PIKOM 2007

Posted on April 6, 2007April 6, 2007 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on PIKOM 2007

I always thought that PIKOM is a one year one time thing. I don’t know since when they have it more than once a year. Anyway, I’m not interesting in going to this sort of computer fairs anymore especially the one in Kuching well… If KL’s or Singapore then that’s different story. Besides that, I’m no longer interested in these stuffs after a series bad luck with electronic gadgets that I had bought. So now if you ask me what is the latest graphic cards, latest speed, latest processor etc. *Stare-At-You+Blankly* I have no idea *SHRUG*.

The fair is more like a warehouse sales rather than exhibiting the latest technologies. Last time I would make sure I visit every PC fairs in Kuching that I know but now I’m not eager to go any unless I need to buy something. It’s always the same old companies everywhere. The market is already monopolised and spoilt by them. So? What to expect?

There were so many people today because it’s public holiday for Sarawak today. Today is Good Friday. If it’s not public holiday, there won’t be so many people in the afternoon. It was sardine packed. Not easy to walk and see things properly. Very hot and noisy too. The exhibitors were practically blasting all sort of musics off from speakers, sub-woofers, computer etc. Very irritating!

I wasn’t enjoying myself at all, it’s making me very bad temper. I hate crowds! It’s actually a last minute decision to go there after having lunch with my family somewhere nearby and my bro wanted to buy something that’s why we went there.

You know how bad temper I was that time? The poor promoter got “bombed” by me while I’m waiting for my bro and dad with my mom at one corner. The promoter was trying to introduce Streamyx package that comes with a HP computer for RM99 per month, she talked to my mom, I ignored her. I just told my mom we already have Streamyx at home, there is no point for her to promote it to us. Then my mom told her that. Next she asked what kind of package that we are subscribing. I glanced at her, she was smiling that time, and I blurted out in a rahter harsh manner, “Who cares anyway? Any pacakge is the same!”. (-.-“) I felt so bad after that but what else I can do? Go up and say sorry? I’m sure she had came across many people like this already, I’m just one of them. It’s just parts and puzzles of their work nature so be it.

I still can’t believe that I actually responded that way. I had never do this to promoters. Usually I would just tell them in a very polite way or just walked away. Blame the crowd, the heat and the stupid musics!

That’s my report for PIKOM. By the way, PIKOM is here for 3 days, 6th-8th April at 5th Floor, Permata Carpark.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
