What can I say? Real Fresh Skin Detoxer is Awesome 😚! Apply it in the morning(Rose) and night(Green Tea), then step into the shower, lather it up by wetting your hands, and rinse it off. You will be ready for your morning and night makeup and skincare routine. Skincare products absorb easily and makeup goes on with ease. Saving so much time. Face feels a bit tight after using it but immediately follow with your usual skincare routine will take care of it. To avoid feeling tight, do everything fast! Hahah! Means you'll shorten your morning and night beauty routine time by doing everything fast 🤣 make sense? I've been using it for more than a week exclusively replacing my usual facial cleanser after makeup remover. Really love it. Sometimes, I used the wrong one for the time of the day haha because too tired, didn't look, just grabbed. Only to realized wrong one was used. It's ok, not a problem. I will blog about it soon. #altheaangels #altheakorea #skincare #skincareproducts #koreanskincare #facialmask #facialwash #beautyreview #beautybloggers #rose #greentea #review #selfie #girl #asiangirl

Rainforest World Music Festival 2017

Posted on August 16, 2017August 16, 2017 By sweet surrender No Comments on Rainforest World Music Festival 2017

Finally my blog is back after a long down time. This post supposed to be posted before it was down, didn’t make it in time *LOL*

RWMF 2017 happened last month, 14-16th July. It’s my third time joining. The first time was there as a blogger. Second and third were for official duty.

Happening every year at Sarawak Cultural Village. This year is the 20th anniversary of Rainforest World Music Festival.

Many green initiatives involved such as tree planting and sorting of garbage. More food choices as well, even Japanese, Korean, and Indonesian food can be found there.

I’ll just let the photos do the talking.

I do not have any night performance photos hahaha yet that is the climax of the festival 😛 What to do… My camera and phone couldn’t take proper photos with low light. Was on duty also entertaining my guests.

You can view them and read more from the official website rwmf.net

There workshops being conducted in various house in the village.

Aside from that, lots of handicrafts for sale.

The last photo showing Dom Flemons from USA, he sure has his fan base. Once he was out from the theater, his fans were waiting for him eagerly. They bought his CDs and asked him to sign.

Next year? We’ll see… Will I be there?

MBO The Spring Makeover

Posted on January 31, 2016February 1, 2016 By sweet surrender No Comments on MBO The Spring Makeover

For months, MBO was undergoing a series of renovation. It’s now ready for movie goers to experience a whole new experience.

Was invited to the launch of MBO The Spring Makeover yesterday. We get to experience the Premier Lounge and Hall. Also, the first and only Auro 3D sound system in Sarawak which is only available in Hall 5, so does the Premier seating. Mariam Yazmin El-Bacha, the operations Director, was there to brief us on the whole new experience of MBO.

The makeover…

There’s also a cafe at the lobby area known as Cafecito. I forgot to take photos of the area. While waiting for your movie to start, just hang out at the cafe with great drinks, cakes, and snacks. There will be a kids’ playground built too soon.

Do sign up the loyalty programme either online or on the spot to enjoy special offers, benefits, and privileges. It’s FOC!

Official Makeover Launch of MBO Cinemas – The Spring by Mariam Yazmin El-Bacha. Joanne Kam Poh Poh, the Queen of Comedy, was also there for the launch. This is my first time seeing her in person.

Here’s a short video of Joanne’s performance:

Gonna start my CNY baking project tomorrow. 😉

RWMF 2014

Posted on June 21, 2014June 24, 2014 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on RWMF 2014

Can you believe this is the first time I go to RWMF (Rainforest World Music Festival)? Believe it! If you’ve been following me, you know I’ve never been there in the past.

This year, I was finally there! Last night! Mainly because we got free passes and it’s partially work related. So off we went right after work taking the shuttle from where I work to Sarawak Cultural Village. Knowing me, I won’t go if I have to pay for the pass and if I am required to drive hahaha… That’s me. That explains why. Another reason is also because I’m not really into getting into the crowd. Well, at least I paid for the shuttle ticket, RM30 for return.

Another thing, can you believe it that I’ve not been to Damai/Santubong area for at least 5 years?!? Hehehe… WOW! It’s so different already! The sunset was quite nice yesterday and good thing the weather was good. The bus stopped at Damai Central.

The view of Damai Central in the evening. Food stalls were set up to accommodate the crowd of the festival and Freedom Beach 2014.

We ate our dinner here. Much more choices and cheaper than inside the Sarawak Cultural Village. Tried the Chicken kebab (RM4), surprisingly quite nice, not bad.

After dinner, off we went in to the festival. My virgin experience at RWMF. Good thing the crowd wasn’t big last night likely because Friday is still a working day. It’s a good thing for me hehehe… I dislike crowd… Guess which one is mine?

Left: Booth setup by STB to promote Sarawak.

Right: Big screens were erected around the Village so that festival goers could view it from other locations rather than all gather at the stage area which might not be able to accommodate crowd.

Heineken bars were setup around the area. This year, you can only find Heineken there, not other beer. The setup reminded me of the Fringe Festival back in Adelaide.

The main stage area. We didn’t join the crowd here. We, three mixed parentage girls (Bidayuh, Iban, and Kayan + Chinese) from the same workplace in black tops, just wanted to find a place to sit and drink to relax after got what we wanted. No photos ;p it’s in my friend’s phone.

The Melanau house which you can find in Sarawak Cultural Village.

Finally we’re here at this area. I would say it’s the best area especially where we sat, next to Heineken bar.

The screen is just right in front of us, only one table, only us. How nice! Drank one can only. Not a beer person but casually it’s fine. First time in my life finishing one whole can on my own ;p RM10/can.

Before going back, last shoot of the stage.

The music was great, it’s not bad but attending this kind of event is not my kind of thing though. However, as long that I don’t have to pay, don’t have to drive, I don’t mind *LOL*

The Journey, Coming 30th Jan 2014

Posted on November 4, 2013November 4, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on The Journey, Coming 30th Jan 2014

Aiks… The 4th day of November, 2013 is ending real soon! Was rather occupied last week. Finally get to update this post now.

Last Friday, I was invited to interview The Journey’s director and watched the documentary of The Journey known as End Credits at GSC CityOne. It was also one eventful night that got me so damn stress out and almost cried my way home while driving. Long story cut short, I was not only lost in CityOne but also when I was on my way home. ARG!! That moment, all I think of was if only I have a bf then I don’t even have to be so lost! I know… I know… Crazy thoughts… Totally unrelated *LOL*

Anyway, back to the main topic.

This is Director Chiu Keng Guan and I with the novel inspired by the movie, The Journey. You know how usually movie is made based on a novel but this is the other way round.

Let’s talk about the making first, End Credits. Was lucky to be one of them to watch it.

The making of the Nation Movie tells a remarkable tale of how a group of golden-agers with no professional experience in acting ended up playing leading roles in the much-anticipated movie, which is directed by Chiu Keng Guan. To keep a record of their life-changing experience, Astro is pleased to present “End Credit”, a 90-minute documentary directed by Bak Chee Hong. The documentary captures the behind the scene moments of how the elder actors, namely Uncle Frankie (an art enthusiast in real life), Uncle Khong (an avid bird photographer), Uncle Meng (a sports enthusiast) and Uncle Huat (an owner of beef noodle stall), acted out their roles with passion and heart.

Film production might seem like a wild dream to most of the people, yet, there was this group of elders chose to go beyond their age limits, and marched on to realize their aspirations. Most of the retirees have never involved in acting or film production before. Their dedication and perseverance were highly driven by their hearts filled with passion. Their over-brimming energy serves as the best testimony showing that age is nothing but a number.

It’s so heart-warming and close to our heart. Tears inducing too! I am very sure Malaysians will be able to relate to it very well. I’m sure the movie would be even more awesome! Looking at how everyone, young and old, all involved in the movie making, it was amazing! Kudos to all those who took part in the production.

Now, let’s go to the movie, The Journey.

The movie incorporates motifs such as family, friendship and cultural values in a light-hearted and heart-warming approach for audiences of all ages, featuring 73-year-old amateur actor Frankie Lee, winner of Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant 2007 Joanne Yew, and Australian stage actor Ben Pfeifer.

The story revolves around a conservative father who reluctantly agrees to his daughter’s marriage to a Caucasian man and insists to host a traditional Chinese wedding for the sake of his reputation to celebrate this union. Together with his son-in-law to-be, he then embarks on a road trip around Peninsular Malaysia to send invitation cards by hand. Along the journey, their strained relationship undergoes a subtle change.

While setting against the backdrop of picturesque landscape at Cameron Highlands, Penang, Kedah, Melaka, to name a few, The Journey also intersperses portrayals of uniquely local Chinese culture and lifestyles such ‘Pai Ti Kong’ (Worship of Heaven) at the Clan Jetty, Penang, and the Chingay Parade in Johor.

Chiu also revealed that Astro has a plan to host gala premieres for The Journey in each and every state of the country simultaneously in January 2014.

The highlight of the movie is the hot air balloon. It’s handmade by all those in the production and guess what it’s made of? Plastic bags and cellophane tape!

In End Credits, looking at their perseverance and dedication just to make the balloon fly moved me to tears! They failed many times. Imagine such hard work, making the balloon and when you wanted to get it to fly, it was torn while going up and damaged even more when it got hooked on the basketball net and tore even further when they brought it down. The balloon is 80 feet tall and with the width of 50 feet! 100% handmade by common people! At the end, finally when it can be flown, two uncles managed to take a ride on it for the sake of the movie.

All the settings were not just setups but it’s real events (Pai Ti Kong in Penang and Chingay Parade at Johor), there’s no rest for them during Chinese New Year too. The shooting went on in order to capture the real atmosphere of Malaysia’s unique celebrations.

If you would like to watch it, be sure to mark your calender, 30th January 2014, CNY’s eve, at major cinemas in Malaysia. I highly recommended it.
