Deserted Jalan Song

Posted on March 26, 2010March 27, 2010 By sweet surrender 10 Comments on Deserted Jalan Song

Jalan Song used to be a place where people go there for food and hangout with friends and family. Now…

It’s deserted! Such a pity. It was so hard to find parking there and also place to sit last time. It was so packed and happening. Nowadays, it’s similar to a “dead town”.

Mind you, this was taken last night. If it’s last time, you’ll see all the people there, every night the place was packed to the brim.

I went there somewhere early this year and it was a Sunday evening, it’s the exact same view too. -.-”

The crowd is now at Premier 101.

Ah well… This is how unique Kuching is. Everyone will flock to the latest/newest place. Soon Premier 101 MIGHT be another “dead town” also, it’s just a matter of time that it will suffer the same fate as Jalan Song.

Kuching oh Kuching…

I think it’s the stall you took, Sin Wan kena boycott. Haha I heard the boss at peace garden (the food court at the back) said so. Not sure why.

Perhaps, business will be better when the new shoplex OneJaya opens.

And people are crowding Stutong Market area as well, C121, Lao Lee…etc.

Keeman, it’s not the particular stall, the photos are the angles of two different sides of Jalan Song, Expert and Sin Wan. Even the further up one was empty also -.-” Don’t think the shoplex will help, I think they will also suffer coz no people will be going there. Maybe for a while but at the end, it will be empty again because the shoplex is no different like any other shops unless there is something there that is very very interesting or unique.

Cyril, it was indeed crazy last time.

borneoboy, yeap… People shifting from one place to another and as if the whole Kuching shifts *LOL*

Fahri, ever since Premier 101 got crowded hahaha…

Hi Irene, really nice have you drop by.
    Thank you.
I used to go to Sarawak very often back in the 80’s on business. Sabah, KK, Sibu, Kuching, Bintulu and other smaller towns.
Love Sarawak and the lovely, friendly people, as well of the many kinds of people too.

And to me, for some reason or other Sarawak sure has its fair share of beautiful women…maybe because of mixed marriages.

You have a nice day and keep a song in your heart, best regards, Lee.
    ps, drop by tomorrow, Lee.

Maybe because no more interests on “illegal DVDS”? Hahaha

But i have to agree, it’s a trend maybe not unique to Kuching. Humans do tend to shift to new things easily, once they get bored, they shift again. And that’s something businesses need to look into. If not, they die like the rest!

KeeMan, I think the DVDs were there coz of the crowd ;p Now I only saw few stalls of DVDs hahaha… They got no business at all coz no ppl go there.

Not only that, we only have that many consumers unlike those big cities. How to sustain like that? If we have a many, everywhere will be packed because one single place cannot hold so many people so people will spread around but it’s not the case here. Such pity.
