Century Eggs

Posted on October 21, 2007October 20, 2007 By sweet surrender 11 Comments on Century Eggs

Yucky or not? Hahaha.. It’s century egg, the egg that was preserved for 100 years with horse urine! *EVIL GRIN* It was used in Fear Factor summore. Oh my… I was laughing so hard when I saw this was used for Fear Factor hahaha… You could see the horrifying expressions on the contestants faces when they heard it. Same goes to durian.

Actually this egg is not preserved for 100 years, who will believe it πŸ˜› It’s preserved with clay, ash, salt, lime, and rice straw for several weeks to several months or soaking the eggs in a brine of salt and lye for 10 days followed by several weeks of aging while wrapped in plastic. The horse urine is just a myth hahaha…

I like century egg, not too much though. Having it once in a while is fine, not everyday. Sometimes belachan beehon is serve with a small slice of century egg too. I like it with pickled ginger, yummy…

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
