Easy Fried Tilapia Fillets

Posted on October 3, 2007October 4, 2007 By sweet surrender No Comments on Easy Fried Tilapia Fillets

I have one recipe to share with you. We always have tilapia at home. Usually what my mom do with it is by steaming it with some ginger and garlic, sometimes will add in a bit of salted vegetables. It’s best eaten when it’s still hot and dip the tilapia meat with chili+soy sauce. Yummy… This is the best way to eat tilapia if it’s very fresh.

However, sometimes it’s not that fresh to steam so we will fried it. Just want to share a recipe here with you and also as my future reference:

Easy Fried Tilapia Fillets
1 pound of Tilapia fillets
Ice water
½ teaspoon of salt
½ teaspoon of fresh ground pepper
¼ cup of flour (preferably all-purpose flour)
2 egg whites
¼ cup of yellow cornmeal
¼ cup of seasoned bread crumbs
1 teaspoon of dried thyme
1 teaspoon of dried marjoram
Cooking spray

Preparation:
– Start by preheating the oven to 400° Fahrenheit.
– Cut the Tilapia fillets into four serving pieces if necessary.
– Place the Tilapia fillets in ice water and allow them to soak for a few minutes.
– Rinse the Tilapia fillets under cold running water, before you carefully pat them dry with a paper towel or similar.
– Place salt, pepper and flour in a shallow pan or plate and mix them together.
– Separate the egg whites from the egg yolks, and disregard the egg yolks. Beat the egg whites until they are white and foamy and put them in another shallow pan or plate.
– Place yellow cornmeal, bread crumbs, dried thyme and dried marjoram in a separate shallow pan or plate and blend the ingredients together.
– Cover the Tilapia fillets by first dipping them into the flour mix and then into the egg white mix.
– Finnish by carefully covering the Tilapia fillets completely in the bread crumb mix.
– Use cooking spray to coat a low sided baking pan.
– Put the Tilapia fillets in the baking pan and bake them in the oven during 10-12 minutes. The fried Tilapia is ready when it is easy to flake the fish using a fork.

Hotel Chocolat – Raspberry & Blackcurrant Fusion

About Nuffnang ad that I ranted, it can only be seen by US/Canada visitors not us. I’m lucky enough to be one of those that has been given the chance to serve this ad. Hopefully the payout will be higher :p I’m desperate for my first cash out!

OK πŸ˜› Hehehe… This is the final post about Hotel Chocolat chocolate. This is the last time I let you drool over these chocolates that you can’t buy in Malaysia.

This is called Raspberry & Blackcurrant Fusion, the prettiest of all hahaha… So colourful! Raspberries and blackcurrants set into a swirl of white chocolate and milk chocolate. These are real fruits.

The milk chocolate is OK but the white chocolate is too sweet for my liking. However, my parents can accept this one unlike the previous low sugar or dark chocolate.

By the way, this is almost the actual size of the chocolate.

Enjoy!

Malaysians Can Withdraw Paypal Now! – Debit Card Version (2)

Posted on October 1, 2007October 2, 2007 By sweet surrender 14 Comments on Malaysians Can Withdraw Paypal Now! – Debit Card Version (2)

I know that withdrawing your Paypal funds to credit card is quite stupid. Not that I never thought of it before, I did. That’s why we do it with debit card first. We will still do it for the sake of blogging even though we know that we will loss quite an amount of money in there *LOL* At least we can have a breakdown of charges to show you that which way is a better way to do it so that you can make a better choice or just stick back to your VMI or whatever card you have πŸ˜› There are already a lot of posts about using VMI, Accent etc. Someone just has to do it for this! I doubt many will test it with their credit card hahaha… So crazy!

Remember the post about Malaysians Can Withdraw Paypal Now! – Debit Card Version? Here’s the latest update about it. Actually I posted the progress first in Money Money Come yesterday in Paypal: Malaysians Can Withdraw Funds From Paypal Now! (Part 2).

Checked the status in Paypal and the status is changed to “Completed”.

Next, we login to Alrajhi Bank online banking and found out that RM1 is deducted for “Purchase Debit”.

So far, it runs smoothly. We will see when the money will be going into the bank account. Stay tuned! Hehehe…

Setting Up irenelaw.com

Posted on September 30, 2007September 30, 2007 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on Setting Up irenelaw.com

I don’t know what’s wrong with Nuffnang. Whenever I have high traffic they didn’t give me ad, whenever my traffic is low, then they give me ad. Sigh… Never the right timing. I’m assigned with an ad from 30 September-6 October but the ad isn’t displaying at all and I’m experiencing quite high traffic since yesterday(I guess… With so many link back from people and visits for the Malaysians Can Withdraw Paypal Now! – Debit Card Version post). Sigh… More traffic means you earn more, low raffic means you’ll earn less. Where’s my ad?!!?!? Almost wasted half day traffic already πŸ™

Remember I said that I will set up a new blog in irenelaw.com when the time comes? The time is not here yet but I’m planning to install WordPress for it first and start with my first post. Then link back to whoever that links to it. At the same time, it will also serve as my playground for experimenting with all sort of plugins and themes before I implement it over here as I’m thinking of switching to a new theme. So when the time comes, all I need to do is start posting. πŸ˜›

By the way, I’m still using the very old version of WordPress hahaha… No guts to upgrade it after hearing many horror stories… Now I plan to upgrade it, oh dear… Not now though… I’m waiting for a suitable time to do so. As lately I don’t have such luxury to mess around with things like this, if in case something happen *touch wood* I’ll be in deep shit. Must find a time without any distraction and make sure Streamyx is behaving itself(lately the line isn’t stable, kept disconnected) to do it. Will be somewhere this month after I’m back from my Miri trip.

By the way, anyone wanna meet up with me at Miri? I’ll be there from 6th-8th October. I haven’t figure out what to do there hahaha… What can I do there? My friend haven’t confirm with me whether he can bring me around or not. I did some research on the net and there seems to be nothing interesting and not much interesting places to go hahaha… πŸ˜› By the way, don’t ask me to go to the jungle or the caves *LOL* I’m not into that and I’m not prepare for it as well. Ah well… Maybe I’ll just loiter around hahaha… If you want, just leave me a message or e-mail me at aiilinglaw AT Gmail.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
