Kuching Festival 2006(8) – Opening Ceremony

Posted on August 13, 2006March 21, 2007 By sweet surrender No Comments on Kuching Festival 2006(8) – Opening Ceremony

“Oh my… it’s so romantic darling! *MUAH* It’s so nice! Thank you very much!”
“*Down on his bended knee* Will you marry me my sweety pie?”
“Oh yes! My chuchu! I do!”
Then the couple sat there looking up the sky, kissing each other under night sky brightened by the fireworks!
Star light,
Star bright,
Let the fireworks,
Brighten up the night sky…
Isn’t it great?

HOLD ON THERE!! ROMANTIC? YOU CALL THAT ROMANTIC!?!? GOSSHHH! That’s ridiculous! You know some Cantonese dramas like to use this kind of scene? It’s misleading! It’s damn torturing! No fun! Neck pain! Looking up to the sky to see the fireworks, and the ashes and debris fell into your eyes, on your head, your face and your body. The sparks fell not far in front of you that might cause burnt if you are so unlucky that it fell on you. Then after the fireworks, you rub your face with a white tissue, you get shimmery greyish stained on the tissue. It’s worst if you are sweating or you have oily skin.

OK! There! This is my first close encounter with fireworks. Seeing it right on the spot instead of my bedroom window. It’s no fun I tell you. It really scares me and I was desperately looking for place to hide from the falling ashes and debris from the sky but then If I went into one of the huts in Hookien Garden, I couldn’t see the whole thing. Both my eyes experienced a bit of discomfort because of the ashes that fell into them. The debris fell on my shoulder and when I swept it off, it left black marks on my shoulders and I need to rub them off. Lots of poeple were quite desperate to find a place to hide from the falling ashes and debris too but couldn’t find a strategic place to see the full fireworks especially those that brought their children along. Wear goggle next time! πŸ˜› I’m afraid no more next time for me!

The fireworks started after the minister offciate the festival. I forgot what time was it because I didn’t have a watch. It’s let off at the Hockey Stadium next to Hokkien Garden. We have a video for it and it’s still editting. Will post it up once I got hold of it.

Don’t get me wrong. I love fireworks very much but not so close to it. Fireworks are romantic but not this way. My idea of romantic fireworks is dining in a high rise building or high place, somewhere that allows you to see the city skyline, any city will do :P, and having candlelit dinner with my love one. After the dinner, we sit there looked out the window, in each other embrace and see the fireworks light up the night sky. That’s romantic LOL! Are you ready to puke? Go ahead πŸ˜› haahhaha… I’m just a hopeless romantic.

PIKOM PC Fair 2006

Posted on August 13, 2006March 21, 2007 By sweet surrender No Comments on PIKOM PC Fair 2006

This post comes with a video! YAY!! Video!!! I’m hosting it!!

PIKOM PC FAIR 2006 is held at Permata Car Park, 5th floor. It’s from 11-13 August. There are 41 companies take part with the total of 56 stalls.

Well… be frank with you, I don’t know I went there for what because I’m no longer interested in computer hardwares or electronics stuffs and I’m kind lost touch with it already summore I’m jinx! Don’t ask me what are the newest gadget in town or whatever, I DON’T KNOW!! If it’s not because of the assingment that required me to “host” our program πŸ˜› I wouldn’t be going haahah… IT’s indorr and air-conditioned but it’s really hot! The air conditioning wasn’t storng enough and lots pf people too.

So… Enough of all that, here’s the video. It’s in Chinese. Sorry… But do have a look at what’s going on around. It’s a summary of the fair. Not much talking anyway. My face is big in there coz I stood too near to the camera πŸ˜› Couldn’t help it, it’s too hot, I need to tie up my hair. I know many prefer me to have my hair down instead of tying it up hehehe…

Kuching Festival 2006(1) – Guess Who?

*** Here’s a smaller size video for easy loading if you are fed up of waiting for the big file to load. It’s about 5MB —-> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEbIBuYzypw

I have tonnes of photos to edit. It will take quite a while. Went to Kuching Festival Food Fair with Jimmy, Chung Nien and Wei last night. Guess what we did? Sorry for dial up user… This video file is big, at least 12MB. It’s a must watch!!! You’ll regret if you don’t! *EVIL GRIN*

By the way, it’s in Mandarin but not much talking. Sorry to those who don’t understand Mandarin. I’m not good in doing it in English. In was bad enough in Mandarin already, English would be worst. LOL… No preparations done, it’s all directed and planned right on the spot. Meanwhile, I’m going to edit all those photos taken last night.

I Want Double Eyelids!

Posted on June 7, 2006August 18, 2007 By sweet surrender 7 Comments on I Want Double Eyelids!

Don’t you hate it when your have double eyelids but then they don’t show because they’re in there? πŸ™ And you don’t want to spend the money or guts to go for cosmetic surgery in Manhattan? So I bought this eyelid tapes from Guardian for RM5.80. There are 20 pairs in a pack.

How to use?
1. Make sure your eyelids are clean. This means, no eye cream too. Just clean bare skin.
2. Use a tweezer or your nails(if you have long nails) to lift the tape up. This is because if you use your finger, it might not be that stickable and not that transparent anymore.
3. Place it in between the fold of your eyelid and press it firmly but gently, so that you don’t introduce unwanted wrinkles around your eyes.
4. Apply eyeshadows to cover the tapes. It’s better if you use cream eyeshadows.
See the result!!! TADA!!!!

More… ehehhe… I know there are people waiting for these pictures ;p

AHHAHA… see the result ;p I have double eyelids now!!! Duh… I already had them just that it’s hidden. Now it’s shown. It looked bigger and it’s easier to apply mascara too.

The downside of it is that if you looked down or close/blink your eyes, the tape can be seen pretty clearly but some people didn’t notice it, depends on how observant that person is. Avoid looking down or blink too much if you don’t want people to know.

Not only that, frequent practice is required to achieve a better effect and avoid reapplying too often. Else it will not be that sticky anymore and the transparent-ness will gone. It’s used-and-throw. No recycling.

Oh… for those that do not have double eyelids can also achieve the double eyelids effect with these tapes. Here’s how according to Cleo March 2006 issue, apply on the lids about half a centimetre above lashline or where you desire you eyelids to fall. Then follow the steps above. So that’s how you can easily and affordably get double eyelids.

Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
