

Found shatter nail polish listed in Ebay for only USD8.75 (inclusive of postage). There’s so many colours to choose. I ended up choosing Serena Glam Slam RED. It finally arrived last week.

Did not know how to use it the first time. Found it a bit hard to use. Messed up everything. So I went online to find how to apply it. That night, I tried it again. BINGO! Got it!

The base colour I’m using is Maybelline Forever Strong +Iron in MAUVE ON & ON. The top coat is Express Finish.

It took me awhile to get used to this shatter nail polish. It looked horrible when first applied but the more I looked at it, the more I like it but not on all 10 fingers. I’m having it on all 10 fingers now and kind of regret applying to all of them. I prefer to have it on alternate fingers.

How to apply?
One layer of shatter on top of our base colour is enough. Try to cover the whole nail in one stroke. The brush is enough for me to cover the whole nail in one stroke albeit giving me all the messiness but at the end of the day, those not on the nail can be easily remove. Use whatever you have on the brush instead of getting rid of the excess at the rim. It’s not like normal nail polish. Let it dry thoroughly after applying and you’ll see the magic. You have to be really fast too. Don’t have to worry about the imperfection as once it cracked, it makes no difference. Once it’s fully dried, don’t forget the top coat, it’s a must! Also, make sure the base coat is really dry too.

It will take multiple attmepts to generate the desired effect. Practice makes perfect. Thick layer and thinner layer will have different outcomes.

Those on my fingers, I considered it a success, this is the second attempt. While those on my toes, it’s not what I had expected it to be because I experimented it on my toes after failed the first fingers application ;p

All right! Exam tomorrow. Then I’ll have my holiday (not really a holiday, just study break, still have to work, need to do the project back home that I need to continue and also casual work here to earn extra money for my Korea trip). Less than a month, I’ll be in Korea! Will get to experience snow!! WEEE!!!

Kose Salon Style Precious Head Spa Heat Damage Protector

Posted on November 7, 2011November 7, 2011 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Kose Salon Style Precious Head Spa Heat Damage Protector

Bought Kose Salon Style Precious Head Spa Heat Damage Protector with spa water and botanical extract from Sasa.

In Kuching, I seldom blow dry my hair or apply heat to it. Here… I have to blow dry every single time after washing my hair, can’t let it air dry because it’s too cold! I figure I have to get something to protect my hair from the almost daily blow drying. So decided to get Kose Salon Style Precious Head Spa Heat Damage Protector during my Sasa spree. It cost me USD8.80.

The smell was nice. The after effect was impressing. My hair is more manageable after using it. It felt softer too. Sometimes I applied a bit to my dry hair to tame some flyaways. Not sticky or oily at all. I do recommend this, it’s quite reasonably priced too. Don’t have to use a lot.

Oh, it’s made in Japan in case you’re wondering.

Kao Japan Liese Bubble Hair Color Dark Chocolat

Posted on October 26, 2011October 26, 2011 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Kao Japan Liese Bubble Hair Color Dark Chocolat

I bought Liese Bubble Hair Color Dark Chocolat after seeing Anna‘s post in Facebook ;p Thought of changing my hair colour but I can’t afford to get it done here, sooooo expensive! Also, I don’t want to spend my money in buying the hair coloring kit here even though it’s below AUD20 ;p

I decided to try this out by searching for it on Ebay and bought a box for USD16.49, well… More expensive than what I can get here as sometimes when it’s on special, you can get it at AUD10. Problem is, this brand is not available here. In case you’re wondering, it’s made in Japan.

The box consisted of:
Hair Color Agent 1 40ml
Hair Color Agent 2 60ml
Treatment lotion 4ml
Pump Head
Gloves

Anyway, finally I coloured my hair with it on Monday evening. Spent 2 hours in the bathroom for everything.

My first time coloring my own hair. It’s quite hard to do it in the beginning but once I managed to get the mixture covered my whole head and the bubble getting more, it’s quite easy. You don’t need to get help from others unlike the usual ones. It’s just like shampooing your hair so you can easily get everything covered without missing any part. After getting the whole bottle of mixture on my head with lots of bubble, I left it for 30 minutes and then wash it off. After that, I shampooed and used James Brown Intensive Mask for Hair for the treatment. Then, I applied the hair lotion included in the box before blowing my hair dry.

I bought Dark Chocolat reason because I’m afraid that bright colours might got me into trouble if I didn’t manage to colour it properly. Also, I didn’t want major change of colour, so I went for the safer colour hahaha… Not only that, when it grows out, at least it’s not that obvious since I won’t be cutting my hair maybe until I go back to M’sia ;p

The smell is pretty strong. It teared me when I did it in the beginning. Once I got used to it, it’s fine. However, at the end of the whole thing, my whole apartment smelt of the dye hahaha…

By the way, I did the allergy test(need to leave it for 48 hours) on Friday night and I didn’t pass the test. I applied the mixutre on my inner arm, not even 10 minutes, it itched like crazy and I quickly washed it off. According to the instructions, I should not proceed with colouring my hair yet I took the risk. I’m soooo stubborn! Luckily nothing happen, no itchiness or anything when I did the colouring. Hmmm… Don’t say I never warn you. If you decided to use this and had allergy reaction(s) to it, better don’t use it.

The final result, I quite like it. Not that obvious unless under bright light. The effect is just what I want to achieve. So… Camwhore!

It’s been a loooooong time not posting my photo hehehe… This is fresh out from the camera, was taken on 25th Oct before heading to class. As you can see, the colour isn’t that obvious but my hair is definitely not black anymore.

I do recommend this hair colouring kit but it doesn’t provide grey coverage. Not that I need that, I don’t need that. Just that in case you are looking for something to cover your grey hair, this is not the one you can use.

If not mistaken, you can easily find this in Malaysia. It should be cheaper than getting it online.

Will I use this again? I will but just hate the process because colouring your own hair can take quite long and quite tiring *LOL* I’m soooo lazy hehehe…

Haruhada Collagen Moisture Cleansing Water

Posted on October 24, 2011 By sweet surrender 1 Comment on Haruhada Collagen Moisture Cleansing Water

I did a skincare product shopping spree last month from Sasa because I’m running out of some skincare products and also want to try new products instead of buying it here. That way I can use my Paypal money and leave the cash I have here for food and entertainment.

One of the items I bought was Haruhada Collagen Moisture Cleansing Water:

Haruhada Collagen Moisture Cleansing Water contains soluble collagen and malva extract to effectively remove face and eye make-ups. It hydrates and nourishes. The easy-to-absorb product leaves skin totally moisturized after use.

It’s 500ml! Big bottle! Good! Made in Japan. Can last me for awhile. It’s priced at USD13.90. It’s considered quite reasonable for such big bottle with such price. Some more you can’t find this product here, even if you can, it’s gonna be more expensive. Skincare products here are expensive!

I’m glad I made the right decision to buy this. It really removes makeup effectively and it said that you don’t have to wash it off, just one step cleansing but being me… I will cleanse the second time with my normal facial cleanser during shower. It can remove waterproof mascara with no problem at all! YAY to that. Means I don’t have to get a separate makeup remover for my eyes. This is another reason why I got this because my Mandom Cleansing Express Eye Makeup Remover is running out soon as I’ve been using mascara almost daily here. Also, the word “collagen” attracted me hehehe… I need it!

It’s not oily at all if you are afraid of that. I hate oily makeup remover, not good for your eye area too. After cleansing, the skin felt fresh, not sticky too.

I do recommend this. If you are looking for something effective and not burning a hole in your pocket, you can consider trying this.

Elizabeth Arden Intervene Stress Recovery Night Cream

Posted on August 27, 2011August 27, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on Elizabeth Arden Intervene Stress Recovery Night Cream

I managed to get hold of a sample tube of Elizabeth Arden Intervene Stress Recovery Night Cream.

BEAUTY WINNER: Best Night Cream – SELF HEALTHY BEAUTY AWARD WINNER 2009

Nighttime is the best time to INTERVENE. This lightweight, intensive moisturizer with Biodorminâ„¢ technology and a youth preserving complex revitalizes the look of skin while you sleep.

Works continuously throughout the night to help skin recover from daytime assaults and defend against the visible effects of stress on the skin.
Wake up to skin that looks younger, relaxed, revitalized and radiant.

I was told I only need to use very little, spread a thin layer over the face after toner at night. It absorb so quickly, the skin was so nice to touch. However, it’s not moisturising enough for me to use it alone. I would end up with oily skin few hours later or in the morning. So I will top it with my normal moisturizer after using it.

The effect was amazing. I woke up with soft and supple skin. However, it’s pretty expensive (almost RM200 if I’m not mistaken) for me. I don’t use such expensive skincare product. Since, it’s not moisturizing enough for me so I wouldn’t consider in getting it even though the effect was as promised. At the end, it’s still the money that counts *LOL*
