Old Town White Coffee @ KIA

Posted on July 5, 2010July 5, 2010 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on Old Town White Coffee @ KIA

I’ve never dine at Old Town White Coffee until last week. The first outlet in Kuching is located at Kuching International Airport. The second one is at Hills.

Since we were at the airport that day, I thought that the others would be joining us for dinner, so I decided to try out Old Town White Coffee, who knows… They all didn’t want to eat, said that they will just eat on the plane. Cheh… If I knew, I would just go for dinner somewhere else.

Can you see the receipt? GOSH! The fresh lemon tea(cold) actually cost RM5.50! I thought the glass would be big but guess what?!?! The average size glass you could find out there in market might just cost you more or less RM1.50 but the one here was so small, so much smaller than the average glass. Imagine that?!?! Made from gold water I guess, the lemon and tea might have been grown with gold soil. The price I would expect with this size and for such establishment at the airport, RM3-4 might be reasonable but RM5.50 is just too much -.-”

After this experience I will never ever go to Old Town anymore even the one in town. Unless I’m not the one paying. Heart attack I tell you. I would rather go to Starbucks for the drinks.

Anyway, how’s the price at the one in town?

For the food, we ordered the cheapest noodle but even the cheapest cost RM9.80 each! Thought the portion was big after seeing the bowls on other tables but aiyoyoyo… Big bowl only, the content was so little. Such portion with such price, really cut throat. The most expensive noodle I ever had in my life and it’s not like it’s the most delicious one, it’s just so-so. If it’s RM5-6 maybe acceptable but RM9.80… Not good.

Left: Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun. It’s on the sweeter note, don’t like it.

Right: Assam Laksa. Taste wise was not very bad but nothing to rave. At least it’s much better compare to the one I had last time at a kopitiam. Just the price… *shake head*

That’s my experience with Old Town at KIA. Not worth to spend such money on such food -.-” I would have more food and nicer food with such money at some other place.

I went to the one at the airport. Was really put off at the prices. The food was absolutely mediocre! Never going back!

Hi Irene, I guess there are such places that gives one a heart attack kind of drinks or food.
Its happened here too, but they soon went belly up….
For me, I have never ventured into a Starbucks especially when I see what they charge for cup of coffee…..
One bottle of Maxwell House rich blend which I drink, lasts 2 weeks….and cost only $1.99 a bottle.
Ha ha, I can imagine your shock see the bill.
Oh well, they lost you as a potential.
    Have a nice day, Lee.

    Katherine-Lee, jfook, one word… “overrated”! πŸ˜‰

Uncle Lee, I think sooner or later maybe… Since this is a franchise from West Malaysia, we’ll see how long it stays.

Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
