The Original Carwash

Posted on August 23, 2008April 7, 2022 By sweet surrender 27 Comments on The Original Carwash

This place is so unique! I heard of it but never know where the actual location is. Never had the chance to go until few days back to celebrate someone’s birthday. Not telling you who, later he “perasan” *LOL* I’m going to talk about The Original Carwash and not the birthday πŸ˜›

How to go there?
It’s located at Rubber Road, opposite ING office. Do you know the Singapore Chicken Rice at that area? It’s just further up and you will see it. You can see the wall from there.

It’s owned by one of our very own tycoons’ sons in Sarawak. Neh~ That one renovated the KIA one and other airports in East Malaysia hahaha… No wonder the architecture got such similarity with all the glasses.

I didn’t expect the place to be so classy. When we reach there we were in awe! Start snapping and snapping, it’s so dark and it’s not easy to take nice photos even with my camera, I tried out many settings and none really worked well. I did a lot of editting to the photos in this post. It took us a long time just to take these photo πŸ˜› Hehehe… Another two friend was waiting and waiting inside hahaha…

The environment is really nice, great place for hanging out with friends and just relax. There’re two sections, the outdoor and the indoor. If you guys are chatterbox, then the outdoor one is great for you. If you want quiet and relaxing dinner, you can sit inside but we broke the silence in there πŸ˜›

Once we got in, we start taking photos everywhere! This is because only us and another group of diners, so we snapped away, if there’s many diners then we won’t dare πŸ˜› The management was amused or irritated by us, I have no idea πŸ˜› Bad, bad…

Left: The menu. In fact you can download the whole menu, exactly the same, you can even print it out clearly from their website, www.theoriginalcarwash.com. They specialised in Thai and Western food. The menu is proudly presented to you by the founders of Bla Bla Blah, The Junk and The Living Room.

Right: Our drinks. (R-L)
Dragonfruit Juice (RM6.50)
Berries Thicks (RM5)
P. Butter Chocolate (RM5), I ordered this and it’s very sweet with lots of peanut butter, so rich! If you are eating something there, don’t order this, if you just go there for a drink, you can order this.
Orange Juice (RM5.50).
Not to forget the bottle there is The Original Carwash mineral water in the middle that costs RM3.50.

Tom Yam Goong Soup (RM18) and Tom Kha Gai Soup (RM12). Both are spicy, if you can’t stand it, then don’t order it. Tom Yam Goong Soup(thai hot seafood soup with lime, lemongrass and chilli) is spicier than Tom Kha Gai Soup(chicken with galenga and home made coconut milk).

The coconut milk aroma in Tom Kha Gai Soup is really thick! If you have Tom Yam Goong Soup before Tom Kha Gai Soup, you can’t even taste a hint of spiciness to the Tom Kha Gai Soup. Hahaha… In fact both soups are really thick! Not so bad.

Each of them can be shared among 5-6 persons.

Chicken Chop (RM20), the plate was so HUGE! Bigger than me!! *LOL* The portion is BIG!! I mean the fries and the salad, the chicken chop is standard size.

Lamb Chop (RM25), according to the birthday boy, it’s not so bad just many bones hahaha… But that’s how lamb chop is, bones!! πŸ˜› That’s why I never like to order lamb chop hehehe… The plate is HUGE like mine so does the portion of salad and fries.

Par Mek Pat Pong Ka Le(RM18), stir fried squid with curry sos comes with a plate of rice and veggies. Can share this with 2-3 friends!! Hmm… Nothing to rave coz I couldn’t taste well after the Tom Yam Goong πŸ˜›

Par Ped Ka Min (RM18), stir fried fish with turmric, thai style comes with a plate of rice and veggies. It’s bitter -.-” I think it’s after me having the Tom Kha Gai Soup, I can’t taste anything but bitter hahaha…. So, don’t know how to comment. The others said that it’s salty but it’s bitter to me. Can share this also with 2-3 friends.

Left: Fettucine Carbonara (RM23), so cheesy, if me, I sure can’t finish it. It tasted good though.
Right: Our table for 5, if another friend manage to join us, I don’t think the table can fit all the food we ordered hahaha…

Lastly, before we went off, we took some photos at the other side of the restaurant, you get to see a Ferrari 355 GTS there and lots of antique. You can also buy fruits there.

Was so FULL that night. Total damage was RM159.50.

I have been going here since it opened. Yes, the car wash itself is abit pricey, but it is a good place to hang out/date while getting your car cleaned.

and I tasted the lamb chop once, and I think its very much worth the money. Plus, they play music while you dine (Of course I mean through the speakers)… and its just an awesome place to be and hang out… esspecially since its not really that crowded.

No wonder TPK can make money!!! Wash car also can be fun hen you go here!

Katherine-Lee, should check it out and bring your friends along and then split cost on the food, it’s cheaper that way, the portion is great for sharing.

Yea… kinda expensive but portion is big. If sharing/spliting the cost it will worth it since the portion is more suitable for sharing.

Rowena, there shouldn’t be any tax charged. I’m not sure about now but it shouldn’t be.

Hey, If i were to dine in there, does it mean I can get free car wash?

  26. sweet surrender says:
    October 8, 2010 at 7:01 pm

Angie, no, you don’t. It just means that you can have your car wash there and can take the opportunity to have a drink or dine there when you’re waiting or just dine or drink there without washing your car.

  27. sweet surrender says:
    October 8, 2010 at 7:03 pm

Angie, nope, they just want you to drink or dine there while waiting for your car wash or just drink and dine there without sending your car to wash. Free car wash is impossible LOL…
