Ten Ichi January 2009 Promotions

Posted on January 5, 2009January 5, 2009 By sweet surrender 6 Comments on Ten Ichi January 2009 Promotions

It’s new year! Chinese New Year coming very soon too, in less than a month! WOW! How time flies… This month Ten Ichi is going to continue bringing you their monthly promotion.

Lots of salmon this month!

Salmon Harasu Maki(RM16.90, normal price RM26), salmon and maki lovers must not miss this. I really like it.

Salmon Karaage (RM19.90, normal price RM30.00), I don’t really like this though, just not my type, the texture is weird and a but to wet for my liking. However, I’m sure salmon lovers will definitely want to try it out as it’s something different.

Sushi Handroll Set (RM9.90, normal price RM24.00), I love handroll! Here you can see baby octopus(there are two inside, not small), salmon skin(it’s crispy), and Hiyashi Wakame. Worth it!

Salmon Teriyaki(RM15.90, normal price RM24.00), it’s medium rare, I love it! You can also opt to order a bowl of rice for it or just eat it on its own.

Salmon Ankake(RM16.90, normal price RM26.00), I like this too. Again, you can either have it on its own or order a bowl of rice.

Lastly, this set is great to share with at least two friends.

Salmon Izakay Set(RM22.90, normal price RM35.00). Luxurious don’t you think?

They are available everyday.

Remember to do reservation to avoid disappointment and don’t forget there’s contest this month when you spend at least RM50 in a single receipt. You will sure win something.

Pizza Hut Flavours of the World 2

Posted on January 4, 2009January 5, 2009 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on Pizza Hut Flavours of the World 2

Missed Pizza Hut Flavours of the World and now it’s Pizza Hut Flavours of the World 2.

Was supposed to go for seafood lunch on Christmas day with my family but Pending Seafood Center was packed! We ended up at Pizza Hut.

Decided to try out this new menu which is only available for limited time only.

We ordered World Flavours 3.

What else I can say? The drink tasted like we’re drinking toothpaste hahaha… No lemon slice in there, they used the syrup instead. We thought they gave us the wrong drink.

Then the soup was sour. Asked them why? They said it’s new batch of chicken soup. We were not the only who inquired about the sourness though ;p Don’t worry, the sour is not the “bad” kind of sour, you just need to get used to it.

Nothing to say for the bread. It’s the same as it should be.

As for the pizza, I think it’s OK, edible but nothing to rave about, just maybe a bit spicy for some people. Then, there’s no lime given to us also, we almost thought it’s wrong pizza also hahaha… I think they already squeezed the lime on the pizza that’s why.

I almost forgotten to post about this hehehe… There you go. Our Christmas lunch.

Mini Bloggers Dinner @ Sarawak Club with Minex Jewellery

Posted on December 31, 2008January 1, 2009 By sweet surrender 9 Comments on Mini Bloggers Dinner @ Sarawak Club with Minex Jewellery

Remember the treasure hunt? As a token of appreciation from Minex to some bloggers and friends for helping them to promote the event, Ben decided to treat us for a dinner after I jokingly stated that whoever got sick searching for the treasure under the rain can ask Ben to boil chicken soup for them ;p The joke turned out to be real that Ben decided to treat us “chicken soup”. Lukcily it’s not just chicken soup, no chicken soup but got chicken meat hahaha…

Last night, we were all dressed up to gather at Sarawak Club. My second time to Sarawak Club. First time was more than 10 years ago, went there swimming with my friend. This is the first time I step into the new Sarawak Club after the fire few years back.

Must camwhore! If not wasted my time for dressing up hehehe… I’m so glad my hair behaved so well last night. Amiey and I, we(Amiey, Cyril, Jimmy and I) were so early! 😉 We reached before 7pm.

Finally, everyone arrived and it’s time to order food and drinks. We had our dinner at Hornbill Restaurant. Ben booked two tables for us.

The fact is that I was expecting a private room hehehe… This is because after organising so many bloggers’ meets, I know that bloggers are usually the loud bunch and also camwhoring bunch. When I saw that we were seated in the main hall, I was thinking to myself, “OH… OH… This is going to be interesting! I hope it won’t get Ben into trouble”.

It really got so noisy that I think the table behind us was suppsoed to have a peaceful family dinner ended up got distracted by the noise from the other table hahaha… That table got so many stares last night from the diners. *SWEAT* Before they left, we were told by one of them that we could have the hall to ourselves as we were the last ones to leave, paiseh…

I’m sure it’s an eye opener to Ben and Varena. Usually people pray before they eat but we take pictures before we eat. Then we camwhored a lot! Imagine all the cameras last night, luckily not many flashes else it sure got on the nerves of the diners there. Hehehe… The other table was noisy and ours were quite quiet but with many camera’s clicking away! I actually camwhored with the DSLRs that I could get my hands on ;p

According to Michael, our table was filled with “old” people and his table was filled with “young” people that’s why our table wasn’t happening *LOL* The youngest at our table was Amiey who just graduated from secondary school and the youngest at their table got some secondary school students. See that? ;p

Some of the drinks(watermelon, honey dew, lime, and orange juice) and the menu.

Ben & Varena sure fed us to the max ;p Was so full that I couldn’t sleep last night. The food was really tasty! Usually food like this won’t get much comments from me because I got so fed up of eating these kind of food already but those we had last night sure blown me away. Yummy… Yummy… CRAP! I’m craving for last night food now -.-”

The food and drinks here are reasonably priced but it’s only for the members, not public. If only we can get such nice food and such prices out there in the market. Too bad… No… If you want to dine here, you have to know someone in here to get you in. You can afford the food but you sure cannot afford the membership fee. It’s a private club what, what do you expect?

Now… I have to dig the menu out to see what Ben & Vanera ordered last night. I’m not so sure whether they are corect or not even with the menu hehehe…

Left: I can’t find this in the menu, it’s sweet corn soup.

Right: Special Hot and Cold Combination, this should be it as I can’t find others that fit the name well. The sushi’s wasabi tasted odd, the boxing chicken is nice but i had problem eating with chopsticks and ended up using my fingers *BLEK*. As for the rest, I got nothing to say.

Left: You come here, you must eat the Buttered Prawn. They are famous for their buttered prawn. It was indeed nice. I thougth it came with the shells but no shell at all.

Right: Lamb Chop Szechuan Style, it’s nice. I love it, the meat is very tender.

Left: Seriously, I have no idea what this is, there’s mango, there’s jellyfish, there’s chicken meat with mayonaise and the crispy chicken skin. My guess according to the menu is Roasted Chicken Thai Style because of the mango in there. Something special and different, I like the skin.

Right: A type of beancurd dish, I’m not sure what is this! Really, I can’t find which name suits it in the menu. Could be Homemade Beancurd?

Left: Baby Kailan with Garlic, very fresh vegetable and crunchy too but too bad was quite full and managed to eat some only.

Right: Palm Fruit & Longan, very sweet!!

Group photo before we leave.

Thanks for the dinner Minex.

The Tarot Cafe

Posted on December 29, 2008January 5, 2009 By sweet surrender 10 Comments on The Tarot Cafe

Remember Two Bananas at Jalan Keretapi after Shell? It’s no longer in operation anymore. Now it’s known as The Tarot Cafe which is honestly far better than Two Bananas.

If you like to go to Bestberry, you will surely will like this place also coz it’s the idea of the same person(just the idea, the person isn’t the owner) who started Bestberry but Bestberry is now under new management.

The Tarot Cafe is air-conditioned(but when we were there during the opening, the air-conditioning units weren’t working) and the wall is uniquely decorated with framed tarot cards.

The menu is big and heavy but packed with lots and lots of nice food and drinks. These two drinks are from The Tarot Drink menu. It’s specially formulated based on each tarot card. The normal menu also has other type of drinks but it’s not as special as The Tarot Drink.

We ordered Strength(RM6.90) and The Fool(RM7.90). The menu has full descriptions of each of the card.

Strenght consist of soda, lemon and mint leaves if not mistaken.

The Fool is very rich! Coconut milk! So sinful and “hot” with lots and lots of longan and also sago. I love this. recommended. If you are on diet don’t go for this or else you will be really a fool for piling up all the fats in your system.

The food we ordered, Tarot Yam Rice(RM4) and Tarot Nyonya Curry Chicken Rice(RM5.50). Portion is big enough. I was so full! Taste wise, I’m not so sure, all I know is that they are edible, nothing much to comment about them.

Great place to hang out with friends as I really love their drinks selections.

What’s so special about this place is that, this is not a cafe only, there’s a Tarot Room if you would like to get your tarot reading or asking about things such as love, finance, life and more. It costs RM30/consultation, appointment is needed, you can call Chris Tan at 016-8648435 or email to tarot_chris[at]gmail[dot]com. She’s a certified tarot card reader and she also provides Feng Shui consultation.

She did demo something to us, it’s about your current financial status. I would say it’s pretty accurate. A piece of money is placed on each palm and if your money luck is good, it will form a “U” shape, the more curve it forms, the better your money luck is. If your right hand’s money forms a very big “U”, means money is coming in to you and if the left hand’s money is also forming the same big “U”, then it means you will spend a lot too.

Right hand means money in, left hand means money out.

You can join as member and get 10% discount everytime you go for consultation and also other benefits.

Of course, if you’re a Christian or Muslim, I wouldn’t recommend you to go for these things.

Anyway, the cafe is something different that you don’t get anywhere else in Kuching.

Koreana

Posted on December 28, 2008December 28, 2008 By sweet surrender 7 Comments on Koreana

First time go to Koreana at Premier 101. It’s a Korean restaurant. They relocated from opposite Hilton to Premier 101. If not mistaken this is the first Korean restaurant in Kuching. Heard of many good feedback about it.

Our drinks: Beer, green tea, and 100 Plus. Don’t remember the price ;p However, it’s reasonable.

These are the side dishes:

The kimchi wasn’t very spicy.

Kimchi-Chigei Soup(RM17), there’s taufu in there. Portion is quite small. It came with plain rice.

Left: Bi Bim Bub(RM17), don’t judge it from its look, the portion is big! 2-3 persons can share.
Right: Jjolmyun(RM17), first look it looked like belacan beehoon. The noodle is so springy and very hard to chew. Portion was big also. Can share this. Not spicy, it’s sweet but it’s very hard to eat. Each time I chew I felt like vomitting because it’s very hard to chew.

Remember that if you go there, do not order too many because most of the food portion are big.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
