Air Asia & Genting Highlands 5th January 2010

Posted on January 13, 2010January 13, 2010 By sweet surrender 1 Comment on Air Asia & Genting Highlands 5th January 2010

My very first trip with my parents. I mean going somewhere out of Kuching ;p

Flight at 11.50am. Weather was fine and flight was on time. Love the clouds.

Since it’s noon, we had lunch on board. First time pre-book the food. You can save 20% if you pre-book your food. Just present your boarding pass and you will be served. You will be served first before they start selling the food on board.

Left: Chicken Ham & Cheese Sandwich that was supposed to be roti canai but they changed their menu. Sandwich as it is.
Right: Bukhara Chicken Briyani, don’t really like it. It came with a small cup of water.

Wanted to claim my bro’s food which was nasi lemak since he won’t be going on the flight but the check-in counter girl said cannot… Wasted… Aih… I should have order the nasi lemak under my name rather than the roti canai.

Left: Chicken rice, not so bad. This also came with a small cup of water.

Right: We decided to go to KL Sentral instead of going to Genting direct from LCCT because it was too expensive! RM217!! We went to KL Sentral, paid RM27 for 3 persons. We wasted too much time waiting for the Skybus to start moving as the bus wasn’t full. Everything became way behind schedule.

Then took a taxi to Genting that cost us RM90. Actually only RM80 but since the taxi driver was so friendly and down to earth, my dad decided to give him RM10 tip. This photo was taken at a nearby petrol station as we went for the toilet.

The taxi sent us to the skyway station. The ride up there cost RM15 for 3 persons.

Luckily we took taxi else our room will be gone! We must check-in before 6pm and we reached the hotel at around 5.30pm. That was close! If we’re using bus, we won’t be in time. Furthermore it took us quite a while to walk to Theme Park Hotel from the skyway station because it’s very far away. The entrance wasn’t far from the outdoor theme park entrance.

The quad room I booked last year. Only RM78.80! What a steal! First World Hotel got very small room, less facilities, price was almost the same and only could fit 2 persons. Theme Park Hotel… 4 persons! Room was big and we got very nice view. Inclusive of breakfast for 2.

The pictures here do not justify the beauty though. What to do? I’m a lousy photographer ;p You really have to see it with your own eyes. Can’t wait to show you the sunrise view.

Pizzas @ Silhouette

Posted on January 10, 2010 By sweet surrender 3 Comments on Pizzas @ Silhouette

Had pizzas and kids’ meal at Silhouette last month.

These are in the kids menu, only RM15. In fact, the portion is quite big, it can be very filling for an average eater.

You can choose to have either Fettucini Carbonara with Meat Balls(very very creamy, I couldn’t stand the creaminess but those who like Carbonara will surely love it) or Turkey Ham Pizza with Fries(I don’t like the fries but I like the pizza).

I’ve been hearing a lot about Silhouette serving good pizzas but never got the chance to try until that day. It was good though some of them were pretty salty for me, they’re still good once I got accustomed to the saltiness. I missed out the Pizza Marinara photo, forgot to take the photo before eating it hahaha…

Left: I don’t remember what is this called. 😛

Right: Pizza Peperoni(RM21). The toppings consist of beef pepperoni, tomato, and mozzarella cheese.

Even Quackers TheDuck was there. Quackers was wondering how to savour the pizza with such big spoon, fork, and knife.

I have no idea what this pizza is called too. Sorry… However, I quite like this. You can make your own pizza. Since this pizza had olives on it, it might be customized as I didn’t see this ingredient in the menu for the standard pizzas. I always like olives on my pizza. Yum yum…

Pizza Napoli(RM19), I kept hearing the guys talking about this and seemed to like it a lot. I tried it and hmmm… It’s not bad when it’s piping hot. However, if it’s cold, the fishy smell could be quite a turn off. The toppings consist of anchovy, tomato, and mozzarella cheese. See… LOTS of cheese!

Pizza fans should check Silhouette out.

Farewell Dinner @ Top Spot

Posted on January 5, 2010January 13, 2010 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Farewell Dinner @ Top Spot

By the time you read this, I will be in Genting already. I’ll do live update via Twitter if I have the mood and time ;p

Amiey is now in Selangor continuing her studies. We had a dinner with her at Top Spot few days before she left. All the best and take care girl!

Left: The food Cyril ordered were from ABC Seafood. He paid for our dinner for that night. Thanks! 😉 We had a great night, it was quite a funny night, we laughed so much because someone was supposed to be on detox program actually got all the toxin in his brain ;p. We really wonder whether the detox worked or not *LOL*

Right: Bamboo clam cooked with curry. You can only get this clam during its season, you can’t get it all year round.

Left: Mixed vegetable with cashew nuts and prawns.

Right: Buttered prawn, quite nice. I like it.

Left: I don’t quite remember what this dish was. Should be sea cucumber soup. Not so bad too.

Right: O Jien, a bit hard to eat as they didn’t cut it into pieces.

Left: Lemon fried chicken.

Right: Midin cooked with belacan(I think…)

Overall, The food was good. We had lots of food, at least can feed 10 people but there were only 7 of us. The table was a bit too small to fit in all the food too. We couldn’t finish the food.

No group photo to share though coz they’re not in my camera.

After the dinner, we all got stuck at the parking place which was pretty frustrating. When I got back home, my Twitter was full with complains *LOL* Some of them tweeted while in the jam, it was quite funny in a way.

Thanks again for the wonderful dinner.

Christmas Eve Dinner @ ABC Food Centre

Posted on January 2, 2010January 2, 2010 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Christmas Eve Dinner @ ABC Food Centre

Our Christmas eve’s dinner was a last minute one. Being lazy and all, we simply headed out to somewhere near for dinner. Nothing fancy.

We went to ABC Food Centre, it’s located at Padungan, behind Public Bank and Eon Bank.

Every table were having a feast but we didn’t ;p We only ordered 3 things. Tomato noodle, kailan cooked with oyster sauce, and O jien. I forgot to take photo of the O jien, we waited for almost 1 hour for it -.-” Wanted to cancel it but when my dad went over, they were in the process of serving it already.

That’s all we had. Overall, the dinner cost below RM35 inclusive of two glasses of drinks.

Silhouette Guinness Christmas Menu

Posted on December 15, 2009December 15, 2009 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Silhouette Guinness Christmas Menu

Where can you get a pint of Guinness Draught and a main course for only RM35?!?! Believe it! It’s this affordable.

Silhouette at tHe Spring is serving Guinness Christmas Menu this December. The price is really unbelievable. There are two types of main courses for you to choose. All dishes are cooked with Guinness.

Left: Beef Stew, delicious beef chunks stewed in a gravy of Guinness Stout served with Baguette. Quite a lot of herbs and slightly spicy but it tasted quite nice. The beef was tender and juicy. I really like the gravy with bread.

Right: Lamb Chop, grilled lamb chops served with wholesome Guinness Gravy. I’m not a lamb chop kind of person because I hate cutting them when eating, too much of hassle. Usually I don’t order lamb chop, I would go for beef steak. Let’s not talk about the bones, you can’t eat it anyway. The meat was tender enough, not hard to cut and it tasted so good with the gravy. *slurp* I don’t mind the meat but not the bones ;p I will be very happy if I get lamb chop without bones but it’s not possible ;p

The portion of both dishes were quite big. If you’re an average or small eater, I recommend you to share this with at least 2-3 friends.

Left: You get The Perfect Pint with each main course.

Right: The satisfied diners. All full and happy.

It was my virgin experience with Guinness Draught. I only had few sips as I have no idea about my alcohol tolerance level because I’m not a drinker summore I drove. As usual… I got the itch about 2-3 hours later after that ;p

What do I think of Guinness Draught? I would prefer this than beer 😉 It’s much easier for me to drink compare to beer.

Oppsss… There’s typo in the photos.
