Money Or Quality?

Posted on October 22, 2007October 23, 2007 By sweet surrender 13 Comments on Money Or Quality?

First of all, sorry for all those paid posts lately. There will be more to come but I will make sure I come out with good non-paid posts. I really can’t help it, there are so many offers for me lately. My blogs contribute to more than 85% of my income. Hence this leads me to this topic.

Also I’m currently out of things to blog hahaha… I don’t want to feed you with my emo or personal posts. I’m keeping it to myself for the time being unless until I can’t stand it and almost explode ๐Ÿ˜›

Ok.. I’m sure you know that many people started blogging because of the opportunities to earn money from it. You can’t find many bloggers that don’t blog for money anymore. Everyone will at least take part in one money making program. I know you do this too! Don’t tell me you don’t! You are not a Saint! We’re all evil in blogsphere. Almost all of us are going into the dark side of blogging already. You are no better than me ;p you are not qualified to lecture me.

I know some people have a blog with more than 50% of the content are ads! Do you think there will be people visiting it? Do you think you will even visit it? Usually I don’t visit a blog that has more than 50% of its content filled with paid posts or those that posted their sponsored posts continuously without any non-paid post(s) in between. I don’t mind contextual links in a non-paid post or some will prefer to call that a sponsored post too.

WAIT! I’m not here to teach you how to blog before some suckers trying to shoot me by saying that I’m in no good position to criticise the way they blog. I’m just stating my preferences of blogs that I visit. We all like to say this – if you don’t like it, just get out of here! That’s what I’m doing to blogs that I don’t like. I won’t bother to go back the second time unless the blog really has very good blog posts then I will be sponsored posts blind.

I always make sure that I have at least one non-paid posts in between a sponsored post. I am trying to maintain my quality of my blog, I don’t want it be a blog that fills with ads though I know that by having sponsored posts are enough to downgrade my blog quality… Well… We usually will hear this remarks from those Saints. They are just jealous. I don’t care! I have my own way to rate whether a blog is worth my visit or not.

Sometimes I have to control myself from writing too many sponsored posts if I really can’t come out with anything good to write. I limit myself to a maximum of 3 posts a day. If a blog has very fast posts turnaround, many readers will have problem following it. The 3 posts might be laid in these patterns:
Sponsored-MyPost-Sponsored or MyPost-Sponsored-MyPost
Regardless of the TOS of any money making program, I will do this.

Besides that, I also do this to programs that only required a link and not a post:
MyPost-MyPost(with contextual link)-MyPost or MyPost(with contextual link)-MyPost-MyPost(with contextual link)
I make sure that each post will only have one advertiser link only instead of multiple links as this is obviously breaching their TOS.
Update: Oh ya… I’m not referring to Kontera or AdBrite as you have no full control over where you want to have it and how many links to appear in a post, its all automated. What I’m saying is the tasks that are assigned to you and you have to do it manually and submit it when it’s done.

This is how I maintain my quality. Sometimes I’m quite picky when selecting a task to write. At least for this blog. Hahaha… For my other blogs, I will just take any task that is available but I also make sure that I follow the way I laid out my sponsored, non-paid posts and also non-paid posts with contextual link in my personal blog.

I can guarantee you that no one will visit a blog with tonnes of sponsored posts. If you have the ability to write a sponsored post that doesn’t look like a sponsored post, then you are really good! I salute people like this. However, if you are just like anybody else… Ah well… I will say that you won’t be getting much loyal visitors except maybe your own friends.

I even know some bloggers that even started blogs that only meant to write sponsored posts, the whole blog is only sponsored posts!! Believe it! Hahaha… I won’t say that it’s wrong, it’s your freedom anyway. It just won’t be a place that I will return to. Obviously I don’t think you will even mind about the traffic to that blog of yours, all you care is the money. Right?

Whatever it is, it’s your choice. However, many newbies must know that to earn money from blog is not easy. The money will not fall into your hand just like that. You have to do something about it before you start making money from it. You must have certain establishment and commitment before you can make it big. Just see those popular bloggers out there, they started sincerely as a Saint before turning evil hahaha…

How about you? Do you go for the money and ignore the quality of your blog? I can tell you that I’m doing my best to maintain my blog quality at the same time making money from it. In fact if I don’t care about the quality, I can make a lot more than what I’m making now but I still have my integrity and still sane enough not to be blinded by the delicious money. Such a good girl ๐Ÿ˜› Don’t leave me OK!?!?! I need you, without you I can’t come this far.

MUAKS! Love you all that have been staying with me during my thicks and thins.

WOW!!! Didn’t realise this post is so long ๐Ÿ˜›

Remember This Sweet?

Posted on October 20, 2007October 19, 2007 By sweet surrender 10 Comments on Remember This Sweet?

Hehehe… I remember when I was still a little girl, very little, I used to consume a lot of this sweet. I think many of us who were born in the 80’s and late 70’s were stuffed with these sweets by our parents just to get us to settle down or to bribe us to be a good boy good girl hahaha…

I have no idea I much I ate already. I never like the taste but still eat whenever it’s given to me hahaha… If eating it now, it will remind me of my childhood and how old I am already… -.-“

Do you realised you are an adult now? Struggling to find a spot in this complicated world. Things are not as simple as when we were kids. Kids nowadays are facing more challenges than we were facing last time. How much has the world changed?

Negaraku (Rap Version)

Posted on July 21, 2007July 21, 2007 By sweet surrender 17 Comments on Negaraku (Rap Version)

Here’s a reminder to you…

Date: 21st July 2007(TODAY!)
Venue: Bestberry Cafe
Time: 3pm-6pm

PLEASE PAY FOR YOUR OWN FOOD & DRINKS

You will be given a surprise! Provided you be a good boy or good girl hehehe… ๐Ÿ˜›

Actually I wanted to post this long time ago but just wasn’t not in the mood to do so. Only those that know mandarin will know what it means else you won’t be able to make any head or tail except our national anthem with different tempo. Here’s the video of Negaraku(rap version).

This video is very controversial. I’m not very impress with what this guy is doing. He even dare to end it with “don’t sue me”. It’s wrong to do that to your national anthem. There is no country in this world that will tolerate this kind of thing! You deserve to be sued!

I know many people salute what he’s doing, agree with what he’s doing but so sorry… Not me. I know our country is not perfect and I do agree with all the things he sang in there but there should be a better way to do it and not this way. It doesn’t matter how much you dislike your country, how corrupted or whatever it is, you are welcome to compose whatever song to show your displease and ugly side of your country but this is not the way for you for making fun of the national anthem. National anthem is something very important to a country else why does everyone stand still or you put your right hand to your chest when the national anthem is playing? This is the simplest act of respect that you should know.

There’s a limit to everything. Imagine if you make fun with other country’s national anthem, they are not going to be happy with you also and will definitely sue you. When you are using our national anthem to make fun of your country, what do you think those foreigners will be thinking? They will be thinking that Malaysians are disrespectful. It might be intended to show your displease of the country, indirectly you as a Malaysian will also be given bad name for it. Every country has their fair share of corruptions, political woes and so on, that’s life.

It’s very simple theory. Something that you have to respect you must respect. It’s like you must respect your elders. You dare to direspect them? You show your disrespect to the elders in front of other people, what they will think? They will think that you “bo ka si“(parents never teach). Then who you put to shame? Your parents of course! Indirectly, no one will respect you as well.

Enough said! You deserve to be sued as you are putting the country’s integrity and image at stake! You are putting me to shame too for being labeled as disrespectful citizens in the eye of the world.

Google Adsense SUCKS!

Posted on June 20, 2007June 20, 2007 By sweet surrender 24 Comments on Google Adsense SUCKS!

So early in the morning yesterday, I got a mail in my mailbox saying “Google AdSense Account Disabled”. SUCKSSS! If you had noticed that my Adsense was gone yesterday(unless you are ad blind like me), that’s why. I don’t trust Adsense anymore! I thought this thing will never struck me and finally it does after hearing my friends complaining that their accounts were suspended when they almost reached USD100! I know many people are making a lot from it but not me, it took me almost 3 years to get me to reach almost USD100. The last time I checked somewhere last month was USD80+. Adsense! You sucks! Why don’t you suspend those people that can make fast money from it instead of suspending me the small fish that took years to reach USD100!?!??!

Here’s the e-mail content if you are wondering(Ah well… I’m sure you are familiar with it, everyone got suspended got the same e-mail except changing the name of the recipient):

Hello Irene Law Aii Ling,

It has come to our attention that invalid clicks and/or impressions have been generated on the Google ads on your site(s). We have therefore disabled your Google AdSense account. Please understand that this was a necessary step to protect the interests of AdWords advertisers.

As you may know, a publisher’s site may not have invalid clicks or impressions on any ad(s), including but not limited to clicks and/or impressions generated by:

– a publisher on his own web pages

*CUSS* Hmmm… Don’t tell me no one does this! I admit that I did click on it but not always, only God knows how long it took me to find an interesting ad for me to click. I clicked because it’s something that interests me. That’s what advertising is! No? Fine, I’m guilty for this and it’s enough for your to suspend me! Fine! At the end you are still acting very unfair to me but NUH~ this will not affect your credibility at all as you have many supporters. I’m just the minority, a small insect in the huge spiderweb. Since you suspend me for this, then you should go suspend every single members of yours! I can even guarantee you that 100% of them ever clicked on their own ad before either accidentally or intentionally. I know of people that kept clicking their own ads every so often yet they are getting their cheque and smilling away. You IDIOT! You are giving out money to those that don’t deserve even a single cent from you and your advertisers! Now… I’ve several referrals too, all gone! Thanks to you! Feel so stupid by referring my friends to you for free.

– a publisher encouraging others to click on his ads

*CUSS* I did not! If I did, I would have made USD100 in no time! It took me almost 3 years and it’s not even USD100 yet! Yet some people can make this amount in months only. SUCKSSSS!!!

– automated clicking or surfing programs, or any other deceptive software

*CUSS* I don’t even know any program like this! What the heck is this? If I did, then again… I would me making hundreds of dollars in no time! Why till now still not yet reach USD100?

– a publisher altering any portion of the ad code or changing the layout, behavior, targeting, or delivery of ads for any reason

*CUSS* I alter what? Changing what layout? Maybe a bit of the width and height and the colours? Then, fine! I’m guilty. I’m not even like some people that have their scripts pasted in a way where people can accidentally click on them!

These or any other such activities that violate Google AdSense Terms and Conditions and program polices may have led us to disable your account. The Terms and Conditions and program polices can be viewed at:
https://www.google.com/adsense/localized-terms?hl=en_US
https://www.google.com/adsense/policies?hl=en_US

SCREW YOU! You don’t need to show me these! Go show those people that are taking your money and laugh all the way ILLEGALLY. STUPID! IDIOT! MORON!

If you have any questions about invalid activity or the action taken on your account, please do not reply to this email. You can find more information by visiting https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=57153.

Sincerely,
The Google AdSense Team

One the other hand, now my blog has less ad already and can loads even faster!

The Truth About Sarawak

Posted on June 13, 2007June 13, 2007 By sweet surrender 15 Comments on The Truth About Sarawak

Hahaha… Must be wondering what is the truth about Sarawak right? You know I had this conversation with a net friend from Penang on MSN the other day and I really don’t know to kek si(angry till die) or to chio si(laugh till die).

He: Eh! Are you near to Labuan?
Me: Hmmm… It’s up, up, up there. I have to fly all the way there, you say near or not? It’s in Sabah.
He: Sabah? You not in Sabah meh? You told me before you are in Kuching.
Me: Yes, I’m from Kuching but I’m not from Sabah and I had never set my foot there till now. Since when I said I’m from Sabah?
He: Kuching not in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah meh?
Me: *almost fall down from chair* ~.~” Nooo… Kuching is in Sarawak.

I’m sure many East Malaysians ever encounter this sort of conversation before. Very classic one… This leads me to the tag that Monkey tagged. Actually it started by Clare.

It’s just for fun ok? Don’t get upset by it. You think we are not upset when you asked us questions like this? We did but since it’s a never ending story so we think it’s better to play along rather than getting upset since high blood pressure cases are increasing nowadays we better don’t let it shoot too high.

Q: Oh, you are from Sarawak! *eyes wide with excitement* So far away! How you people come here ah?
A: Fly here of course.

Q: Plane? Got airport?
A: You don’t know we have our own helicopters? We have our own helipads and hanger at home also.

Q: You guys not living in jungle/or trees meh?
A: We live in jungle but don’t live on trees. We do not need to live on tree because we have many lands. Trees are only for those that don’t have any land.

Q: Got Internet?
A: Got. We use wireless one, super duper fast from satelite one. Else how we update blog? How you think Kenny Sia can be so popular?

Q: I heard that the road there not very good right? Must have 4×4?
A: Yealo so bad till even go to the nearest supermarket or grocery shop also have to drive. We have a lot here such as Land Rover, Land Cruiser, Pajero, Prado, X5, you name it, you see it everywhere. We also have own helicopter too when we want to go somewhere futher like KL.

Q: You guys have electricity or not?
A: Got. We use solar system one.

Q: Sarawak got Malay?
A: Sarawak is in Malaysia, what do you think?

Q: So, you guys there got Sultan?
A: Then we will have Agong from Sarawak.

Q: Sarawak people can speak English?
A: *LOL* Are we talking alien language now?

Q: Got Astro?
A: Astro? No need lar, we have free satelite TV! Uncensorred one summore from all over the world. Why pay so much money for Astro?

Q: Water there clean or not?
A: Clean, crystal clear, we don’t need to spend money to install filter at all.

Q: I heard people there hunt for head. Really?
A: You not scare I chop off your head now?

Ok… Done. These are all I can think of. I’m sure you(East Malaysians) also encounter quite a lot. Take this tag if you want. The questions do not necessary be the same as mine, you can add in new ones. By the way, please track back as I want to read about what you write also.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
