Where’s The CNY Mood?

Posted on February 2, 2008August 26, 2010 By sweet surrender 10 Comments on Where’s The CNY Mood?

Chinese New Year is coming soon… 7th February 2008, WOW! Now it’s February… It feels like just yesterday we welcomed 2008. In less than one week, only few days, Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year will come. -.-” Guess what?!??!?! I have no CNY mood! I don’t feel any. In the passed years, we would be busy spring cleaning but this year… Haven’t start at all! Oh dear… I guess we will only start on the eve’s *LOL*

Even the market is quiet…

Went to Kenyalang, lots of cars, hard to find parking but not many people. Most people came and left empty handed or only with small bags instead of big bags like it used to. It’s not sardine packed also, you can move around easily. Kenyalang is already so “cold”… The rest of the places would be worst!

Indeed…

Went to Padungan, the Chinese New Year Bazaar, I took part in it last year hahaha… It’s my first and last time, no more! Hahaha… It’s pathetic this year! Only few stalls, it ended at Tao, unlike previous years that ended way after the police station which is another block next to Tao. Not many people buying things, many came to see, see, look, look, walk, walk only.

As usual there’s performance every night on stage. Trying to get some mood from it but… Still cannot… Still no CNY mood -.-” Oh dear! What’s wrong with me? Apparently, I’m not the only one. Many of my friends and even my parents also feel this way. Where’s the CNY spirits? Where’s the mood?

The famous cat is dressed in Chinese costume and surrounded by hanging lanterns and colourful lightings are installed along Padungan area.

Many people at Boulevard and always long queue at the hypermarket counter. At least people are buying a trolley or two of goods back. Maybe everyone shopped here that’s why the CNY Bazaars are so quiet. We managed to shop a trolley πŸ˜› However, it’s not all CNY goodies, mostly are just the everyday groceries.

Do you feel the Spring is coming? Do you have the mood? I still don’t have any mood… Will be baking some cookies today to cultivate the mood, not sure it works or not? *LOL*

Come and join us at KuchingBloggers.com! πŸ™‚

Another backdated post. I think I went there 2 weeks ago while I’m still having cough. Hahaha… Went there using the My Privilege Book coupon πŸ˜› Hehehe… I’ve never been there though it’s opened like or more than 5 years already, 7 years to be exact(if not mistaken). It’s located at Ang Cheng Ho, don’t know how to explain the exact location. It’s not at the main road.

Anyway… Presenting Elephant to you.

Another view of the interior. We ordered Caesar Salad (RM7.90) because we’re having cough, so cannot simply eat, had to eat something light. Very big portion…

Cough.. Have to drink something hot or warm, ordered green tea(RM3.80) and fruit tea(RM3.80).

Tomato Spaghetti (RM9.90) and Spaghetti Bolognese (RM10.90). Don’t ask me how they taste πŸ˜› I was sick and my tastebuds weren’t working well. All I know is that it’s quite sour. Hahaha…

Total damage is RM30+, got 10% discount using My Privilege Book but they have service tax, so the discount is only for service tax *LOL*

I’m sure you all know about Edison photos that are spreading around the Internet like wild fire. It’s a very big news in the Hong Kong and even Asia entertainment industry. It’s not only involved him but also other celebraties in Hong Kong. He go this really “fun” hobby don’t you think?

The story is that people found out the photos of him having “fun” with those girls from his computer that he sent to repair and that person sent it out to their friends and it ended up available everywhere on the Internet! Here’s a lesson that we all should learn.

What will you do to keep your digital photo album safe? Heard of photo encryption? If only he knew about Hide PhotosΓ’β€žΒ’ desktop software product. This software will enbale him to hide his photos from the curious eyes but too bad… It’s too late.

If you have this hobby just like Edison, you should know how to keep your photo safe. Don’t risk it!

The Opening Ceremony Of Sushi King In Sarawak – Part 2

Posted on January 31, 2008January 31, 2008 By sweet surrender 13 Comments on The Opening Ceremony Of Sushi King In Sarawak – Part 2

The food served at the buffet table! Lots of them *SLURP*

We didn’t eat much of the above. We only had these:

Why? We sat too far away from it and it’s not that good to walk in and out at the VIP area. We were seated at the VIP area because earlier on the seat assigned by the manager to us at the other section was taken, so we had no more place to sit. Therefore the Asst. Business Development Manager tried to look for a place for us and WOW! :p She asked us to sit at the VIP section! At the corner hahaha… Asked us to don’t make so much noise. Of course, we were happy and kept as quiet as possible when we were there. Hehehe…

Every table has this, yee sang. This is introduced in conjunction of CNY celebration. This portion is for 4-6 people, the portion is big! 5 of us couldn’t finish it! Only RM38.88, quite cheap, very affordable and I quite like it. Yummy… If you order this, you will be given a pack of ang paos for your CNY usage. It will be out on the menu starting 1st February 2008.

On your mark… Get set…

Let’s start lao lao lao! Hahaha…

Instead of the buffet… We had these!!!

We ate 23 plates(the photo has less, I editted the wrong photo hahaha…) for 6 of us. Not really a lot for the 6 of us. What to do? We did eat other things before we attacked the kaiten sushi hahaha… The total that we consumed was RM110, haven’t include service tax, GST and the RM38.88 yee sang. Good thing was that, it’s on the house! The manager let us ate as much as we could hehehe… Even challenged us to break the ‘twin tower’ record hehehe… However, we are not like some people that took advantage of it, we ate whatever we could and left when we were supposed to leave.

We camwhored a lot and kept asking them to help us take photos. Hehehe…

I camwhored too πŸ˜› Hehehe… *Blek* Just an excuse to post my photos. Only see 22 plates here, Georgette was still eating the final last one, we took the opportunity to camwhore hahaha…

The satisfied bloggers(Rose, Alysha, Me, Jimmy, Georgette who joined us later after covering MPH opening at The Spring, she went as a press instead of blogger and Greg, almost cannot see him in the photo hahaha…) hehehe… We’re full. We were well fed and thanks to the management of Sushi King for giving us such special treatments and made sure we were well fed, and ensured that we were happy and comfortable. Also accommodate some of our “requests” hahaha… Thanks to the organiser too!

Kuching bloggers RAWKSSSS! Hehehe…. πŸ˜›

The Opening Ceremony Of Sushi King In Sarawak – Part 1

Posted on January 30, 2008November 23, 2008 By sweet surrender 14 Comments on The Opening Ceremony Of Sushi King In Sarawak – Part 1

YO! So happy! Got invited to the Opening Ceremony of Sushi King in Sarawak at Boulevard hehehe… Woke up so early today because of this. Need to go there early, scare can’t find parking. I went to pick up Alysha and then we went to Jimmy’s house and waited for Rose, 4 of us went in one car πŸ˜› Met Greg there.

YAY! We’re here. Registered ourselves and we got a goodie bag each! Guess what!??!?! FREE Sushi King card! I had spent my RM15 applied for it the other time, so regret… Hahaha… I’m selling it off and it’s SOLD for RM10! πŸ˜› There’s a pen in there, RM10 voucher, and ang pao packets(no money of course).

Hehehe… Went early and got the front row πŸ˜› While waiting for the VIPs, we were feast with Sarawak traditional music.

Left: Waiting for the VIPs.
Right: Silas the MC.

Orang Ulu traditional dance. However, they were not all in Orang Ulu’s costumes. According to Silas, those with feathers were Kelabit (they called themselves Anak Adi Rurum Kelabit) and those with interesting head dress were the Lun Bawangs.

Left: Sushi King(Sushi Kin Sdn. Bhd.) is under Texchem Resources Sdn. Bhd. This is the the Founder/Chairman/CEO of Texchem, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Fumiko Konishi.
Middle: This is YB Haji Datuk Talip Zulpilip, chairman of SEDC(Sarawak Economic Development Corporation)
Right: Opening officiated! As far as I know, we were very good boys and girls, we tried not to interfere with those reporters. Only went up close after they were done.

Presenting a souvenir.

Left-Right: Puan Sri Datin Seri Atsuko Konishi, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Fumiko Konishi, YB Haji Datuk Talip Zulpilip and Yasuhiro Nishida(Managing Director of Sushi Kin Sdn. Bhd.)
This is the press conference session. We got to know that there will be a Sushi King outlet opening in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah this 31st March. They are planning to open in Miri, Bintulu and Sibu. There will be 5-6 more outlets opening in Sarawak within this year to achieve the 50 outlets target. Currently there are 44 outlets in Malaysia. The thing about Sushi King that stood out from the rest is the pricing for West and East Malaysia are the same! I know the kentai sushi is the same(kudos to that!), the set meals aren’t… Hmm… Not so sure, as I got the price from the website that time.

Let’s cut the ribbon! We tried our best to stay out of the way of the reporters. I stood on the chair with Rose hehehe… What to do? We are so small hahaha…

Toured the place. We didn’t dare to follow but all the reporters followed. So we waited outside, then Greg went and we followed his back. When we were there, the Asst. Business Development Manager said,”Bloggers right? Yes, yes… Bloggers can go in, Go… Go… Go…”. *LOL* We quickly scrambled to the kitchen to take some shoots of the VIPs and the kitchen.

Left: You don’t get to see this everyday πŸ˜› Hehehehe… The kitchen is clean and spotless.
Right: The buffet… Food post coming up in part 2 hehehe… OMG! Lots of sushi!!! Yum~ Yum~

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
