Serian Fire Again…

Posted on June 7, 2009June 7, 2009 By sweet surrender 6 Comments on Serian Fire Again…

You remember the the row of old shops that were burnt down in 2007? That time they blamed it on the low water pressure. This time, another fire broke out and same reason was given. The fire department there sure will get grill again!! Obviously as it’s in the newspapers on 3rd June, various politicians were very concerned about the low water pressure issue. YEA RIGHT!

I got to know about it from a forum on 1st June but since it’s a public holiday, there wasn’t anyone that could give a confirmation. It started very early on the morning on 1st June. Also we didn’t go back for Gawai, so we didn’t know much. Many thought that it was the newly built shops that were just completed after the 2007 fire. The next day, we found out that it’s another row of shop, somewhere behind Petronas.

Yesterday, my parents decided to go to Serian and after our lunch(will blog about it), we tried to locate the place that got burnt down. Here’s the photos:

Serian is a small town with 3 petrol stations located not very far from each other, so you can imagine if fire is to break out at anywhere near the stations and the fire is out of control. The whole Serian town might be gone! Scary…

Feeling very tired lately, I don’t know why. Not in very good mood too. Don’t feel like doing anything too. Blame the weather?

I dont think that the whole town will be gone if a fire does happen near a petrol station. All 3 petrol stations are quite far from each other (except Shell and Esso)

Anyway, speculations from Serian say that people purposely burned the shop. Been living in Serian for ages before I moved to Kuching, and all I can say is “Well..karma baby..”

Cyril, it definitely will blew up the whole town, those things are easily flamable, furthermore with the oil keeping at those tanks in the station, there are tonnes of oil. This one is slightly far but imagine if one is happening to the same row as the petrol station, we’ll never know. Just like the one last time, opposite it. If it can’t be controlled due to low water pressure and with the “mercy” of mother nature, it might be this bad. Furthermore, surely there will be explosion, so anywhere will just get hit.

THE SERIAN FIRE STATION AND THE FIREMEN HOUSE SHOULD BE ON FIRE ALSO, THEN THEY WILL REALLY LOOK INTO THE MATTER OF LOW WATER PRESSURE ….. :-<

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
