Valentine’s Day 2007
Here’s our stall at Waterfront opposite of Hilton. The cosplayers helped to sell the roses and the plushies. Business wasn’t good. Too many people selling and the flowers were all in bad shape π because we got the wrong flowers. Most of the bouquets dried up due to the wrong type of flowers used. They were so fresh and pretty on the 13th.
Other stalls at Waterfront.
Left: Another stall at Waterfront bus stop.
Right: Our cosplayers at Padungan. Tried to sell all the roses. They only managed to sell two there.
Then later at night after they went home, we reduced the price to RM5 and most of our buyers were our own friends(-.-“). Then we tried to cleared it by giving it out free when people buy a soft toy but no one bought any soft toys. 2 stalks left and one was sold at RM3/stalk. The last stalk wasn’t sold. 9 stalks were damaged π because of the stupid small purple flowers that were wrapped together with the roses. They sucked up all the water of the roses. We suffered a loss lucky not much and good thing we didn’t take too many flowers.
I noticed that this year, not many people want to buy flowers as gift. They prefer things that are more practical. Me too. I’m happy if you give me flower but I’m happier if you give me CASH π or give me something practical. Do you know that the flowers cost a bomb and using that money, you can do better things with it? Too commercialised. I don’t care a damn about Valentine’s Day, there is no need to do all these things. You’ll get stuck in jam, eat overpriced dinners, buy overpriced gifts etc. Don’t see any point for it. Just stay at home and enjoy each other company is better. As long that you have the heart, any day can be Valentine’s Day.
Kenny Sia spotted with his girlfriend, Samantha. π Such a big bouquet she got. So sweet~~
Tabuan Jaya Chinese New Year Bazaar
Hehehe… Notice it or not? After 5 posts and still no sponsored post yet. π
If I’m not mistaken, today is the opening ceremony of Tabuan Jaya Chinese New Year Bazaar because when we had dinner at KFC, those “big people” went to KFC to have their refreshments at the second floor, the whole of second floor was reserved. At first I thought it’s the opening ceremony of the newly renovated KFC hahaha… The lion dance troop was following too but the lion dance was over, I thought I can take photos of lion dance as I had never taken any before and never blog about it too. Always missed the chance. Hmm.. I think I must go hunt for lion dance this CNY hehehe…
After our dinner, we walked around the bazaar and it’s was almost deserted. I was expecting heaps of people shopping there but see this…
I heard that it’s quite quiet at Padungan too. Business isn’t that good today.
Padungan Chinese New Year Bazaar
Lately I’m busy. Busy with THIS! YES! THIS! Hahahaha…
The views of the bazaar.
Nien and Wei decided to set up stalls at Padungan CNY Bazaar to sell cookies. Since they only sell cookies, Jimmy has this idea of selling more stuff. After our discussion, we decided to do seaweed twist for sale! So… I’ve been busy 3 days a week to get our seaweed twist ready.
Do come to visit our stalls. It’s situated near the police station π heheheh… Stall number is 42A. I’m not there every night however I’ll be helping out on 13th(maybe), 14th(definitely) and the last day 16th(maybe). Not only we did the seaweed twist ourselves, the cookies we’re selling also done by us π To be exact, not me hehehe… It’s Wei and Nien. They had been slaving away for the passed weeks to get the cookies ready and Jimmy helped them occassionally. Come and show your support if you want. We also help our friends selling some CNY decorations there. By the way, this event started on 8th February till 16th February nightly.
Left: More view…
Right: The stuffs that we’re selling.
The entrance and the exit to our very own China Town. I had forgotten to take pictures of the famous cat statue that just situated outside the entrance.
One more thing, we’ll be selling Valentine’s stuffs such as flowers(14th), cuddly toys(13th, 14th) there too. The price range from RM15-RM200, from 1 stalk of rose to a dozen. They are all nicely wrapped. You can order in advance and we can deliver them within Kuching to your darling with a service charge of RM5. If you would like to order, leave me a message and I’ll contact you for confirmation and details. During the day time, the cosplayers will be selling at Waterfront. Just look for teenagers that wear costumes or cosplayers.
That’s all. Hope you enjoy your Valentine’s and CNY preparations.
Kuching Bloggers’ Meet 2007
This is an open event. All Kuching’s bloggers are invited! It’s not a private meet! As long that you have a blog and you are in Kuching during the said date, do come to join us. π
I’m not sure I’ll be going or not. Usually I don’t join bloggers’ meet at night because it’s not that convenient for me to go out at night unless someone is willing to pick me up and can send me home by 10pm.
Important note to note is: “PAY FOR YOUR OWN FOOD & DRINKS”. I realised that Oregano is not like bing! or tao where you order and pay on the spot. I’m kinda worry that there are some irresponsible people taking advantages of this. Frankie, I think you have to let Oregano know before hand that for this bloggers’ meet, they should take payment once the food and/or drinks are served instead of settling the bill at the end of the meet. Just in case, some might forget to pay and leave, there are many cases like this.
Personally, I prefer private meet than open meet as it’s easier to control and it’s a much better way to know each other. When there are too many people, it’s going to be a bit hard. Anyway, hopefully it goes well. I’ll confirm later as I might have some CNY dinners to attend by then. Most importantly, when I manage to find someone who is willing to pick me up and leave early with me.
Anyone who is interested to join this meet, remember to RSVP Frankie at frankiecy [at] yahoo [dot] com
