The Weather

Posted on July 23, 2010July 23, 2010 By sweet surrender No Comments on The Weather

The weather in Kuching is kind of weird lately. Usually at this time of the year, it’s really hot and we’ll be attacked by haze. However, this year, it rains and rains.

It will be quite hot in the morning, then towards the afternoon, gray clouds started to show. Not long later it will start to rain. It will be on and off, big or small, sun or no sun. So, the nights are quite cooling and nice to sleep but I only go to bed every night after 1am. Sigh… I wanted to sleep early but kept having things that came last minute that needs my attention. Good thing I don’t work 8-5 or 9-5, so I can wake up late.

However, it won’t be for long. End of August, I have to wake up very very early for at least 40 days, so much earlier than I went to school last time. I have to reach the place before 7am! Some more, so far from my place! GAH! Hate that.

That will mean I cannot go to bed late also else I will be totally disoriented. I usually only wake up around 9 or 10am, been doing this for years ;p Dread, dread, dread, dread waking up so early hehehe… It won’t be for long because I won’t be able to wake up so late too starting next year.

I’m talking about weather and sleep! I’m too bored until I have to talk about them, am I that boring? *LOL*

Anyway, trying to head to bed early tonight. *cross my fingers*

Jacob’s Club Cake Bar

Posted on July 22, 2010July 23, 2010 By sweet surrender No Comments on Jacob’s Club Cake Bar

Jacob’s Club Cake Bar is not too sweet unlike the cake bar that we get here in Malaysia which are not only dry but sugar laden too.

Inside this big package consists of 10 individually packed moist sponge cake with a layer of chocolate flavoured cream, covered in smooth milk chocolate.

The white portion is the sponge cake. Above the sponge cake, there’s a layer of chocolate flavoured cream. I was expecting a thicker layer. I almost didn’t notice the layer of chocolate flavoured cream until I examined it closely. The milk chocolate that is coating the cake was not bad.

I quite like it. Too bad, we can’t get it here. It’s available in Tesco in UK.

Cheezels Biskitz

Posted on July 21, 2010July 22, 2010 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Cheezels Biskitz

Cheezels Biskitz is one of the latest products by Kraft. Bought it few weeks back because it seems nice to eat.

I bought Chili Cheese flavour. Was expecting the biscuits to have the taste of chili cheese but it’s actually the powder that coated it. However, it stated there that it’s cheese biscuits. I guess maybe the powder empowered the biscuit? *shrug*

Anyway, I’ve been snacking on it and still not accustomed to its taste and texture. I would say it’s weird. The size is small enough to be popped into the mouth though.

Don’t think I’ll buy again or maybe I’ll try the other flavours next time.

My New Sunglasses

Posted on July 20, 2010July 21, 2010 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on My New Sunglasses

My sunglasses spoiled long time ago. I decided to ask my sister to get a pair for me when she went back to UK with my parents since there’s summer sales going on. Great time to shop ;p Branded and quality stuffs were so much more cheaper than what we have here. Even with all the discounts going on here, it’s not going to go any lower than over there.

My dad almost went on a shopping spree. If not because of my mom stopping him, he would be coming back with tonnes of branded stuffs which he didn’t even want to touch back home. That’s because with the budget that he is willing to spend here can actually get him better quality products there for example a pair of shoes. He will never bother to check out on Clarks here but he bought a pair there, discounted price and still much cheaper than back here after discount. Some more his size was available!

I was even told that he wanted to buy a branded matching set of luggage/bag for my mom and I but my mom stopped him from buying. Now… I guess he understands how my sister has been spending his money all these years ;p

Let’s say I have RM80. Here, I can’t get anything decent but lousy quality clothes; there, with RM80 I could get more than one branded clothes and better quality of course. Well, this only applies when you do not purposely fly there to shop, I’m not that rich *LOL* A return trip costs about RM4000+/person!

Anyway, back to the sunglasses.

Took her quite awhile to find one for me after going around the UK. She ended up getting me a Pilgrim. It was on discount. Original price was almost £80, after discount, it’s only £12+. Can you even get such price here?!?

Hehehe… Camwhored!

Next, my dad bought another two pairs from Boots at Newcastle airport. It was on some sort of offer, if not mistaken it was buy 2 pairs at the price of 1. So… I got 3 pairs of sunglasses! I don’t think I’ll use all of them, gonna give one pair to my brother. Original price was £22/pair.

Something different there…

Camwhored again! ;p Ignore the price tags hehehe…

Another pair, just a normal pair, silver in colour.

That’s how I ended with 3 pairs of sunglasses when I only asked for one. At least it’s useful, I seriously need it next year.

Shopaholic & Baby

Posted on July 19, 2010July 20, 2010 By sweet surrender No Comments on Shopaholic & Baby

I’m sure those who like to read or frequent the bookstores will know about Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella. I’m not keen to invest in such book or any type of book as I’m more of a magazine type of person. I haven’t really read a book for let’s see… Almost a decade? *LOL*

Few days back, my parents got back from their UK trip and took out this book from the luggage. I stared with disbelief and was thinking why on earth they bought this book all the way from UK?!?!

Was told that it belonged to my sis’ friend who didn’t want the book anymore and wanted to throw it away. My dad decided to keep it and brought it back after seeing the printed price (£17.99) on the book hahaha… In fact, they did bring some other “junks” back, this is just one of them. That will be story for other days or there’ll never be one ;p

I’m thinking of selling them off if anyone wants them. If not I’ll just keep it along with my book/novel collection somewhere in the cupboard collecting dust in which they’re all given to me by people, I don’t think I had bought any book/novel. Rest assure that I did finish reading every single one of them way back when I was still in school except my college and uni textbooks *LOL*

I started reading a bit of it yesterday. My first time reading a chick-lit novel, I usually just flipped through at the bookstore because of the cover design. I used to read those detective or adventure novels when I was in primary and secondary school but never this kind.

I’m done with the first two chapters and I’m not sure I’m going to finish the whole book. I can’t seem to find the time for it. There are too many other more interesting things and works to be done. We’ll see how it goes.

The book is quite easy to read. I think I can finish it in 24 hours if I don’t have do anything for the whole 24 hours.

Are you interested in collecting this book as your collection? Do let me know 😉

By the way, remember the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic? I did watch it, it was quite funny and for those who don’t know(I’m sure you all know), the film is an adaptation of the Shopaholic series of novels.

Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
