Pizza & More

Posted on March 24, 2009March 25, 2009 By sweet surrender 6 Comments on Pizza & More

Always wanted to go there for months and finally got the chance for it. It was our first time there. It’s quite empty in there. The ambiance is nice, I like it but just a bit stuffy, maybe they didn’t on all the air-cons. It’s located at Jalan Abell, same row as Air Asia. Very easy to find.

Left: It’s ex-Italiano. I’ve never been to Italiano but I think the interior should be the same.

Right: Ice Black Tea, Lemon flavour (RM2.30), it tasted like ice lemon tea ;p The other drink is Ice Milo with no sugar (RM4).

Left: White Coffee (RM2.50)

Right: The pizza we ordered! two thumbs up! LOVE IT! This is Pinnochio (RM19.80), Margherita topped with mushrooms, anchovies, turkey ham and pepperoni. The portion can be shared among 3-4 people or 1-2 people if you’re big eater.

Left: Beef Lagsana (RM16.80), topped with minced beef, cheese, tomatoes and cream. You can share this also depending on how many people you are dining with. 3-4 people is just nice if you don’t want to eat too full and want to try out other things.

Right: Fish & Chips (RM12.80), nothing much to rave for this.

Four of us dined there and we split the cost. Frankly, I don’t like to order individual food for own consumption, I prefer sharing. This way, you can save some cost and you can try more food. Well… Provided those that you go with are not picky eaters and are open to try anything.

We spent RM60.20 last night. No 5% GST.

I’m not sure this place is halal or not.

Here’s the contact and opening hours.

Quite a nice place to go and the food is good.

Taipei 101

Posted on March 21, 2009March 20, 2009 By sweet surrender 7 Comments on Taipei 101

Late birthday dinner for my bro as his birthday was in his exam week. My mom suggested to dig tru’ My Privilege Book to see whether there is any offer can be used or not. My bro and I flipped tru’ the whole thing and decided on Taipei 101 because we’ve never been there and the food type is the type that my dad can accept.

The drinks are very reasonable and very huge glass, luckily only ordered two glasses. Even just two glasses were enough to take quite a while to finish. Ordered Lemon Lime Juice(RM3) and Red Sour Plum Red Tea(RM3).

Left: 3 Layer Pork with Rice (RM6)
Right: Taiwan Dry Noodle (RM3.50), the Chinese name is funny, it’s called “Stupid Noodle” ;p Just basic noodle.

Left: Taiwanese Stewed Beef Noodle (RM6)
Right: Sesame Oil Chicken Mee Sua (RM6)

Left: The chili oil with hint of sweet aroma but it’s not sweet at all. Very sipcy.
Right: The contacts on the menu.

My dad quite like this place. I think we might go back once in while. To me, it’s just another place serving another Chinese food. *LOL* What to do? Not really a Chinese food fan.

It’s located at RH Plaza, same row as EON Bank. You can even see Four Points from the glass window.

Many people complaint about the menu last time because there’s no translation in English but now the menu is in dual-language.

That night we only spent RM21+ after the 15% birthday month discount found in My Privilege Book.

Red Bean, Black Sesame & More @ Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

Posted on March 19, 2009March 19, 2009 By sweet surrender No Comments on Red Bean, Black Sesame & More @ Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

Went for food testing session yesterday afternoon at Green Heights Mall’s Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. I was quite blurred and wasn’t really concentrating. My body was there but my mind was somewhere else which caused me to be kinda quiet when I was there. Before that, I overshot the junction as I took the flyover, shouldn’t be taking the flyover. Then after the session, I almost rammed my car to the divider and street light as I estimated the u-turn wrongly somewhere near the Petronas at Green Heights *SWEAT* The heat wasn’t helping also, such a lousy day.

Anyway, I’m back in one piece and let’s see what we had:

Left: The interior of Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at Green Heights Mall.

Right: Lasagna, layers of pasta, minced chicken, Italian tomato sauce, baked with a topping of Cheddar cheese. Very tasty, I really love this but I can’t possibly finish this one plate myself, I think maybe you can share with one or two friends. I’m not sure about the price but according to their website, it’s RM16.90, this could be West Malaysia’s price.

Left: Ice Blended Red Bean Green Tea, quite sweet but it’s tolerable for me. The green tea is blended with red beans.

Right: Ice Blended Black Sesame Green Tea, not as sweet as the previous one. I prefer this. The black sesame is blended with the green tea. Reminded me of the black sesame ice cream I had few months back, kinda miss it.

Left: Coffee Bean’s Classic Caesar Salad consists of Romaine lettuce, eggs and garlic croutons tossed in a light Caesar dressing with Parmesan cheese. Not so bad for this, in fact it’s quite filling due to the egg and cheese. I think it’s great for sharing. The price stated in the site is RM15.50, again this could be West Malaysia’s price.

Right: Marshmallow Chocolate Mousse Cake, the new cake that is now available. No idea of the price though. I love it, very chocolatety but not too sweet. Quite moist too. There’s also blueberry in the layers.

So that’s all for today. Have to get ready for this coming weekend exams!

Turtle Eggs

Posted on March 18, 2009March 19, 2009 By sweet surrender 22 Comments on Turtle Eggs

OK! I know some people is going to flame me for this post but before you want to do so, please read the content carefully before you say anything. What I need here is your help and not your whatever oh-so-mighty lectures. I know I might be making a fool of myself or something for posting this but you better don’t make a fool of yourself here when commenting. Thank you!

I don’t encourage people to eat turtle eggs and it’s wrong!

I’ve been thinking whether I should post about it or not for more than a year because it’s obviously illegal to consume turtle eggs.

Seeing it in the newspapers last week or so about turtle eggs being served in a banquet really blew me off my mind because it was in a banquet attended by our beloved law enforcers. HOW CAN? Personally I know some people that like to eat these eggs but they don’t do it publicly with all those publicities.

Tell me what will you do?

If you are given with turtle eggs, already cooked, will you eat them or throw them away? Now here’s the problem, it’s already cooked, so how?

If you are given with turtle eggs that are not cooked yet, what will you do? What should we do? This answer will be able to help us save some of the turtles instead of going into the cooking pots.

I’m not afraid to admit that I ate turtle eggs before. Was first introduced to them 20 years ago. We don’t like them at all from the beginning, the yolk is sandy and the egg white is GROSS to the max. It’s different from chicken egg, the egg white just doesn’t become solid, it’s slimy. However, the problem came when it’s given to us cooked. People would give us once in a blue moon. What should we do? Throw them away? The thing is that they’re cooked, you can’t do much, will you eat?

I don’t know really… They’re cooked, so might as well eat them? Throw away will be a waste.

What you see in the photo(photos taken years back) are already cooked. Was given to us after it’s cooked. Ended up we very relunctantly ate them and it’s YUCKY! Even with all the sauces and so on to cover up the smell and the texture. The thing was that, they were cooked, furthermore they can be eaten, it’s food, you don’t throw food away right? This is the dilemma. Sigh…

I know I’m taking a huge risk of posting it here. Can anyone tell me, what should I do? If it’s you, what will you do?

HOW!??! As it seems like now is the season and who knows people might give them(especially cooked ones) to us again so I need to know what we should do besides telling them not to give us anymore. What else can we do? You know sometimes you cannot reject on things certain people give you. Any good way to let them know that this is a serious matter? They know it’s wrong, tell them it’s wrong won’t help, they already know it’s wrong but still buy them. What else can you tell them?

AGAIN! I have to stress that I do not encourage eating of turtle eggs, it is WRONG! It’s illegal! I need to know what is the next step to do when given with cooked or fresh turtle eggs.

Crown City Cafe 2000

Posted on March 17, 2009March 17, 2009 By sweet surrender 10 Comments on Crown City Cafe 2000

Last Saturday, my parents decided to go out to have lunch because mom was not in time to cook. We went out quite late and many places that we planned to go were closing for lunch. So my dad brought us to Crown City Cafe 2000, located at Ang Cheng Ho, opposite Goodrich, the shoplot behind Kuching Park Hotel, same row as Spring Garden and Travillion Sin Chiew Chicken Rice.

My dad went there to eat before, he had their fried rice, he said that it was good but too bad when we were there, fried rice was out of stock. If not mistaken this coffeeshop was known as 88 Cafe.

We ended up ordered Pork Leg Noodle(RM4) and Kueh Chap(RM3.50). Nothing much to rave for both, just so-so.
