Summary of My Singapore Trip

Posted on August 22, 2009August 23, 2009 By sweet surrender 3 Comments on Summary of My Singapore Trip

I’m back! Feel slightly relieve because I don’t have to take public transport, do not need to do so much of walking around, sleep on my own bed, and do whatever I like without worrying about making mistakes but at the same time not that happy to be back because I have to face stupid problem that’s been haunting me for quite a while and there is still no proper solution for it. Anyway, this will be story for another day.

I haven’t got the time to filter out who are the winners for the contest but I think the final questions are enough to let me make the decision. I’ll let you know the result soon. I was having tough time looking for prizes all over Singapore for the winners and ended up I have no idea which I should give for the winners as I bought quite a number along the way and kept changing my mind on what to give, some related to Singapore, some not related at all. I’m still deciding which prize to give ;p Thanks everyone for the support.

Just a quick summary(might miss out here and there), I haven’t go tru’ the photos yet:
Day 1: Off to Singpoare, 1 hour and 5 minutes flight with Tiger Airways, first time travel on it. Very noisy flight, don’t know why. Not only that, some of the passengers were really pain in the ass to handle, pitied the flight crews. Got a bit of shocked when reach the airport hahaha… It’s not what I had expected. More on it in coming post.

Day 2:
Cut my finger with the blister pack of my contact lens.
Off to Bugis, Suntec, City Hall, and Orchard Road. Bought something at Sephora, was excited to see Sephora in Singapore!
Cut my finger again, this time, my bag’s buckle.
Thanks to Simon for meeting us up at Suntec and later sent us to Orchard Road.

Day 3:
Go around Sembawang, bought a cardigan.
Then to Chinatown, Clark Quay, Robertson Quay, and The Merlion. Skipped Little India, too tired and lazy to navigate there. Bought something at Chinatown.
Almost fell down at Robertson Quay.
Thanks Simon and his gf for the ride and the dinner 😉

Day 4:
Dedicated the whole day for Sentosa. Bruised my knee and scratched my foot at Pelawan Beach.
Didn’t expect to buy 1 and a half set of bikinis there *LOL* When I tried them out, I saw the flab! OH NO!!! -.-” Have to get rid of it! More about it in coming post.
When on the way back to Vivo City, my whole right arm started to pain for no apparent reason that I cannot put any pressure or carry anything with it, I had to rely on my left hand to do everything -.-”
Went back after dinner at Vivo City and started packing.
Couldn’t really sleep because of the arm pain.

Day 5:
Final packing, off to the airport and again… Relied on my left hand to carry my luggage and so on, right hand and arm were still painful. Thought it got better the next day but after I carried my nephew, the pain came back.
Wanted to buy a duty free perfume as my first perfume but ended up bought nothing, really couldn’t part with my money even though knowing that I won’t be able to get the perfume here and those that I can get here are cheaper there.
The flight was a noisy one and the passengers were really “uncivilized”, I’m sure the crews are having really hard time handling these people. Managed to see nice clear view of Kuching from the sky before landing. For the first time in my life as usually either I’m sitting away from the window or weather or time didn’t permit it.

Overall, spent very little, thought will spend a lot, spent only about 20% or less of the money I brought. Oh well… Initial plan was interrupted so not much money was spent. Furthermore, can’t shop much in Singapore at all, most of the things are very expensive as in if you convert the money back to Ringgit.

That’s all for now 🙂 TONNES of photos to filter!! Wonder how long will it takes me to complete my “adventure” in Singapore.

Going Places

A Week to Go…

Posted on August 10, 2009August 10, 2009 By sweet surrender 9 Comments on A Week to Go…

Exactly one week from now, I’ll be going to Singapore for my 5 days trip. Finally got my SGD already. Exchange rate was 2.45

Won’t be shopping but eat, eat, eat, and do some touristy stuffs but with the haze and the heat, might spend most of the time indoor *LOL* In other word, shopping malls but cannot shop, can only drool. Haven’t do research on where to go and what to do.

Another randomness… Coming semesters until this year end, I will only have one subject to take coz I’m exempted from another one. I’ll be only having classes on Sunday. Saturday will be free! It’s not a good news sigh… I thought I could join the other batch for Saturday subject but who knows they will be taking the same subject as my batch. I thought I can finish the course maybe few months faster but with this arrangement, it cannot be done.

So I have this idea of joining the full-time class for 1 or 2 subjects. I have to pay more for joining the full time class but I don’t mind so long I can finish the course slightly earlier rather than wasting few semesters taking only one subject per semester is really not my cup of tea. 2 subjects per semester is just right for me, 1 subject per semester is just too little, I feel like I’m wasting my time.

After consulting with the person in charge, I can join the full time class for 1 subject every Tuesday morning until this November(full time class has more hours of class to attend for one subject and has more activities if not mistaken) by paying slightly more(I’m still double checking on the payment, will know tomorrow, I hope…).

I will miss a class this semester for the full time subject because I will be in Singapore when the class starts.

OH! It’s raining, at least it is slightly cooler…

Good night!

Family Trip to KL, January 2010

Posted on June 25, 2009June 25, 2009 By sweet surrender No Comments on Family Trip to KL, January 2010

The Air Asia flight ticket booking frenzy is here! I didn’t bother at first but damn… The travel bug was bugging me!

At first I was thinking of booking a flight to KK(only RM15!! Goodness! So cheap!) since I have classmate whose hometown is in KK so it will be easier for me to go there alone(remember I have no more travel companion and it’s not quite possible for me to go solo without worrying my parents), at least she can bring me around provided she will be free or at least I can tell my parents I’ll be there with my classmate but the thing is that there’s no cheap ticket for this year end(the preferred dates). I only found cheap ones for next year March and since I have no idea how’s the class will be next year, I can’t book any. So sad… Everyone is going to KK and I can’t go 🙁 Used to be very easy for me to plan my trip but now sigh…

I thought of giving up but then I still went on to search for cheap tickets with the possible dates that I might be free next year, my itchy fingers. Really crazy ;p I found Macau, only RM200+ for return trip!! Then I found Perth, only RM550+ for return trip!!

AIKS! Problem is that I can afford the tickets but I can’t afford to spend there *LOL* Unless darling will be at those places or if I got the keys *LOL* then I can stay for free *DREAM* but there is no way to know because it’s way too advance ;p. In fact, I can always go to HK from Macau to find my friends there, I can stay with them but it’s still not cheap to travel overseas. Furthermore, I got no idea of my class schedules for next year so it’s not possible at all.

Anyway, after thinking and thinking and thinking, I blurted out to my dad that going to KL only need RM50+ per person with Air Asia. He said that he’s thinking of going to Genting. Of course I told him it’s possible, fly to KL then go to Genting and we get to go to KL also since we’ve been talking about a family trip for ages! He gave me the green light to find the tickets.

I hunted for it and sadly none for the year end which was the initial plan as my bro will finish his SPM and I’ll be done with my exam also. Then when I’m thinking of giving up, I found cheap ones in January 2010! It’s on weekdays, only weekdays you can travel cheap so I told my parents and they told me to go ahead and buy the tickets.

TADA! After about 2 and half hour of trying to get tru’ the system.

Our trip is confirmed! Genting and KL we are coming! Family trip without my sis hahaha… Don’t care ;p She has her doses of traveling in UK all these years, this one is nothing for her *BLEK*.

Going for trip with my parents will mean I don’t have to pay for anything except when I do some CNY shopping for myself! Hehehe… Yikes… It seems like I’ve been doing CNY shopping almost every year in KL since 2006. Oh oh… Cham liao… ;p

Our flight tickets include 2 check-in luggage(return) and 4 meals(one way).

Will be hunting for places to stay in KL, too early to hunt now ;p I’ll be the tour guide by then. Usually people guide me and now I have to play the guide. Hopefully there won’t be any problem *LOL* Thinking of B&B instead of hotel. The B&B must have family room that can fit 4 of us and have attached bathroom. Any recommendation? I don’t want my dad to spend too much money on this trip.

I hope he won’t gamble too much at Genting -.-” This is what I’m quite worry about else the whole trip will be one very terrible family trip. Not to say that my dad likes to gamble, it’s just very common for anyone to gamble a bit too much in the casino and I hope he won’t be one of them.

So yeah… KL-Genting trip next year. Maybe KK will be next year during my semester break 😉

I want to go somewhere outside Malaysia but I can’t go alone, I need to have at least a travel companion sigh… Darling… Do you hear that?

Meet Me in Singapore?

Posted on June 23, 2009June 23, 2009 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on Meet Me in Singapore?

I’m sure most of you know that I’m going to Singapore this coming August. I’ll be there on the weekdays, 17th-21th August. I’ll be staying at my aunt’s place. Anyone in Singapore wants to meet up? Do let me know or e-mail me so that we can arrange the time.

My main aim going there this time is to hunt for food and maybe shop a bit but I’m not sure about this because I’m running low on money hahaha… I’ve been scouring Singapore food blogs for ideas. Hopefully my friend will be free to bring us around too. Anyone can recommend places that I must try out? Might visit some tourist spots if in the mood. I’ll be there with my sister.

I know many of you also booked your tickets to Singapore because there are tonnes of offers these days by various airlines. At least I know many people that I know are going to Singapore this year.

If you haven’t find a place to stay, there is Accor Hotels City Super Sale going on now and you should go check it out and take advantage of savings of up to 60% when you book online between 23 – 29 June, for stays between July 10 and September 30, 2009. There are over 250,000 room nights will be on sale, with rates starting as low as US$25 per night.

Bear in mind that these are luxurious hotels. You are paying for hotels with lots of stars ;p.

If you are not going to Singapore, there are also other hotels in other countries by Accor Hotels. Enjoy special hotel rates in 27 cities across 10 countries in Asia Pacific.

If I’m not that lucky to have an aunt staying in Singapore then I might consider taking up those offers, Ibis Singapore on Bencoolen might be on my list but if possible I would go for Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay. So don’t miss it out! The offer is only for a limited time only.

By the way, do you know that we will have a new hotel here in Kuching by Accor Hotels? Yes… Pullman Hotels. It will open September this year. It’s located at Interhill Place.

See you in Singapore!

The Great Escapade: My Fun Travel with MAS!

Posted on April 23, 2009April 24, 2009 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on The Great Escapade: My Fun Travel with MAS!

You know I just got my passport renewed right? As Calvin had mentioned, I’m going to collect stamps to fill up my passport within this 5 years. Will I be able to do so? I guess so. It’s quite possible because of MAS Stimulus Package and also because of someone *BLUSH*. Not only that, my sis will graduate next year and I might postpone my studies for one term to go around UK, just a plan, who knows?

Not only that, I also want to collect points for my Enrich card.

My first Miri trip in 2007 was with MAS. It was an early morning flight and the view from the window was breathtaking!

My first overseas trip, Singapore, was with MAS also, this was way back in 2003. It’s been a while. Too bad, no photos to share for this trip.

Ok… Let’s go back to my great escapade. My great escapade will be spending time with my someone. Since MAS is having 9 Stimulus Packages to choose from, I’ll go for Grab-A-Deal. I choose this is because I can enjoy exclusive bargains on various domestic and international destinations that are offered every day. I’m going to be 27 this year and studying part-time, I can be considered under the student group. I can, right? ;p

With my current situation, for me to be with my someone, I have to fly a lot if I’m going to spend time with him. It can be in Hong Kong, Perth, Beijing, Shanghai, Japan or just anywhere in the world. If I can’t get good deals for my flight tickets, I can’t visit him and you will see me in these faces…

Scary I tell you! It will be all over this blog!

I know you will say there will still be other airlines to grab deals but routes are limited. MAS has extensive routes to various countries. As I had mentioned my someone can be anywhere in the world at any time so it is important to get an airline that can fulfill my needs.

If we are getting married now, then we can have our honeymoon by getting the MH Flex 1+1 package. If we already have kid(s), we can go for Kids Fly Free package. Isn’t that great!?! All from MAS, all under one roof. *LOL* I’m dreaming… No harm to dream right?

Just something unrelated, do you know that I wanted to be an air stewardess in MAS last time? Too bad I’m not qualified, I’m too short hahaha…

Lastly, don’t come bombard me with questions about my someone! You will know when the time is right *BLEK*

“Man! That was great. This truly is the time to travel!”
