Hehehe… See the new layout! Bye bye design number 8(picture on the left). I decided to implement it now. I can’t stand the messy sidebar of my previous layout anymore.

After months of modifications, finally it’s out! There are some glitches that I need to resolve but not much. Welcome to the brand new layout of Sweet Surrender! Enjoy your stay!

Going to update it to v9.0 hehehe… The 9th design. Usually I changed my layout once a year but this year this is my second change. This will last till next year end maybe…

Will still be tinkering around the layout until I’m satisfied with it. After this is done, I’ll try to upgrade my WordPress version.

Sabati Women’s Museum

This is actually a new museum, fairly new. It’s open not long ago. Located at Old Court House.

Nothing much to see but you can learn about the women in Sarawak that contribute their efforts in Sarawak’s education field to politics. My secondary school ex-principal’s face is there too and her face is display under two categories, education and politic.

She’s none other than Puan Fatimah(get to used to refer to her using Puan instead of Datin) hahaha… I really salute this woman, our school was nothing back then and when she came, it improved a lot and make quite a name for itself in various contests/fields. Besides that, our school experienced dramatic facelift also! She planted those flowers and picked up rubbish together with the students when we had weekly school cleaning session which every week several classes will participate in it. Sometimes when she’s free, she will do the gardening and picking up rubbish herself too.

She was only in our school for 1 year+ or 1 year? Can’t remember anymore hahaha… It was short but had changed a lot of things to our school.

Yesterday before going to Holiday Inn to collect my prize, went to lunch at Hainan Street Cafe. No idea where to go and saw this new place so decided to try it out.

Right: Iced barley(RM1.50), Snake Water(RM2.50). SNAKE!?!??! Hahaha… Actually it’s a type of Chinese herbal drink.


Hainan Chicken Rice(RM3.80 per set), ordered two sets. If you order more than 2 sets, you can mix the meat(steamed and roasted). The taste… The soup has very strong pandan flavour, the meat is tender at least it didn’t stuck between my teeth. Not so bad.

They have other food too such as Penang curry noodle, Cantonese fried kueh tiaw and so on. If yesterday I have such time to eat anything fancy, I would order the Penang curry chicken noodle or Mee Mamak. Next time go there again hmm… When? Hehehe…

The place is halal. Price wise, it’s not so bad. It’s located at the same row as Madam Tang’s.

Happy - Happy MomentsWOW! WOW! WOW! Something to be happy about hehehe… I’ve never win so many things in my life before, don’t even say in a row!

Ok… Let’s start with the first one. It’s not a contest, it’s a lucky draw. I didn’t know there’s lucky draw for the Before I Do Bridal Fair until yesterday the management of Holiday Inn Kuching called me up. The funny thing was they got my name wrong! Irene Chan!?!?! Chan?!?!? Is this a sign or what?!?!? *AHEM AHEM* I’m hinting somebody now 😛

Actually, this was how it went yesterday. I got a phone call:
Caller: May I speak to Irene Chan?
Me: Irene Chan? I think you got the wrong number.
Caller: Wrong number? Hmm… Ok…

Few seconds later, phone rang again:
Caller: Irene Chan please.
Me: Hmm… I think you got the wrong number. There’s no Irene Chan here.
Caller: Wrong? Hmm…There’s no Irene Chan.
Me: May I know where are you calling from? I’m Irene but I’m not Irene Chan, I’m Irene Law.
Caller: Law as in L-O-W? I’m calling from Holiday Day Inn Kuching.
Me: L-A-W. Holiday Inn?
Caller: Is your number xxx-xxxxxxx?
Me: Yes.
Caller: Do you remember Holiday Inn bridal fair last week?
Me: Yes.
Caller: I’m calling you to tell you that you won something from the bridal fair.
Me: Oh… So when do I need to collect the prize?
Caller: Tomorrow 2pm.
…

Funny right? YAY! I won something!

OMG! I’m so lucky! I got complimentary 3 days 2 nights deluxe room at Holiday Inn Glenmarie! It’s in KL!! It’s valid for 6 months means I can use it for my trip to KL next year! WOW! Already get free stay in Genting and now FREE stay in KL at Holiday Inn! It’s not cheap wei! WAH! I save a lot of money for this trip! I’ll be in KL for 3 days 2 nights 4 days 3 nights. But… But… I’m not familiar with KL, anyone can enlight me with how “near” and where it’s located? I think it’s quite far. It’s in Shah Alam! -.-‘ I found out that Sunway Lagoon is just 3KM away! Here I come! I’m going to go there for sure! For the last day, I’ll be staying at other place which I will need to pay of course.

OH MY! So happy! No need to find hotel in KL anymore!! No need to spend money on accommodation anymore! COOL! Oh! We are arranging a meet the fan session (bloggers’ meet)*LOL*, big one in KL next year! Proposed date is 11/1/2008. We’re still in the process of arranging it! I’m going to meet my fans there!! You come? You come? 😛

Next, I found out that I also win prizes from Advertlets for Colour Me Please post. I got new set of eyeshadows to look forward to now! Hehehe… I heard from my sis that these eyeshadows aren’t cheap in UK. WOW! Not only that I got other prizes also.

Hmm… Maybe I will run a contest for you to win it since I won’t be able to use it. Not sure how long is the validity. Will see how later…

ARG! Gone are my USD12 at 12.20am! Stupid blackout! That worths half year of my Sarawak Laksa supply!!! :p

I’m so late in posting this! Too many posts need to update and I almsot forget about this one! It will end on the 24th November.


If you want to do your part in charity, this is where you can do it. You have to bid on the paintings that you like. Of course the highest bidder will win. The proceeds will go to charity. They didn’t mention which charity.


If I’m not mistaken, the lowest bid was RM30. Can’t quite recall it.

Some paintings are very nice. If you don’t plan to bid, you can visit it and see some beautiful paintings that they have there.
