Coffee places is sprouting up like mushroom after the rain these 1-2 years time. Still more coming I’m sure. So many in Kuching. Couldn’t even keep track. I’m gonna split them into parts to share with you. I’m not a coffee drinker, I’m just sharing the available places for coffee in Kuching. Therefore, don’t ask me about how good the coffee is, I have no clue.
Caffeine & Cocoa
Unit 61, Ground Floor, No. 1, CityONE Megamall, Jalan Song, 93350 Kuching
The place is a bit stuffy when it’s full house. Environment wise isn’t so bad, quite cozy except the wooden stools are shaky which is quite scary to sit ;p
Left: Tetley Lemon Tea with a drop of honey, very refreshing tea, could taste a hint of honey in there. A pot of tea is RM10.50, can refill.
Right: A type of cheese cake, cheese sponge layered by cream cheese and covered with cream cheese topped with shavings of cheese. Not ordered by me, so no idea. Tried a bit, not bad, not too sweet and it’s moist. Their cakes are sourced from third party.

Coffee Obsession
29, 1st Floor, Lorong Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce 18, 93150 Kuching
Very spacious place with simple but creative decorations. They have various seating options available for patrons. The drink on the left is Mocha and on the right is Signature Iced Blended Green Chocolate Mint. The drinks were generally a bit too sweet for my liking. The sandwich was not bad, great for sharing, very filling.

Earthlings Coffee Workshop
Lot No. 45, Ground Floor, No. 1, CityONE Megamall, Jalan Song, 93350 Kuching
I guess we can consider this coffee establishment the trendsetter. It started over a year ago and the coffee culture in Kuching started to boom. It’s the hip place to go. I’ve been seeing friends posting about it on social media and talking about it too ever since its opening. However, I only managed to pay this place a visit few months back. I’m slow…
They have unique ways to present their coffees to their customers, in Erlenmeyer flask, but not other beverages. First time, I ordered the yogurt drink(top left), it’s quite sweet for me. Second time I went, I ordered the chai latte (bottom right), by far this is the best chai latte I had in Kuching. We did try one of their cakes, something with peanut butter, tasted great if you like peanut butter but the crust was inconsistent, it was so hard to cut into. By the way, they don’t make their cakes, they source it externally.
As for the environment, it’s extremely cold in there because of the centralized air-conditioning system in that very small area. A cozy place to hang out too.
That’s all for now. Part 2 will come…
