Hong Kong Noodle House @ Padungan (2)

Posted on August 26, 2007August 26, 2007 By sweet surrender 3 Comments on Hong Kong Noodle House @ Padungan (2)

Went for dinner at Hong Kong Noodle House at Padungan last week. I always have trouble on making up my mind on what to order. For the first time I couldn’t come out with anything to order -.-” So the waitress took the other orders first and mine later. Then for the first time I forgot all about the chili paste, only realised it after I’m almost done eating. Too bad… The chili paste wasn’t crunchy… Not “fresh”…

Left: Teochew Porridge Set(RM4). The porridge is only plain porridge. Oh well… Don’t think will order it again, don’t know how to say. Hahaha…
Right: Shredded Pork and Chili-Sauce Noodle(RM3.50). The pork tasted like “bak po”(BBQ pork meat slice). The colour is scary… Not spicy at all. Thanks Adrian *LOL* I misquoted it to be rice hahaha… So blur until rice and noodle also got mixed up.

Left: Pork Porridge(RM3.50). It’s just pork porridge 😛
Middle: Fried Tomato Noodle(RM4). Don’t like it.
Right: Fried Pork Rib With Rice(RM5), at the end, I order this. There’s another one with the same name as this also, those who don’t know how to read Chinese will not have much idea what its’ all about as the name in English are the same. The one I ordered has the Chinese word that said champagne. Not bad, quite nice.

Ting Noodle House

Posted on August 24, 2007August 24, 2007 By sweet surrender 7 Comments on Ting Noodle House

No idea where to go for lunch yesterday. So ended up at Ting Noodle House as we heard of many good feedback from people.

There were so many people that time. Almost full! You can see that the chef has recognition from Taiwan and some sort of nomination or award from an international organisation that deals with F&B. Impressive right?

I have no idea what to order. I always have difficulty ordering food at places that serve Chinese food.

Left: I ended up ordering this. I don’t know what it’s called in English, in Manadarin is “Cha Jiang Mien”(RM4.30). The vegetables are for you to mix with the noodle. The meat that you see inside the bowl is also for you to mix with the noodle as the noodle is plain. Hmm… Sorry… I don’t know bother about how many award or recognition they have on the wall, this one is really not my type, not to my liking. It took me quite some time to finish it. I didn’t enjoy it. Maybe there’re some ingredients that I don’t like in there but I don’t know what.

Right: Beef noodle(RM4.30) that is recommended by many people, according to them, the taste is quite authentic as of taiwan standard. I tried a bit of the brooth, hmmm… Like that lo~ it’s just beef noodle to me *LOL*

It could be that my tastebuds went seriously haywired yesterday. *SHRUG*

If you are wondering where this is, it’s at Ban Hock Road, same row as Mita Cake House.

Korean Da Om BBQ House

DAMN IT! Stupid Streamyx! Slowed down at the important hour! I saw the PPP’s USD50 opp!!! It’s WHITE! Clicked on it, wanted to reserve and loading damn slow next thing!??!?! GONE! Turned GREY!

Someone wanted to have his birthday dinner at Da Om on Monday. *LOL* He treated me to my belated birthday dinner there last year. So there we went and expecting something new but… STILL THE SAME! Hahaha…

The side dishes and rice. Last year we went, they only have 4 side dishes. This time they have 5. I still prefer the side dishes at Seoul Garden as the one we got here are mostly something we can easily get at home except the kimchi. Hmm… The kimchi tasted a bit odd this time…

The rice portion is quite small and I was expecting it to be RM1.50 or RM1 but it’s RM2 per bowl. It’s not included, you have to order separately.

We ordered steamboat, Bool Go Gi Jun Gol (RM30). This is not spicy. It’s on a sweeter note, a bit too sweet for my liking. The beef was nice though. However, it’s strange that I wasn’t full after that instead it’s the green tea that I ordered made me full. *LOL* I don’t know it’s the portion or I’m having a big appetite that night. 😛

The total spent for that night was RM37.20. I think the price is all right with such portion.

If you are wondering where is this place, it’s at Jalan Song.Very easy to find. If you can’t find, just ask people around there and they will tell you.

Tao Kae Noi

The voting has ended! I hope I can be one of the 5 winners. Thanks to everyone that had voted for Catscity.

This is one of my favourite snacks. I know… I know… You don’t have to tell me that a female Singporean blogger had blogged about it ages ago. I got addicted to this even before she got hooked with it. Just that I didn’t blog about it.

How I came across this snack? Actually my bro bought it from a Supermarket here. I’ve tried the hot & spicy and wasabi flavoured. That day I was craving for it, so went to buy it at Watsons as they have offer for it, summore it’s bigger packet than the one that we used to buy.

One packet cost RM6+ and two packets were only RM9+. So I took one orignal and one hot & spicy. When it’s time to pay the money, %#@$&()^ There’s no offer at all! GOSH! I felt so cheated. I found out that the offer only applied to 2 packets of the same flavour. Damn expensive! Supposed to save money but ended up spent more than I expected. So not worth it! What to do… Sigh…

Put that aside, now let’s the how it looks like. It’s not like the usual seaweed snacks that you usually see in the market. The texture is different too. First few sheets tasted kinda odd but after that you could get hook! Really don’t know how to describe. I can only tell you that I like it hahaha…

For your information, the product is made in Thailand not Japan. Hahaha…

Dao Huei

Posted on August 16, 2007August 18, 2007 By sweet surrender 6 Comments on Dao Huei

Some called it “dao huei” or “dao hua”, I called it “dao hu hua” 😛 In Mandarin, it’s called “dou hua”. Used to buy them at Kenyalang.

It’s nice. I love it with syrup. Some people have it with gula Melaka or brown sugar syrup. There are many ways to have it but I still prefer the old school way, I believe it’s with plain syrup. The “dao huei” itself is kinda tasteless but if you savour it carefully, you can taste the soya bean taste. Love it, love it!

Can I say it’s soya bean pudding in English? Hahaha… Don’t think you can get this in any San Diego restaurants.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
