Wild Ferns Rotorua Mud Face Pack with Manuka Honey

Posted on June 6, 2013June 6, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on Wild Ferns Rotorua Mud Face Pack with Manuka Honey

Boo! Did you get a shock? HAHAHA!

Now, let’s blog a little bit about skincare. Haven’t do this for a long long time. I bought Wild Ferns Rotorua Mud Face Pack with Manuka Honey when I was in New Zealand. I bought this at the airport. New Zeealand is famous not only for its beautiful sceneries but also its skincare product made from honey and also geothermal mud.

The ultimate treatment for your skin. These face packs contain the absolute maximum content of Rotorua’s geothermal mud in its purest form and are enhanced with Active AAH650+ Manuka honey. The mud is creamy and velvety smooth and full of highly concentrated natural minerals to make it extremely therapeutic as well as detoxifying, purifying, healing and also remineralising. When combined with the powerful antibacterial and antioxidant properties of Manuka honey, it works to deeply cleanse the skin and restore tone and vitality so that your complexion is noticeably refreshed and revived.

I spent NZD19.95 for this. All together I bought 3 skincare products there. Will review the other two when I started using them which might be awhile ;p

It’s not that easy to use, it dries out really fast when the instructions stated that one should not let it dry before washing it off. So it practically means it has to be washed off immediately after application as you can see from the photo. I guess it’s because of the climate in Malaysia. Maybe I should apply more, a thick layer I guess.

Directions: Must be used on a clean skin. Apply evenly to the face avoiding the eye area and keeping clear of the hair line and mouth. Sit and relax for approximately 10 – 15 minutes while the face pack dries and draws out the impurities. It will start to feel tight and will gradually lighten in colour as it dries. When it is a mottled light and dark grey it is ready to remove. Do NOT allow it to dry to a complete light grey/white colour.

After using it, my face felt refreshed. Don’t forget to follow up with moisturiser.

Indelible Ink for GE-13

Posted on May 5, 2013May 5, 2013 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Indelible Ink for GE-13

So I had voted. Didn’t go there early in the morning, took my time as my voting place is just across the road. Many people voted in the morning, I went there after lunch with my family. Fast and easy, in and out in couple of minutes, no queue at all. Everything was peaceful at my place.

Left: As we all know, this time indelible ink is used. So I got my finger inked. I did not wipe it off after getting ink, I just let it be. Some friend said that they were provided with tissue paper to ensure the ink won’t stain their ballot paper or any other places. I don’t remember how many layer they applied. Anyway it did not dry even after I got home. The period of time the ink stayed on my finger in its original form for roughly 15 minutes or less.

Right: My mom took some water for us to wash the excess off once we got home. You can see the difference. The water turned blue too.

As for dad, he did wiped his finger right after getting out of the polling station. When reached home, he started off with thinner but it didn’t budge. No effect. Then he took out Soft99 luster wax hahaha… He managed to get the ink off, rubbed quite hard too. Then washed with water. This is the final result. Not that clean especially in between the edges but still can proof that you had voted.

Left: As for me, after using the water, I tried the wax too. Much cleaner now. Can be cleaner but I decided I shouldn’t overdo it because it will do no good to my cuticle. Rather painful want to clean it thoroughly. I just want to get the excess off so that I won’t stain any of my thing.

Right: Next, I washed it with soap. The foam was blue, I kept washing until no more blue foam formed. This is the final result.

So? My verdict.

It’s indelible for my case. Some friends are complaining that they could clean it without any effort. In actual fact, there will still be residue which you might not be able to see with naked eyes unless using magnifying glass (according to the department) which was also provided to the officers to check your finger to ensure you did not vote twice. Also, if you did wipe it off immediately after inking, it can be cleaned much easily but still there will still be traces leaving behind. How long it stays on your finger will also determine whether how much you can get it off. For my case, I have no way to get rid of it anymore, as it had already seep inside my skin at the time of composing this post.

I don’t know… Maybe we had put expectations which are too high to it and ended up it did not live up to our expectations, therefore there’s so much complains. Fade, it will surely fade, just a matter of how much fading. Clean, yes you can but how clean can it be? Maybe those who managed to get it spotlessly removed should double check with the magnifying glass.

One more thing, looking at the rate of how it fades, it won’t last 7 days but maybe can last 1-2 days.

Anyway, we’ve voted. Let’s see how it will turn out. At the end of the day, life still goes on.

ETUDE HOUSE Moistfull Collagen Essence-In Pact SPF 25 PA++

Posted on March 20, 2013March 20, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on ETUDE HOUSE Moistfull Collagen Essence-In Pact SPF 25 PA++

I’ve been using ETUDE HOUSE Moistfull Collagen Essence-In Pact SPF 25 PA++ since last year August. Only write about the review now. I’m still using it.

I bought this from Korea. Don’t remember how much it was but it’s cheaper than in Malaysia for sure.

I went for natural beige #2 instead of the of light beige #1. I had porblem choosing the right colour as I’m not as fair as the Koreans. When I started using it, natural beige was still too white for me. I felt that’s it’s still too thick for my liking. Eventually, I tried to adjust the amount I applied on my face and it’s not that bad now.

I love the fragrance. Most importantly, it has SPF in there. It’s not drying at all. It’s “moistfull” as it claimed. Usually I just applied this and then brushed on a bit of blusher on my cheek. Coverage wise, it’s not so bad but do not expect it to cover large flaw. What do you expect? It’s not foundation. I almost bought the foundation, luckily I didn’t, this pact is good enough for me. Foundation would be too heavy for me.

I might go back to this after I’m done with this one since Etude now is available in kuching.

Maybelline Hypercurl Volum Express Cat Eyes

Posted on November 15, 2012 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on Maybelline Hypercurl Volum Express Cat Eyes

I’ve been always wanted to try out Maybelline Hypercurl Volum Express Cat Eyes, finally tried it after bought it for almost a year.

The brush is comb-like, not the usual type of brush you found in normal mascara.

All I can say is that, I don’t like it at all! Shouldn’t have buy this. It didn’t really lengthen and didn’t really curl. Nothing dramatic. Too many layers just made my lashes looked like cockroach legs! Not only that, it’s so hard to remove! Took me so long to finally remove it.

I only like the brush. Great to use on lower lashes. I’ve been a fan of Maybelline’s mascara but not this one. Very disappointing.

The Face Shop Sleeping Mask Aqua Drop Pack

Posted on July 17, 2012July 17, 2012 By sweet surrender No Comments on The Face Shop Sleeping Mask Aqua Drop Pack

I bought The Face Shop Sleeping Mask Aqua Drop Pack from Korea. Don’t remember how much was it already but definitely it’s quite cheap. In fact, I never thought of buying anything from The Face Shop that time. My aim was to buy those which can’t be found in Malaysia or Australia but I totally forgot about this (It’s available in both countries *LOL*) when I helped my friend to buy her sunscreen from here ;p

Anyway, I’ve been using it every night to replace my nightly moisturising routine. Glad to see that there’s no dry patch anymore unlike last year as you know that the air in Australia is extremely dry. It contains 3,300mg of hyaluronic acid.

The good thing about this is that it absorbs really quickly and not leaving any sticky film on your face. So there is no worry about you rubbing it off when you’re asleep. You don’t need a lot too and it’s easy to spread.

The down side? I can’t find any.

I was torn between choosing this and the collagen sleeping mask which is purple in colour. At the end I ended up with this. However, I was given with the collagen sleeping mask sample. I used it at night in Korea. It’s thicker and stickier than this. As for the effect, I didn’t see any because I’m not using it long enough to see the effect. Only used it for less than 5 nights.
