I saw Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Hand & Body Lotion at Chemist Warehouse selling at AUD3.99, I thought wow! It’s a deal! So big bottle some more! Approximate 900gm for this bottle. Damn cheap! Queen Helene is popular for its face mask which I thought I had blogged about but apparently I didn’t -.-” hmmm…
This lightweight, fast-absorbing lotion blends replenishing natural Cocoa Butter with emollient Lanolin to soothe and soften dry, irritated skin. It’s recommended as an effective facial moisturizer for day or night use to help reduce the appearance of dry skin wrinkles, lines and crow’s feet. The lotion works to restore and maintain skin’s essential moisture balance and is excellent for skin that has been overexposed to sun or wind. It also helps relieve stretched skin during and after pregnancy. After just a few uses your skin will feel softer, smoother and more comfortable.
I was so excited to see that it can protect our skin naturally from the sun and wind especially with the weather condition here. I bought it without thinking twice since my lotion was running out.
When I got home, I read the label, saw the ingredient lists and I started to get skeptical. I’m sure you do too… I didn’t dare to use it on my face, those stuffs seem to clog pores if not mistaken. So I only use it on my body generously. Such big bottle and so cheap, who cares?!?
Very lightweight and easily absorb however it didn’t really moisture my skin for long, need to always reapply. Not moisturising enough for me but still it’s good enough for everyday used and use it without fear of wasting ;p. I definitely won’t use it on my face, not going to risk it.
The scent is quite light. It smells more like coconut instead of cocoa butter. However, it won’t interfere with your perfume.
In fact I had a bit of reaction on my arm when using it -.-” Must be the ingredients in there but luckily only my arm. Not sure is it really reaction from it or from other thing. I stopped using it for about a week and used it again after that, I didn’t experience the reaction anymore until now. Hmm… Had been using it for almost a month.
My recommendation? If you are not sensitive to any of the ingredients, it should be fine and if you have normal skin. Very dry skin will not be that suitable. It said that just need to apply a small amount but it’s not enough for me.
I’m not sure how realiable with the sun protection part though. Since it’s winter now, I’m not really worry as I cover up my body all the time but I will not rely on it in spring or summer or autumn. That reminds me to stock up on my sun lotion and UV protector because both are running out to prepare for spring that will come in September.
