Fish Frenzy Cafe

Posted on January 15, 2015January 15, 2015 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Fish Frenzy Cafe

15/1/15 today!

I slacked hehehe… One week ago today I was in Penang. Now I’m back!

Haven’t post about food for quite some time. Went to Fish Frenzy Cafe (SOHO 188, Ground Floor Lot 18713 Block 11 Jalan Wan Alwi 93350 Kuching) few weeks ago.

A new shop at SOHO 188 area. There are so many eateries there now! Fish Frenzy Cafe is at the same row as Choice World. The interior is very simple. Be warned that you will smell of food after you dined there. It’s air-conditioned but the entrance isn’t closed. Not bad to eat there on a hot day.

Left: Clear Soup Fresh Fish Slice (RM10). The fish was fresh enough and the soup wasn’t overpowering. My parents said that the soup was quite salty the first time they went but this time around it was ok. You can order rice(RM1.50), noddle(RM2.20), bee hoon(RM2.20), tang hoon(RM2.20), and kueh tiaw(RM2.20) to go with it. There’s also other soup base namely sour & spicy soup and evaporated milk. Next time I’ll try the evaporated milk range. Should be interesting.

Right: Pork Five Spice Meat Roll (RM8), it tasted all right too. Just felt that it’s a little small in portion.

Overall, it was acceptable for me. Don’t mind going back to try other soup base.

Redoxy

Posted on January 6, 2015January 6, 2015 By sweet surrender 1 Comment on Redoxy

Came across Redoxy few months back. A friend was using it and let me tried. It’s a direct sale product from Return Legacy. Her whole family is using it and they all are happy with the result. I’ve also seen the difference on my friend’s skin. I decided to get one to try it out since my daily moisturizer and serum is running out. It’s quite expensive for a small bottle (RM250). Then, my supplement was running out too, therefore I bought a box of supplement, Medigold (RM250). However, I just paid RM310 for the two products. Buying one is expensive, so I bought two for the sake of trying.

For now, I’ll talk about Redoxy.

Smells like pineapple and milk. Watery texture and easily absorb leaving no sticky feel but soft smooth skin.

I brought it with me to Perth. The air there is very dry and Redoxy worked wonder! Normally I’ll end up with oily skin in the morning because of the dry condition Down Under. With this, I woke up with no oily skin. I’m amazed!

There is no need for other things. At night, just 3-4 drops (depending on the size of your face) after washing the face after or without toner then applied it on the skin. You’re done! In the morning, just topped it off with sunscreen and you are ready to go!

It didn’t break me out or made me itch.

I also noticed that my skin is more radiant, makeup goes on easily and my pigmentation is much lighter now. Felt that my skin is firmer and pores seemed smaller too.

Aside from that, you can apply it anywhere on your skin. Scars can be lighten. Using on the eye area won’t be a problem as it absorb quickly and leave no oily residue behind. Means you can use it on the whole face, no need to invest in any eye cream/gel anymore. I figured that it can be useful for stretch mark too.

I should be showing you before and after photos but I couldn’t find any as I haven’t been camwhoring with a camera for a long time but with phone and the latter always cannot show much imperfection.

The ingredients are Milk Peptide, Hyaluronic acid, Allantoin, Salmon Peptide, Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA), Collagen, Growth Factors, Vitamin C, Kojic Acid, Vitamin E, Hydroxylated Lecithin, Potassium Citrate, Potassium Carbonate, Magnesium Sulfate, and Silicon Oxide.

The down sides are small bottle, only 20ml (using it once a day in the morning, about 3-4 drops each time, lasted me almost 3 months); and it’s rather pricey. However, at least it’s so much cheaper than a lot of high end products sold at departmental store.

Quite a good product. I didn’t expect much from it but it surpassed my expectations. Quite happy with this and I don’t bother looking at other skincare products anymore.

Oh ya… It is safe for children too.

Who should take Redoxy?
• Age 25 and above (checked)
• Coffee drinker (Not applicable)
• Under pressure (checked)
• Always stay up late (checked)
• Alcoholic beverage drinker (Not been drinking for months)
• Frequent traveller (Not so)
• Smoking (Not applicable)
• Working on shift (Not applicable)
• Long hours in air-conditioned environment (checked)
• Constantly exposes to UV ray (Not so)

These are what it claims to be:
Anti-aging: Reduces wrinkles & fine lines, protect skin from the sun.
Anti-oxidation: Quench free radicals.
Hydrating: Locks in skin cells moisture for long hours, shrink skin pores
Boosting: Enhance production of collagen.
Repairing: Helps scars and marks to heal.
Rejuvenating: Make skin firmer, smoother and younger.
Brightening: Lighten pigmentation, improve skin’s tone and texture.
Firming: Improve skin elasticity.
Penetrating: Micro-clustered technology allows nutrients to penetrate deeply and nourish the cell.

Where to get it? You will have to find whoever selling this product since it’s direct sale product. The company name is Return Legacy (you can just Google it, easily found and can read lots of reviews from others too). Of course, I can help you get it since I’m also getting it from my friend.

By the way, gonna be away for a short trip. Will be updating on Instagram/Twitter. 😉

Happy 2015

Posted on January 1, 2015 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Happy 2015

First post of 2015. First time I joined countdown in Kuching. 2 years ago joined the countdown in Christchurch. All the other years, either just spent it at home, in Incheon Airport’s toilet, or sleeping in hotel room in Singapore *LOL*

Some food from New Year’s Eve buffet at Aurora Court. Too bad, didn’t eat anything hahaha… Just took photos.

For countdown, I went to Victoria Arms. It’s my first time counting down there and also very likely the last time too. Why so? You’ll know next time ;p Went out from the house around 10.15pm, got caught in the jam and only reached there at 11.10pm. Normally it just took me 10 minutes from home! -.-” Took the wrong road that’s why.

Here’s the video I took last night of the countdown. Really amazed with how good the quality is from my new phone, Microsoft Lumia 535.

New year, new direction. So as usual… Reflection of 2014…

Got a new job in February, I had to change my lifestyle because of the new job. Learnt many new things and met many interesting people. Some might know what and where I work but still not many know about it. I’m not revealing it also hahaha… If you are observant enough you will know where I work. I don’t know when I’ll reveal it ;p Will just let u find out about it yourself.

Also, got another part-time job before I got the full-time job.

Made 2 impromptu trips also this year, one to Langkawi, one to Perth. Lucky to grab the direct flight to Langkawi as now the flight is ceased, no more direct flight from Kuching to Langkawi. Perth trip was quite a pleasant, I’m glad I made the trip to Down Under. Never expect I will go back there so soon.

Was silly enough to feel for someone. Luckily didn’t took a step further. Backed off in time, just not the right one. Phew… I’m blessed.

Attended a lot of weddings this year, not only friends’ but also family. It’s a year of marriage! Even tomorrow, there will be one to attend. So many invitations. I foresee more invitations coming my way *gulp* Is this a sign that soon it will be my turn? Hahaha… *dreaming*

I’m learning to express gratitude on anything that came my way, be it good or bad. Always look at things from two sides too. Law of attractions is indeed working it’s magical way. Even though I’ve not gotten all that I wanted but I’m feeling good on whatever it is happening now, I believe it’s the transition to the good things to come. I’m thankful for those who care and love me, money that is given to me throughout my life, and good health that is keeping me alive.

Next year resolution? None… I never set resolutions. I made resolutions once when I went to Adelaide and everything just didn’t turn out as planned. Better don’t make any. Just go with the flow.

To end this post, I wish you a very happy new year and hope the year brings you happiness.

Perth 3-7 Nov 2014: Part 5

Posted on December 27, 2014December 27, 2014 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on Perth 3-7 Nov 2014: Part 5

Last day in Perth. Met up with a friend who is one of my blog readers. We’ve known each other for more than 10 years! Too bad… We forgot to take photo together! MY GOSH! How can?!?! Finally see each other in person 10 years later! Don’t even know whether there will be any second chance, this might be the first and the last time. What’s more, few attempts to meet for the past 4 days didn’t materialize due to his work commitments, not even when I was in Adelaide for almost 2 years! We only managed to meet up for less about 15 minutes as he had to go back to work. Guess second time will be in Kuching, that also if it actually happens *LOL* I won’t go back in near future… Too expensive…

Anyway, after meeting up with him, we walked to Perth’s Chinatown. At first we thought it will be very far but it’s not far at all from Murray Street Mall! These are some views along the way. Most shops were still closed, we’re there too early. Couldn’t get the Vietnamese food we’re after. Too bad…

Our last stop was King Street before heading back to hotel for quick lunch before going for our Swan Valley tour. Didn’t buy anything on King Street, cannot afford it ;p Nothing fancied me there too.

Signed up with Taste Bud Tours for the afternoon tour. You’ll get TasteBud VIP Reward Card and enjoy savings with it. I didn’t use any of the discount as I didn’t buy much. What’s more, you can extend the discount privilege to your friends too.

Supposed to go for the morning tour but because there’s not enough people, we had to shift to the afternoon tour. Either way, it’s still good, just that we don’t get to eat ice cream hahahah… First stop was Yahava Koffee Works.

Tried lots of coffees. I’m not a coffee person but I love the smell of coffee, not the taste. I don’t really drink coffee and it makes me sleep. However, I don’t mind munching on the coffee beans, just like eating nuts *LOL*

Also had the chance to try out the chai latte. Thinking of buying it if it’s good but nope… Not the taste I’ve been looking for… Really miss the one back in Adelaide.

Next, we went to Margaret River Chocolate Company. Since we’ve been to the shop before on the previous Margaret River tour and also that morning at King Street, we headed straight to the shop next door, Coward & Black and also where you can get Providore products. Tasted some really nice chutneys but didn’t buy any as I have no idea what to do with it back home hahaha… Most of the time, these things will be left in the pantry with no one touching it. So just tasted it there. You know how things taste so good at the original place and no longer tastes as great when you bring it home.

Next stop, Cape Lavender. Thought of buying something here too but at the end went back empty handed. Nothing I need.

We get to sample unique lavender infused scones, jam, cream and refreshing tea. The scones was freshly made, still hot when we had it. I like them.

Now to Jarrah Ridge Winery, wine… OMG! I love love love love the olive! I was so tempted to buy a pack home because it’s so cheap compare to back home but afraid that the bag might burst on the flight back. Try lots of different type of wines too. Cheese as well… Ah… Wine, olives, and cheese… Great combination, I could just have these whole day while lazing away! However, I don’t know how to enjoy this sort of thing back home, the feel is just not there. This is the thing I’ll do in OZ only. I miss the place… Doesn’t matter it’s Perth or Adelaide. Just wish I can extend my stay there *dreaming*

The House of Honey is next. I’m sucker in collecting honey. I bought miniature honey if I do visit places that produce honey. Collected the ones from NZ and Kangaroo Island. Now this one from WA.

Was looking forward to this shop. Hmm… I just realized something above the door when I was editing this photo… Isn’t this a Chinese feng shui thing? How come it’s there? The owner believes in such thing too?

Left: Oh dear! Ice cream with honey! Too bad I didn’t try it out because we’re in quite a rush and had been trying out sweet stuffs a lot. It took me ages to finish an ice cream so I didn’t want to risk it, no food allowed in the tour bus too. At least I tried honeycomb ice cream before in Rottnest Island. Better than none. Maybe next time, then again… When???

Right: Bees! Not my first time seeing them. Seen them before at the Royal Adelaide Show. It’s pretty fun watching them in action.

So many awesome products there from food to skincare. I only bought a small bottle of honey, nothing else. I still have honey skincare products I bought from NZ, still trying to finish using them. Tasted all sort of honey too, interesting… Never know each honey has its unique taste. Yes… I did buy honey whenever there’s chance but those places didn’t provide sampling. I bought them as souvenirs only, not for consumption.

Coffee, tea, wine, honey, now to some sweets and nuts… I was sugar high!

Mondo Nougat and Morish Nuts, located side by side. Only bought some nougat as gift. Didn’t buy any nuts, better don’t buy any because I have uric acid problem so have to reduce nuts consumption, actually alcohol too hahaha… However, there’s no way to avoid it this trip ;p

After that, off we went to The Juice Hut. Very nice juice they have. It’s all fresh, no preservative, no fillers, it’s just pure fruits and vegetables goodness.

Last stop was Ironbark Brewery, just next door.

I opted to sample the ginger beer. Ok… It’s just ginger beer. I didn’t feel any difference from what I had in McLaren Vale, SA. Didn’t order other drinks aside from that as was rather stuffed already from all the tastings the whole afternoon! That’s not the end as there’s one last food to have. Our early dinner!

There’s a list for us to choose and we went for the “Wood Fired Pizzas”. The pizza we ordered was packed with so much ingredients! Luckily we ordered one only for two persons, still it’s a bit too much, could feed three because of the samplings we had before coming to this place. The pizza was great! Even better to go with beer for sure 😉

This is the end of the tour. I do recommend this tour if you are on tight schedule like us. It’s quite fast pace, sometimes you wish you can stay longer in one place but you can’t, that’s the only downside. Other than that, it’s great tour to sample a wide range of food and beverage. You will also be in the good hand of Loris, the person behind this tour.

We got back to the hotel and packed like crazy and called the night early! We had to catch the flight at dawn and we went to the airport at 3am if I recall correctly. Goodbye to Perth.

That’s the end of my Perth post. Only 5 days, too short, too fast, but covered quite a fair bit of places. Wish can be longer. See you again Perth… Just don’t know when…

Tourism Appreciation Night 2014

Posted on December 23, 2014December 23, 2014 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Tourism Appreciation Night 2014

Last Sunday, it was my first time attending Tourism Appreciation Night 2014. Went there with my colleagues on behalf of the company. Dress code of the night was red and/or white.

Nothing much to do while waiting for VVIPs, so played with the gingerbread men 😛 Ate one of them too as we couldn’t start eating until about 9.30pm -.-” sooooo hungry…

Finally they arrived to launch the Calender of Events 2015. Next year will also be known as MyFest 2015. Do expect lots of festivals next year.

We have the Minister of Tourism Sarawak (Datuk Amar Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Abang Haji Openg), the outgoing CEO of Sarawak Tourism Board (Dato Rashid Khan), and Tourism Malaysia Chairman (Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Ng Yen).

To end the night, the organizer performed poco poco and VVIPs were invited to go up the stage to dance with them. You definitely won’t see this everyday. They sure danced very well.

I’m surprise with how well Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Ng Yen danced the poco poco.

Christmas eve tomorrow… Gonna work late… Hopefully can get my Perth trip posts concluded soon. Next month will be Penang ;p
