Went to Swinburne Anime Gathering on Friday night. Well… Nothing much to say. We felt so out of place because we are “OLD”. -.-‘ We are no longer students for ages and all those attended were students from Inti, LimKokWing and Swinburne. The theme was “Butler & Maid”. Only the organiser dressed this way, the dress code for the rest of us was semi-formal.

Our main aim was to just take photos and cover the event but was dragged into the ice breaking session which we were not even in the mood to play and also the game session at almost the end where I was chosen because I’m the only one with curly hair -.- Anyway, got two free movie tickets for any movie at Star Cineplex but I felt bad, I’m not a student to deserve that hahaha…

Just followed the instructions along the way to find the gathering place.


Finally after such an adventure and saw many anime character figurines.

Here are photos of figurines available at the gathering. They were all so nice and very good in quality.

Tokayaki, sushi, salad and huge drum stick -.-. Why so big pieces?!?!?! I LOVE tokayaki! Too bad it’s cold already. Man… We were so hungry, we only got to eat at 8pm+. If we knew that, we would have eaten something first.

Hehehe… I’m going to make somebody jealous now! πŸ˜› I’m going to meet Alex Wong in person!! How do you wish you’re in Kuching now hahaha… Don’t worry, I’ll take heaps of pictures and send it to you.

Hehehe… Here you go… We took so many photos that night, not only the food but ourselves πŸ˜› No wonder the other table talked about us *LOL* We really camwhored a lot! Poor Ben, he wasn’t in any of the group photos -.- He’s the cameraman.

The food is here! My first time attending wedding banquet at The Banquet.

Left: Chilies, soy sauce and vinegar.

Left: Hmm… Shark’s fin soup!?!?? I’m not sure, maybe is sea cucumber or crab meat soup, can’t really taste it. I’m not so sure about most of the food name as there isn’t menu on our table. Usually we get to see what are the dishes that will be served for the night printed on a card but not this.

This dish is usually served by the waiter/waitress. Well… Since almost all of us had cameras and 4 bloggers at the table, you can imagine what happened that night ;P Once the food came, we took out our cameras and started snapping before touching the food! Another two just joined us for the fun of it since they had cameras also πŸ˜› Means there were 6 cameras awaiting to take photos of the food!

Then for this dish, the waiter wanted to serve us and we suddenly took out all our cameras, not to forget Nien, the videographer with his professional video camera was sitting with us too, hehehe… The waiter got a bit of shocked of his life when he wanted to serve us, he quickly backed off and let us do our job hahaha… Then after we’re done, we told him he could proceed. *LOL* Poor guy… πŸ˜›

Right: Steamed fish… I don’t like it. The fish is fresh but I don’t know why but it tasted very “fishy” to me could be the part that I’m eating.

Right: Mixed vegetables in yam basket. It’s just like any other place.


Left: Hmm… Abalone mushroom, braised brocolli and toufu skin I think… Quite a standard dish also.
Right: YUMMY! Buttered prawn! The prawns were big. I want more! πŸ˜›


Left: This is the funniest part. Lotus rice hahaha… πŸ˜› Not sure how people called it. We were quite full and we don’t really like rice served as the last dish. Afte we took the photo, no one touches it. One thing is that they were supposed to give us clean plates for it as we saw this at other tables but we only had bowls, so we waited for the plates but still no plates in sight. Secondly. we don’t really want to eat. The captain saw it and asked the waiter to serve us. He came and ask whether we need him to serve or not and we said OK *LOL* After serving it in the bowls, no one took the bowl!

The waiter was standing there. I think the waiter must be thinking, “WTF!?!? Food came, whipped out cameras, then don’t want eat! Need to wait for me to serve them. Now! Served them already but no one take any of it! Are they expecting me to put every single bowl in front of each of them so that they can start eating!??! Or after that I need to feed them one by one is it!??!?” *LOL*

Hehehe… To avoid giving the waiter such hard time, we quickly took our own bowl. Bad… Bad… πŸ˜› We were very naughty!

Right: Dessert, mango milk+sago, very sweet…

Oh.. I also overheard the table behind us commented about us. She said, “That table ar… Don’t know what’s wrong with them, even food also want to take photo!?!?”

So many people update already! I only update it now, there are 2 more parts coming πŸ˜› Hehehe… We were supposed to be there around 6pm but at the end only reach there at 6.30pm sharp hehehe… It was supposed to start on 6.30pm but you know I know… Chinese banquet never starts early. Hahaha…


Lining up to go in the hall, congratulating the couples and their parents and gave them ang pao. I tell you, this bride is not your typical bride, Alysha was so super busy running up and down to make sure the things all ran smoothly. Sometimes she’s missing at the entrance hahaha…

See! Told you there will be special thing at her wedding. Before the grand entrance, her dancers danced to a romantic tune and after that went down the stage and at the same time they started to walk in. My photos all turned out very bad for this wedding dinner. Sigh… Almost 90% of them turned out real bad! If it’s not because of bluriness, then it’s some obstructions. I was always at the wrong place at the right time -.-‘ See the one here? Michael’s hand in the grand entrance photo? πŸ˜›

We got a shocked that the cake cutting actually was done right after the grand entrance. They walked straight up to the cake and cut! -.-‘ I thought I want to go back to sit already but had to rush back to the stage, we’re sitting quite far summore.

All the shoots failed and this is the only one that can be used but again! You see the videographer?!?! Hahaha… Nien was the videographer.

Then… After that, they walked down the stage, there’s the head of the waitress! Sigh…

Told you I’m always at the wrong place at the right time sigh… Took so many photos for wedding and this one produced all the bad photos -.-‘


Done the cake-cutting, it’s time to eat! They poured the champagne(I’m not sure it’s champagne or wine or… No idea what were they pouring hahah…). Most pictures turned out blurred and with obstrcutions as well. I had to crop them and edit them to reduce the bluriness.

Then, another surprise after dances and dances. The bride went up to dance with her dancers! WOW! Told you this bride is very busy one. Not your typical bride.

Oh… Worth a mention here. You know in a wedding usually the bride and groom will go around to cheers with each table. You don’t get this in her’s. They both mind their own business, they went around on their own. You do your thing, I do my thing. You seldom see them go around together unless you requested them to be together for a photo shoot with you *LOL* This, you have to find the groom or the bride somewhere in the crowd hahaha… It would take a while. Most of the time, most photos turned out with no groom or no bride hahaha… Cool!

Basically, that’s all. We stayed till a bit later to find the chance to take photo with the bride and groom. Then we went home. Congratulations again.
