Kirkleatham Museum (Kirkleatham, Redcar TS10 5NW, United Kingdom) is where you can learn about the history of Borough of Redcar & Cleveland. We went there on a Sunday during the summer holiday. It was quite busy. Here’s the compilation of my posts that I did on my Instagram. Also, I’ve uploaded some videos I’ve taken at the Owl Centre.
Kirkleatham Museum
The museum is housed in a magnificent 1709 Queen Anne building built by Cholmley Turner. It used to be a Free School for Boys. The museum was opened on 5th October 1981. The admission is free.
The Owl Centre
After visiting the museum, we went over to the Owl Centre. It was established in 1990. Fun fact, it’s UK’s oldest established Owl Centre. Aside from that, it’s the only Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre specializes in treating hundreds of wildlife casualties each year in the area.
You’ll have to pay for the entrance. If you would like to go out and return on the same day, just get your hand stamped and you can re-enter without paying.
Few more posts to go to complete this year’s UK summer holiday trip.
How time flies!?! It’s 2025 in a few days time. Wishing you a happy new year in advance.
