tHe Spring Spring & Summer Fashion Show 2009 – Ms. Read

Posted on May 6, 2009May 7, 2009 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on tHe Spring Spring & Summer Fashion Show 2009 – Ms. Read

Next up after G2000 fashion show, it was Ms. Read fashion show. As you know, Ms. Read specialized in selling clothing for plus size women. I was wondering how will the plus size models in Kuching would be like. I’m sure you are wondering about it also.

I was expecting plus size girls in their 20’s but they turned out to be aunties! Where were all the young plus size girls in Kuching? I know many plus size girls that are young and pretty but where are they for this fashion show? No offence… I just didn’t expect aunties to walk the runway. Something new to me.

Here you go!

I definitely cannot fit in any of these *LOL*

Update: It seems like this post has hurt some of the models, all I can say is that I’m sorry for the choice of words and the way I expressed myself. Just like what was stated in the comment, I’m a small town girl, a small town girl has never seen the world. You ladies have in fact open up the world to small town people like us and seriously and sincerely, you ladies do look good in those outfits. That’s why I posted these photos to prove that the statements I made above were wrong else you think I will bother?

Based on your comments, some of the models actually feel hurt. They are just helping out and having fun. It takes the courage to walk that long runway and this is their first time doing the show. So just give them a break.

Do you think your friends of your similar age can put up with the show? I don’t think they have the charisma to carry MS READ brand?

Lastly I hope what you have posted is from the heart and not from the head. It’s never nice for a small town girl to offend people.

No offence it’s just my opinion.

Anoymous M.R., hmm… I posted it from my heart.

I didn’t say anything about them being not good or anything else and it’s pretty obvious it’s their first time but they are quite good already for first timer.

They turned out quite good in the photos else I won’t even bother to post it out and take hours to edit and arrange them. Also I wouldn’t kill my camera’s shutter life by taking more than 200 photos of them to make sure I get good photos of them.

I was just expressing my surprise which is from my heart. If you read again carefully, I was very curious and since I’ve been shown with young, skinny pretty models all these while, so it’s natural for me to think that they might go for young plus-sized models.

I dare say some of them are the same age as my friends mothers. So, naturally I will address them as aunties but even they are aunties, this doesn’t mean that they cannot be trendy and beautiful.

Or maybe the word “aunties” offended them or you coz for many people, this word doesn’t sound good. Please tell me, what is the best word to use? All I can say is I’m sorry for the choice of word I’m using, my vocabulary is a bit limited.

Like you said, my friends might not have the charisma to pull out the clothing which at certain extend it’s true but again like I said earlier on, I was expecting young models.

Also, like you said, no offence, it’s you opinion. You are entitled to it, and I’m entitled to mine also.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your opinions and welcome.

Looks like Ms Read in Kuching is targeting older women.

Rose, hmmm… I guess so but I think plus size younger women will also look good in them too especially for younger corporate women as I’m sure they do have problem in looking for formal wears for their size.

Oh ya… Older women might sound better than using aunties.

Thank you for clarify everything. I hope the girls will be ok after reading it.

    Thanks again.

Anoymous M.R., no worries. I hope they are not offended, partly it’s because of my wrong usage of words. Anyway, thanks for sharing 🙂
