MK Classico Caffe

Posted on August 22, 2015August 22, 2015 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on MK Classico Caffe

If you notice, I seldom post about food outlets in this blog recently. Well… Most didn’t meet my expectations, so quite lazy to share here but will be featured in my Instagram and Facebook with short comments. Those deserve it will get another sharing in my blog. That’s how it is now…

MK Classico Caffe (Jalan Tabuan, 93100 Kuching, Sarawak) started operation this year. Saw many people tried the place out came back with good feedback. Been wanting to go since months ago but never get the chance. It’s not easy to park and it opens at 6pm. Finally, managed to pay a visit to the place last night.

The address provided seems to be unclear, it’s not hard to locate. Find Ting & Ting Supermarket, then Borneo Hotel, you’ll locate it.

They have two floors. The ground floor with all the seating configuration for big group. We wanted to go up but when I saw the staircase, I surrendered. I was wearing skirt! Cannot go up! So we ended up sitting at the corner. Just nice for two of us with the amount of food we ordered.

Cafes nowadays like to use this type of interior design, looks like it’s the in-thing now. Brick wall without covering of paint, rugged, and filled with antiques.

Even though we ordered only 2 dishes, they were huge! A bit too much for two of us, 3 would be just nice. Total bill was RM49. Very reasonable.

Left: MK Triple Chips (RM12), so filling! With three types of chips: nachos, sweet potato, and fries. Just order this to share with your friends (2 or 3 of you) if you want to have a catch up, it’s good enough. Split the cost, each only pay RM4! Portion reasonable with the price. Not oily too. Fries and sweet potato sticks were deep fried just right.

Right: Great striploin steak with very affordable price, RM25. I’ve not eaten any steak in Kuching for years because I’ve been disappointed by all of them, paying double or triple of this price, yet getting lousy steak. When I saw this on the menu with the pricing, I was thinking, what the heck, craving for some beef steak… It’s so cheap, even if it turned out bad, still not feeling so bad. What to expect with such price right?

When it came, too much sauce, I scrapped it to the side, however ended clearing up the sauce from the plate because I love the black pepper sauce, so different from the typical ones you get in Kuching. Instead of eating the sauce with the steak, I drizzled it on the mashed potato. Oh yummy!

The steak was so tender and not thin, it’s about one inch thick and bigger than my hand, almost melt in the mouth. Heavenly!

RM25 ONLY! Hello!?!? I was expecting something pathetically thin, dry, and hard yet it came out totally opposite. I requested medium. Worth every single penny. If I’m paying RM40-60 for this quality I don’t mind at all but sadly many places charging this price served bad steak. Kudos to MK Classico Caffe. Hopefully the quality will maintain.

I do recommend this place, will definitely go back to try other food next time.

Irene, Looks good, But services and quality of food are more important than decors.
This kind of place will work if food, price and ambient all work together.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
