Poppies – Mommy Chapter

Posted on April 29, 2008April 28, 2008 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on Poppies – Mommy Chapter

After seeing the things for babies, we must not forget about the mommies also. Daddies should from time to time pamper the mommies. Without them, you won’t have your babies. Hahaha… Let’s see what you can give to your wife to make her feel that you love and care and play an active role for your children.

Left: Some all time favourite pregnancy and childbirth books are available.
Right: Breast pumps for mommies. For some guys, you must be wondering what is this for. Hahaha… It’s for your wife to pump the breast milk out to store in bottles for your kids! Got it??!?! Breastfeeding is good for your baby and personally I strongly support breastfeeding. 🙂 I’m not breastfed last time, I was fed with S26, formulated milk that was quite popular back then, now there are many brands available.

Pregnant women also want to feel pretty, deserve to wear nice clothings too. Poppies also offer maternity clothings. In May, there will be a fashion show and talks for parent-to-be and various activities by Poppies at tHe Spring. I will keep you updated about it.

Your wife deserves to be pampered with beauty and health products that do not contain harmful substances to the baby. Oh My Sweetness!!(I’m going to use this from now in instead of OH My Goodness or OMG hahaha…) Anything that is safe for pregnant ladies are safe for you are me. So if you are looking for lotions, creams, shower gels, lipbalms, soaps and so on that are safe for use, you can get these, they are all quality products imported from US, Aus, NZ and UK. Told you this shop is for everyone hahaha…

It’s a mommy friendly shop where you can use the diaper changing room or nursing room to change your baby diaper or breastfed your baby in there.

Poppies carries wide range of products for mommies from the time she got pregnant to after the baby is born. I only show you some here, there are also baby slings, nursing pads, bras, pillows, maternity sanitary pads, surgical ring cushions and so on. Check them out at Poppies. I’m sure you will find what you need there.

Next up… Things for older babies, kids and big kids like us!! WAKAKA… I saw some nice stuffs there… Can someone buy for me? Please… *BLEK*

Poppies – Baby Chapter

Posted on April 28, 2008April 29, 2008 By sweet surrender 9 Comments on Poppies – Baby Chapter

Poppies is a type of flower. Did you know there’s another meaning for it? You know how the locals here like to called babies “ang gugu”? People overseas will call their babies “poppies”. Interesting, I didn’t know this until I visited Poppies at tHe Spring to see what they have to offer. It’s a new shop that sells stuffs for babies, children, mommies and also the big kids like us hahaha… Was honoured to be invited to feature this place in my blog by My Privilege Book and Poppies. I went there yesterday with few more Kuching Bloggers. They were Alex and Deluxe, Anna, Cherlyn, Edwin, and Jimmy.

I’m sure if we don’t have children or babies or intend to shop for friend’s baby shower and so on, you won’t be stepping into this shop. How wrong was I. I will split this post into parts to share with you the interesting stuffs that I found in there. This shop is for everyone!!

Left: Do check out the islands to find great offers that they have from time to time. Every Wednesday, they will have some special offers on certain products. It’s a good time to go and look around on stuffs for your poppies hehehe…
Right: Kids will surely be bored, so they can play here but of course must have someone looking after them, don’t leave them there alone to play.

Things for your baby’s bedroom. You can get cots, mattress, pillows, cradles, blankets and so much more!! Spoilt for choices hahaha… Cuteness overdose also hahaha…

Clothes for babies are available also.

These had grabbed our attention! It’s stockings!! Hehehe… So cute!! Great for gift.

Things for feeding your babies. Major brands are available here such as Avent, Chicco etc. You can get stuffs from UK, US, NZ or Aus here. You don’t have to fly to KL for it anymore. This is why the owner started this business as she had problem looking for things for her baby last time. The first shop is located in Sibu, I’m sure those living in Sibu will know Poppies. This is the second shop, opened in March in tHe Spring.

Milk powder and diapers are essentials for babies. It’s never cheap but you can get benefits from Poppies if you are their member. Signing up as a member only require RM30 for lifetime membership, no annual renewal, no expiration of points. RM1=1 point and you can use these accumulated points to get freebies or enjoy special offers. Special card is given to you to record down the number of milk powder and diapers that you had purchased. With 10 stamps collected, you are entitle for selected offer.

Car seats and strollers. We were told that you must start putting your baby on car seat as early as possible so that when he/she got older, he/she will get used to the idea and won’t make a fuss about it. Start early is the key.

Baby food from Australia. Very colourful hehehe… Wanna try?

Phua Chu Kang Overloaded

Posted on April 27, 2008April 27, 2008 By sweet surrender 11 Comments on Phua Chu Kang Overloaded

That’s what irks me so much! All you need to do is shut up, once you open up your mouth, thing always become oh so arrogant and wrong.

Went too tHe Spring yesterday to catch Phua Chu Kang in action. You can still see him today at 4pm at tHe Spring. Just to warn you, it will be packed! You might not be able to find parking also hahaha… So, go early!

Let’s see Phua Chu Kang now. He came to Kuching in conjuction of Uniquely Singapore Carnival.

He’s here! He’s here! I didn’t go crazy over him hahaha… I just stood there do my work as a blogger. *LOL*

Phua Chu Kang overloaded… I’m sure you will see him all across the blogsphere in Kuching.

Contestants of Phua Chu Kang wannabe.

Some Q&A session, participants were picked randomly from the crowd.

See someone familiar in there? The middle picture? It’s Samantha! Hehehe… She didn’t know we’re down there. Anna was there with us, she did win a cap but she didn’t go up the stage, she just answered the question down the stage.

The last picture is the winner of Phua Chu Kang wannabe. After that, he sang a song… OH MY! He got really good voice! He sang Mandy, the song that Westlife sings. The one singing is not Phua Chu Kang anymore 😛 It’s Gurmit Singh!

Here’s the videos:

RM3 Shock @ Happy Valley

Posted on April 26, 2008November 21, 2008 By sweet surrender 6 Comments on RM3 Shock @ Happy Valley

Went to Happy valley to accompany my friend to dinner again *LOL* Since it’s day time, so we took the opportunity to take photos of the newly renovated Happy Valley. The air-conditioned section is the new addition to Happy Valley just opposite Crown Square.

The interior is very special but not so user friendly *LOL* You have to be careful when you walk around there as you might accidentally fall into the small “river”. There are fish in there and mini waterfall too. There isn’t proper walking area to go over the other side of the “river” except you make a big step to the other side *LOL*

Left: Just random photo of the decorations.
Right: Ribena(RM2.50) and Lime Juice(RM2.50)

Left: Curry Chicken Rice, not sure is RM4.50 or RM5. Pretty spicy for me.
Right: The shocking factor… This tiny plate of tidbits that cost us RM3! We didn’t know they will charge or not until we paid the bill. Was told by some friends that this RM3 is a must to pay even if you don’t eat the tidbits. Phew… Luckily we “cleaned” it up *LOL* They referred to it as table charge.

WAH LAU EH… Just to let you know. Don’t be like us. Got shocked when we settled the bill that was not supposed to exceed RM10. So that’s all. Remember that they will charge you RM3 table charge when you’re there next time.

Posted on April 25, 2008April 25, 2008 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Breakfast @ Petanak Kaya & Toast

This is my first time having breakfast at Kaya & Toast at Petanak. Went there with some friends after my photoshoot last Sunday. What photoshoot?!?! 😛 Hehehe… I know many of you will be asking but I’m sure many of you already knew about it and seen the photos already hehehe… I haven’t post it in this blog because I’m kinda occupied lately to filter those photos to show you hehehe…

OK… Back to our breakfast. Went there becuase can claim free tea/coffee with My Privilege Book. Oh by the way, go join sarawakian.net contest to win prizes ok?!??! The deadline is coming soon, 30th April is the final day to submit. QUICK!

This is Pazuzu’s breakfast, soft boil eggs, hot tea(I think), and toast. It’s a set.

Left: Jimmy’s curry rice(RM6.90 if not mistaken)
Right: My curry noodle(RM6.90), not bad, quite nice.

Allen’s chai kueh, don’t know how to called it in English. Everyone called this chai kueh. It’s a type of local delicacies from the Chinese community that is very popular among Sarawakian. I’m not sure whether other parts of Malaysia has this or not hahaha… Out of sudden can’t recall. This is my first time feature chai kueh in my blog hahaha…

By the way, the photos were taken with my phone, K800i.

Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
