Remember Two Bananas at Jalan Keretapi after Shell? It’s no longer in operation anymore. Now it’s known as The Tarot Cafe which is honestly far better than Two Bananas.
If you like to go to Bestberry, you will surely will like this place also coz it’s the idea of the same person(just the idea, the person isn’t the owner) who started Bestberry but Bestberry is now under new management.
The Tarot Cafe is air-conditioned(but when we were there during the opening, the air-conditioning units weren’t working) and the wall is uniquely decorated with framed tarot cards.
The menu is big and heavy but packed with lots and lots of nice food and drinks. These two drinks are from The Tarot Drink menu. It’s specially formulated based on each tarot card. The normal menu also has other type of drinks but it’s not as special as The Tarot Drink.
We ordered Strength(RM6.90) and The Fool(RM7.90). The menu has full descriptions of each of the card.
Strenght consist of soda, lemon and mint leaves if not mistaken.
The Fool is very rich! Coconut milk! So sinful and “hot” with lots and lots of longan and also sago. I love this. recommended. If you are on diet don’t go for this or else you will be really a fool for piling up all the fats in your system.
The food we ordered, Tarot Yam Rice(RM4) and Tarot Nyonya Curry Chicken Rice(RM5.50). Portion is big enough. I was so full! Taste wise, I’m not so sure, all I know is that they are edible, nothing much to comment about them.
Great place to hang out with friends as I really love their drinks selections.
What’s so special about this place is that, this is not a cafe only, there’s a Tarot Room if you would like to get your tarot reading or asking about things such as love, finance, life and more. It costs RM30/consultation, appointment is needed, you can call Chris Tan at 016-8648435 or email to tarot_chris[at]gmail[dot]com. She’s a certified tarot card reader and she also provides Feng Shui consultation.
She did demo something to us, it’s about your current financial status. I would say it’s pretty accurate. A piece of money is placed on each palm and if your money luck is good, it will form a “U” shape, the more curve it forms, the better your money luck is. If your right hand’s money forms a very big “U”, means money is coming in to you and if the left hand’s money is also forming the same big “U”, then it means you will spend a lot too.
Right hand means money in, left hand means money out.
You can join as member and get 10% discount everytime you go for consultation and also other benefits.
Of course, if you’re a Christian or Muslim, I wouldn’t recommend you to go for these things.
Anyway, the cafe is something different that you don’t get anywhere else in Kuching.
if i’m right, the beer should belong to jimmy one correct?
lee, hahaha… u mean in the Koreana post? Yes. Who else. *LOL*
hmm.. i’m a Christian but it’s OK right if I go for consultation JUST 4 FUN?? hehehhe..
Coki, I’m not sure is it OK or not depending on how strong you hold on to your faith, some don’t mind, some mind as these things are “blessed” and given “enlightenment” with some sort of “power” by the monks or medium in Thailand. So it’s up to each individual to see whether it’s OK or otherwise.
