Going into 2010

Posted on December 3, 2009December 3, 2009 By sweet surrender No Comments on Going into 2010

How time flies!?!?! I didn’t realized that it was already the last day of November few days ago. When I woke up on 1st December, I didn’t even realized it’s already December the 1st! This is the last month of 2009, in few days time, I know… There’s still weeks but weeks feel like days to me coz one week will gone without I even realize it. Even now, one week is almost over yet it felt like new week just started only!

Freak out already? I admit that I do freak out a bit. It’s like we just stepped into 2009 not long ago and that was when my nightmare started and now it’s almost the end of 2009.

Now… I almost recover from my nightmare but there are still many uncertainties awaiting me in certain aspects. I hope I can get the answer before we go into 2010 to get some stuffs done. Without the answer, things will not be able to proceed or achieve. I hope I can get the answer on my own but I can’t, like I said before, you need 2 hands to clap. Do you hear me?

All right, that’s all for now. Will come out with a food post tomorrow. Don’t forget to join the contest.

Hello people! Here’s another contest I’m having. It’s December now, Christmas is just around the corner, it’s time to share. I have 12 pairs of gingerbread men for you! 😉

My friend, Josh, is kind enough to sponsor the prizes for this contest. He is the man that will be making your gingerbread men. Not only that, thanks to 175° Café for supporting this contest.

The contest is simple.

Just tell me your best Christmas celebration or how you intend to celebrate your Christmas this year. I don’t care how you are going to present it to me, it’s up to you. It’s your creativity. Even with one or two sentences I also don’t mind.

The best 12 entries will win a pair of gingerbread men specially made for you by Josh.

I will feature the winning entries in my blog. One post each day. It can be on any day after the result is announced. It can be before Christmas, after Christmas, 2010’s eve, 1st of January, or when I’m away in KL for holiday early next year. Rest assure that all the 12 entries will be featured before February 2010 comes.

Here’s something extra to those who own a blog and also one of the winners. I will feature your link along with your entry in my blog.

This contest is only open to those reside in Kuching.

Table Setting @ UCSI

Posted on December 1, 2009December 18, 2009 By sweet surrender 3 Comments on Table Setting @ UCSI

We went to UCSI yesterday afternoon to learn about table setting. This is one of the activities of tHe Spring Ambassador Hunt. Not all of us could make it as it’s working hour so those working were allowed to skip this.

We were briefed by Mr. Dicky and some of the faculty students about table setting. It was really fun and interesting. Now I know how to do all these! WEE! If I need to prepare a romantic dinner for my darling next time, I know how to do it hahaha…

There were 4 parts.

First part was setting up the table centerpiece. Just like wrapping present don’t you think?

Left: Here’s my group’s table. Didn’t know a table centerpiece can be done this way. Nice or not?
Right: We were split into 3 groups, each group with 3 people.

Second part was setting up the table.

Left: The demo table.
Right: Our table!

Third part was folding the napkin.

Left: We made the fans with the napkins for our table.
Right: The rest made candles with the napkins.

Forth part was opening the wine/champagne bottle and how to pour it into the glass.

It’s not easy, the bottle was so heavy.

Left: Finally we filled up our glasses with sparking juice.
Right: Pour… Pour… Pour… I was so afraid that the whole bottle would tip over due to my small hand. Only one hand was used but I ended up using another hand to support the upper part of the bottle just in case. That’s obviously not my hand ;p

After that, we’re done!

We took our time sitting down, sipping the sparkling juice, eating the pudding and catching up with each other before we called it a day. One interesting experience and new knowledge gained.

p/s: ignore the typo in the images ;p

Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Revitalizing Peel Off Mask

Posted on November 29, 2009November 30, 2009 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Revitalizing Peel Off Mask

I decided to try out Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Revitalizing Peel Off Mask yesterday. My sis got this mask last year for £1, original price was more than £3. It’s in my cupboard for more than a year ;p I’m not sure it expired already or not since I couldn’t find the manufacture and expiry date. I tried to find reviews or more details of this mask but couldn’t find any. Even couldn’t find it in their own website.

I opened up the sachet, and poured some out to test. This one sachet is too much for me and I only poured out about a quarter or less of it and it’s enough to cover my whole face and neck. I still have leftover stored in airtight container ;p

This is how the content looked like and I don’t really like the smell. It smells like heavily scented powder and made me sneeze quite a bit. I’m not sure this is normal or not hahaha… As I mentioned just now, it’s bought at discounted price more than a year ago.

I didn’t follow the instructions fully as I’m just using a little bit. I added warm water and stirred vigorously for more than 30 seconds. I added the water bit by bit just to make sure it’s diluted enough for applying to my face.

In fact I was pretty worry because I’m not sure whether the content is still good or not. There was even black pieces in there that I have no idea what they were. I assume that they are meant to be part of the mask ;p

It’s not easy to apply and it’s very messy. You see those granules on my face? Those are the black stuffs I found in the mask that couldn’t be diluted. I was expecting that the mask would be something rubbery when it dried but to my surprise, it’s not rubbery at all and could not remove like a normal peel off mask. Removing it was EXTREMELY difficult and messy. Imagine clay that has been expose to the air and dried up except it’s not that heavy for this case.

The problem was that I couldn’t just wash it off at the sink as it would clog the sink(that’s what the packet there stated). I took quite a while to remove the “clay” and I ended up with lots of dried “clay” on the floor. I had to sweep my room after that. There were still some on my face and I went to take shower for the second time just to remove them thoroughly from my neck and face.

Good thing, there wasn’t any redness or discomfort on my face. Geee… I wonder is it expired that’s why it’s like that or that’s what it’s supposed to be. What to do? I can’t find any details online about it and it’s not sold and not available in its official website. Hmmm…

I did notice some differences to the skin. My skin seemed to have more moisture, soft and smooth to touch.

I didn’t apply to the whole face as you can see in the photo because I didn’t dare as I’m not sure the product was still good or already went bad ;p It was not easy to spread on the face also. Not only that, I started off at the neck and noticed how it dried up, that’s why I didn’t want to spread all over the face because it will be even more difficult to remove.

So? I really don’t know… Is this product expired already or it’s meant to be like this? *shrug*

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
