The Grand Unveiling

Posted on September 7, 2014September 7, 2014 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on The Grand Unveiling

The Veil Wedding Gallery, finally reopens after going through a facelift.

It’s an honoured to be invited to attend the grand unveiling yesterday.

All the imported dresses. I touched and felt them… Very good quality! You know one when you hold them. This is the kind of quality you should be wearing for your big day. Too bad those on displayed were very big in size. No size for me, even if it’s altered, it’s still too long and too big for a petite frame. Not 1-2 inches alteration for sure, it’s more than that and it can be problem. Can only go for custom made. Problem with petite girls. Oh well…

Men aren’t left out. Also, pretty dresses must go with pretty accessories. Shoes, necklace, earrings… All these shoes are from White Label, founded in 2008 by Malaysian designer, Hazel Lui.

Of course! Photos with the famous people… How to resist? I felt like an elf! They’re all so tall -.-”

Left: Benjamin Toong, the catwalk guru.

Right: The lovely and talented, Sarah Lian.

Left: Swing Chan, very cute fashion stylist. She’s the only one as petite as I am hehehe…

Right: Winne Then, the gorgeous owner of the Veil.

Left: Guess who was there too! Toh Puan Sri Ragad! Wanted to take a photo with her but no guts to ask hehehe… Managed to shake her hand though. She was the one extended her hand. This is my third time seeing her in person and the first time coming so close to her and shook her hand. Friends did selfie with her in other events. It’s not easy to get this opportunity.

Right: Amber Chia! Need to say more? She’s very humble. Learnt how to pose in photograph from her. Hopefully I still remember the tips she gave, the smile and the pose. Should have written them down. Very useful tips.

Today is open to public with invites. Yesterday was only for the media and VVIPs.

Here’s the highlight of the day, fashion show! It’s been a long time not shooting fashion show. Skill is very much rusty. Lots of editing was done on all the photos. Enjoy the photos.

Love the back. It seems like the trend these days is showing the back design. Not much of skin showing at the back, it’s semi-transparent and with intricate designs. Great for those who have problematic skin at the back just like me.

You know where to go now for your big day?

The Veil Wedding Gallery is located at 8, Jalan Tan Sri Ong Kee Hui, 93300 Kuching. Opened from Tuesdays to Saturdays, 10am-6pm; Sundays from 10.30am to 2.30pm. Call 082-256828 for more details.

A Birthday Post

Posted on September 4, 2014September 5, 2014 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on A Birthday Post

Ahem... Need to say more? *gulp* on TwitpicAnother year older… Parents bought me a mango fresh cream cake last night instead on the actual day. Spending this day with them too. This afternoon we went to sign some stuffs. Imagine two rims of A4 papers. That’s how much we signed, took 1 hour!

Today, was expecting someone to celebrate or at least wish me a simple “happy birthday” but it didn’t happen until I had to tell that someone it’s my birthday today then I got the wish. This is how silly I was hahaha… The person didn’t know, didn’t check, didn’t care for sure. I had to tell to get it! Pathetic! It’s funny in a way though. Oh well… Hoping for one but I didn’t get it instead I get more than what I asked for. Not bad at all.

Thanks to those at work! Love the scarf! Definitely will go t... on TwitpicAt work, colleagues celebrated it with me and gave me a scarf. The scarf is so soft and the colour is very nice. I wouldn’t buy this colour if I am to buy it myself because I thought it won’t complement my skin tone. However, it actually did! Muslim colleagues will never go wrong when it comes to buying scarf. They know best! First time getting a scarf as a gift too. This is definitely going to Perth with me 😉

Tonight, the weather is very cooling. It reminded me of Adelaide. The weather felt the same like 2 years ago, this day. It was my first and last time celebrating the 30th with someone who used to be significant to me. Was also my last birthday in Adelaide. I miss Adelaide, part of me feels like going back but part of me just doesn’t want to. Nevertheless, at least I’m going to OZ for a short trip this November.

All right! Enough of that. Should end the post. Time to sleep! Birthday wish for the year? I forgot to make a wish last night before blowing the candles! *LOL* Come what may… Will go with the flow.

Sephora is Finally in Kuching!

Posted on September 3, 2014September 3, 2014 By sweet surrender 5 Comments on Sephora is Finally in Kuching!

Getting Benefit, Stila, NYX, Bare Escentuals, Urban Decay and etc. is no longer a dream for those in Kuching! You don’t have to go all the way to KL or Singapore for them! HAPPY!!

1st September, marked the opening of Sephora (the 9th outlet) at tHe Spring and was lucky enough to be able to attend the launch before they open it up to the public.

We’re given with RM50 gift voucher each and expired on the same day too. So… Being human, we will certainly want to use it to get something for free. Yes, can surely get something for free with this but you just want to fully utilize it so you ended up buying over RM50 and paid for the extra with cash. I would have just get a RM50 product and not paying any cash but I don’t need that thing hence I rather buy something I need. At least I only paid RM8 for RM58 worth of products ;p

Butter and Ciaté nail polish are now available here! At least get to try them out and Butter is great! Very pigmented. One stroke is enough, no need layers of application. Love Ciaté packaging, very cute.

Sephora’s own products. So many! It took me a very long time to decide what to get but I ended up getting nothing from here hehehe… The prices are very reasonable.

Left: Sephora’s body care range. Very colourful and smell yummy!

Right: Lots of sets too.

Luckily it’s not as big as those in West Malaysia and Singapore, the size is just nice. It took me more than an hour to decide what to buy with that RM50 gift voucher *LOL* Queued for almost half hour too and I was the last invited guest to check-out hehehe… We no longer have to fly out/shop online/ask people to help to buy those products anymore, it’s now at our own doorstep. Hurray to that!

On the other note, H&M is coming soon too! I hope not in early November because I want to attend the opening too!

Unveiling The Veil

Posted on August 31, 2014August 31, 2014 By sweet surrender No Comments on Unveiling The Veil

During this long weekend, head over to tHe Spring to unveil something different. Starting from 30th to 1st September, you can get exclusive invite to unveil The Veil that will happen on 7th September.

The unique way in creating awareness to the public on what’s good and bad for a wedding gown. They are beautiful! You have to look closely to see that they are not made from fabric but from recycle materials. Imagine if it’s made with fabric, they will look stunning! However, sadly these are the kind of gown quality you get from many places for your big day. Such pity but you’ll definitely get good quality one at The Veil.

They categorized the unfit gowns as plastic, newspapers, and toilet roll. Very creative!

Plastic is because the gown is tight & uncomfortable, imagine wearing this on your big day… NO WAY!!! You’ll sweat and get all sticky because the gown cannot breath.

Newspapers is because it’s very dirty and unkempt. Usually this happens to old gowns and also gown which too many people had worn before. I’m very particular with this, ewww… Makes me cringe whenever I came across this kind of gown in many studios. Accompanied quite a number of friends to fitting before that’s why.

Tissue paper aka the toilet roll means the dress is easily torn and not durable. The fabric they used are very lousy, I came across a lot like this. I remember wearing a wedding gown when I was a maid of honour in my friend’s wedding. You know how crazy it is during the game sessions, my gosh! My dress was stepped on by the groomsmen and even myself while I tried to stop them from going up the staircase, not purposely stepped on it of course, the game just got a bit aggressive that’s all. Luckily it didn’t rip! The dress was of very good quality, you can feel it once you lay your hand on it, you don’t even need any extra supporting things to support the gown, it just sits nicely on your body and very comfortable to wear. Imagine what happened if the gown I wore was a bad one… *gulp*

Interesting huh? Check them out starting today till 7th September at tHe Spring.

Go now to get invite to the unveiling event where there will be workshops on how to select the gown suitable for you and how to pose for great photos, fashion show too! You will see the big names there too! Amber Chia is one of them.

Great one for couples who are planning their big day to attend. You’ll learn a lot! Also get special promotions during the grand unveiling at The Veil Wedding Gallery (Jalan Tan Sri Ong Kee Hui, 93300 Kuching) located just opposite SUPP HQ . rest assure that you will be taken care of by The Veil team for your big day, they are 5 this year!
