Chinese New Year 2007 – Day 3 (Group Visiting)

Posted on February 20, 2007February 21, 2007 By sweet surrender 3 Comments on Chinese New Year 2007 – Day 3 (Group Visiting)

It’s our group visiting session today! I miss it very much. It’s only once a year, only during CNY. Usually it’s on the 4th day of CNY but this year due to short holiday that most people have, many are going back to work tomorrow, we had the session today. However, not many people in our group this year. Many had last minute commitment. What to do? Short holiday, everyone was fully booked and you could only choose to be in one group. Unlike previously, you could go out with one group on the 3rd day, then another group on the 4th day. Too bad… Summore, 1st and 2nd day are usually reserved for family and relatives for most people. As for me? Hahaha… Anytime can do.

We had Nick with us this year. He’s always missing in our group photo as he’s working in KL and it’s not easy to meet up with him even if he’s back coz he has too many friends to entertain. Something special this year, Nick has moved to new house!!! We had Michael, Audrey’s friend, joining us. We started from my house instead of Lee’s. Lee Ling couldn’t make it this year. However, we managed to visit her. Hui Yee couldn’t join too. Had pizza at Khoon How’s house and everyone got hook on wasabi nuts at Nick’s house. Audrey joined us but we didn’t go to her house due to some unforeseen circumstances. We ended the visiting session earlier than the passed years.

Last but not least, our group photo

Back row(L-R): Michael, Audrey, Ann, Jee.
Front row(L-R):Khoon How, Nick, Me, Lee.

One more photo, yesterday’s photo. Taken at Alysha’s house. My face was so oily.
L-R: Jimmy, Me, Alysha.

I guess that’s all for CNY visiting posts. No more visiting plan, I think… We’ll see how tomorrow. It’s back to work for most people tomorrow. I should start with my work too 😛

Chinese New Year 2007 – Day 2 (I’m Old!)

Posted on February 19, 2007February 21, 2007 By sweet surrender 7 Comments on Chinese New Year 2007 – Day 2 (I’m Old!)

Went to a few houses for visiting. Visited Pinky, Alysha and Tan. Such a hot day today. Nothing much. Aren’t these cookies cute? The middle two bugs are chocolates. There are bumble bee and ladybird in the cookie tray too.

(-.-“) Do I look like I’m already married? Do I look that old? 🙁 Many thought that I’m still under age, this is not the first time I’m being asked this question by strangers usually when I’m in full makeup. Aiyoyoyoyo… Could be I’m in full makeup today that makes me look more mature. Eeeeeeeee… I’m old already 🙁 This question was asked by an aunty that visited Alysha’s house today. She asked, “You married already?”. I was thinking to myself, “Do I look that old? OMG!!” I just told her no, I’m not.

I can’t even imagine myself get married? I feel like I’m still too little to get married 😛 *LOL* coz I don’t look like an adult at all. I’m so small*LOL* I’m still a little girl hahaha… Imagine if I got pregnant. I’ll be like a little girl with bulging belly(-.-“). I really can’t imagine. Hahaha…

I’m sure when you are in your 20’s people will start to ask when are you getting married. I’ve been asked this question since few years ago. GOSHHH… I hate it! Some of my parents’ friends even said that they want to intro their friends’ son to me. I just shook my head. Don’t want to talk so much to them. No point. Besides, I’m not seeing them everyday, so I don’t care. Good thing it’s not my relatives that asked this. My mom sometimes also hints me about getting married. What the… *SIGH* I’m still very much single, no boyfriend yet, how to marry? You thought get married so easy? How many times I have to make the point that when there is no financial stability, I will not want to talk about marriage! YES! I told her this many times already. It’s getting on my nerves.

I’m old already *cry* Or I should not go out with full makeup so that I still look like a little girl 😛 Then some nosy aunties will not ask this kind of question to me.

Fireworks Feast

Posted on February 19, 2007 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Fireworks Feast

First of all, thanks to Cripsy for sending me this photo. Amazing! Such a great timing! This is how Kuching looked like on the eve of CNY.

I tell you… This is really putting the government to shame! Don’t you think so? Since when you can see fireworks shooting up from every nook and corner of the city? All these are all from the citizens, bursting all their money to the sky right from their own house. Lots of rich people don’t you think? Hahaha… Imagine how much will it cost the government to do this, blasting firworks from every corner of the city? It’s illegal act but seeing this photo, do you think it’s illegal? *LOL* Are the authority doing their job? Anyway, don’t you think this view is amazing? Priceless…

This photo is taken with Nikon D40 summore!!! *drool* Thanks to Crispy again. Happy CNY!

Interesting, Uniquely Kuching

Chinese New Year 2007 – Day 1 (Lion Dance)

Posted on February 18, 2007February 20, 2007 By sweet surrender 11 Comments on Chinese New Year 2007 – Day 1 (Lion Dance)

Before the clock striked twelve, there were already fireworks and firecrackers everywhere, these were just warm ups even though it rained, few minutes before 12, it’s getting more intense and lasted for almost 1 hour. Some shoots, no tripod, so don’t expect any nice photos hahaha…

I woke up at about 10am this morning 😛 Hahaha… Woke up at 7.30am and then went back to sleep. Around 2pm, I went to Jimmy’s house for a short visit before going over to Lee’s house to watch lion dance performance. We were invited to withness the lion dance by Lee. Even if he didn’t invite us, we would be visiting him too. Nothing to do at home. So bored. I’ve been visiting Lee’s house on the first day ever since few years back. Then second visit when we had our group visiting. I did mention that I’m going to hunt for lion dance this year *LOL* Now I got it! Here’s the photos to share with you, not much, just a few shoots coz the rest are almost the same.

The troop reached Lee’s house at 3pm and shortly after we arrived, they started. First they let off firecrackers to start the dance. The lions danced at the main gate and gradually into the house. I was choked by the firecrackers smoke. *cough cough* By the way, fireworks and firecrackers are banned in Malaysia but I don’t think anyone cares about the ban.

Inviting or to be exact hiring lion dance troop to dance at your house or shop or office is to bring in luck. You will pay them by putting the money into the red packet a.k.a ang pao. Usually people will offer pamelo and cabbage together with the ang pao. The lion will peel the pamelo and the cabbage, then take the ang pao(see the bottom right photo).

After Lee’s house, we went to Jimmy’s house. At about 6pm, we called it a day. I’m still not really in CNY mood -_-“
