Behind The Scene – Bloggers’ Meet

Posted on January 22, 2007January 24, 2007 By sweet surrender 11 Comments on Behind The Scene – Bloggers’ Meet

Saw the news about Jeff Ooi and Ahirudin bin Attan are being sued by NST for defamation last week. Click here to read more about it. So, what do you think? I’m not worry as I’m not into topics like that but I feel that it’s not very fair. The ISA didn’t even catch them but it’s NST that wants to sue them. I don’t understand and there is not need to make me understand.

Damn Streamyx! Kept disconnecting! I can’t update my blog! Missed out opportunities in PPP too! *ANGRY* Took me ages to get this post up *show middle finger*Support the petition!

Warning: Bandwidth sucker!!

Last year, Sue wanted to meet us, Kuching bloggers, when she’s back in Kuching and we had a bloggers’ meet at her place and it was really an eye opener to her. Not only that, Unker Ho’s Lala Crofts that met us at bing! also had the chance to feel how a bloggers’ meet is like. I’m sure many of you, non bloggers, have this big question mark of what’s going on when there’s a bloggers’ meet taking place? Usually it’s a private affair just like when you are meeting up with your gang. However, there are special things going on that you will not get in a normal meet. I’m going to let you go behind the scene and remember, you see it first in Sweet Surrender!

Cameras, cameras, cameras…

When the food/drinks come, it’s photo taking time. No one can touch the food/drinks until we are satisfied with our photos.

Eat, eat, eat, drink, drink, drink, talk, talk, talk. Eh! Got ppl take photo! *POSE* Others that don’t know just yakking away and do their own stuffs and showing off skills.

Camwhoring, disturb people’s food/drinks, making fun of others, making fun of ourselves, and if you see bloggers that kept hiding their faces from the cameras, these bloggers would like to remain anonymous.

That’s about it. Oh… We were labelled the noisy bunch by the one of the staff of bing!. -_-” We are loud too! 😛 Also, group photo is a must to us. Worst, if there are 10 cameras, someone that is appointed to be the photographer(usually it’s anyone that is not related to our meet) will need to handle 10 cameras.

The end!

Photos are from Ben, Miracle8, Ann, Allen, Robin, and Frank

Meme – Meeting the Future In-Laws

Posted on January 20, 2007January 20, 2007 By sweet surrender 16 Comments on Meme – Meeting the Future In-Laws

WOW! Ben tagged me for the first time and already throw this long one to me. So many questions, feels like being interview by future in-laws (-.-“) as if I had this experience before *LOL* This is going to take a while.

1) Are your parents married or divorced?
Married.

2) Are you a vegetarian?
No. I don’t like it… too oily, too many MSG, too salty, too sweet. Oh… I’m not impress with people that claimed to be a vegetarian becuase of their religion. Especially when their religion says no to killing animal but they have this mentality of eating vegetarian meat to replace the real meat. This simply means you are not even “clean” spiritiually because you still have the urge to want to eat meat but you can’t therefore have to resort to vegetarian meat to get a taste of real meat. I don’t mind eating vegetarian food for fun, I like some of them but not all.

3) Do you believe in Heaven?
Yes.

4) Have you ever come close to dying?
Hmm.. Once when I was still very little. I ran across the street wihtout knwoing a car was going to speed by so fast. It’s like a split second only. Scary. That’s why I don’t really dare to cross the road alone.

Gold, of course. Who wants to be the second. I want to be the winner!

All About Photography

Posted on January 14, 2007November 10, 2007 By sweet surrender 9 Comments on All About Photography

Many bloggers are interested in photography. We bring our compact cameras everywhere and shoot almost anything with it. It’s worst when there’s a bloggers’ meet. Everyone can’t seem to stop snapping pictures. We are not pro, we are just bloggers and the most affordable camera to buy is of course a compact camera. We all know that there are many limitations in compact cameras. However, it’s not the end of the world yet. I found this article about taking Better pictures with a compact from a photography blog. Hopefully with the tips, we can maximize our compact cameras potential.

Here’s one more that is very interesting. Since CNY is coming soon… In about 1 month+ time, Oh gosh.. Haven’t do my shopping yet :P. Ok enough of that. Let’s go back to our topic. On CNY’s eve, I’m sure there will be people bombing their money into the sky. I tried desperately to take photos of fireworks last year and ended up with awful shoots. I’m sure I’m not the only one. Let’s learn from this article, How to photograph fireworks. Hopefully it’s helpful enough 🙂

Happy shooting!

You’ve Got Mail – Open Air Movie Carnival 2006

Posted on August 20, 2006March 21, 2007 By sweet surrender No Comments on You’ve Got Mail – Open Air Movie Carnival 2006

I got these tickets for free 😛

On Friday morning, I got a message telling me that I’ve got mail in my red mailbox. I was kinda blurred and didn’t bother much about it even though this reader of mine(sorry can’t tell you who this reader is, I promise not to expose the identity of this reader) tried to explain to me. I even forgotten that I have a red mailbox downstair 😛 When I sent my bro to school, I saw something in the mailbox, I took it out, it’s an envelope with two movie passes! It’s hand delivered summore on Thursday night. My early b’day gift? Hehehehe…

Thank you very very much! Geee… I got free stuffs! 😛 Wow… I thought only those popular bloggers will have the privilege of getting free stuffs LOL… This is consider my first though it’s not from some sort of companies that need the blogger to review their stuffs. I actually got my 1st gift from my reader WOW! Thanks again. It’s supposed to be for me and my sis 😛 but then I invited Jimmy LOL… Don’t think she would want to go.

Two RM5 passes. There were RM3 ones but limited to 500 tickets and it’s sold out long time ago. It’s a 3-day event with all kind of activities from band performace to Celcom roadshow to free ice cream for children below 12 to jungle treasure hunt to the movie screening. There were 3 movies each day.

Here’s the excerpts of the event from their offical website:
Experiencing our outdoor screening event in open air! After month of planning, the “Tri-Generations Movie Carnival” event going to held on 18-20th of August 2006. This will be a very interesting event where everyday have special program and Jungle Treasure Hunt. Great prices will be given away. So bring your family, friends and your love once to watch movies under the stars with lovely environment.

I went there on Friday evening and decided no to watch it on that day. Just went there to take some pictures.

Since we couldn’t made it on Saturday, so we decided to go today and intended to watch one movie only. We reached there before 7pm and parked behind Civic Center because there weren’t proper/legal parking spaces near it. The nearest was across the road, Civic Center.

The things there were quite overpriced! Dare not to buy much things except black soya bean drink and “longan” drink for RM2 each. Should had brought my junk food along eheheh… Everyone was sitting on the floor. Some found used boxes and spreaded them on the floor to be more comfortable. The floor was rough and hard… awww… butt painful 😛

Left: View of the ppl, ah well… Too dark can’t get any nice photos.
Right: Jungle Treasur Hunt! What? Looking for brown envelopes on, in front and the back of the stage called Jungle Treaure Hunt? That’s the jungle? LOL… I didn’t join, so lazy to get up and risk getting my place seated by people.

I changed places more than 3 times to get fresher air. Damn!! Really can’t stand those smokers! Puffing non stop! I know they have the roght to smoke coz it’s not air-conditioned place but it really annoyed me. OIII! YOU DON’T WANT TO LIVE, I STIL WANT! INHALLING SECOND HAND SMOKE IS WORST THAN SMOKING! Though found a place where lucky enough that no one smoke behind me or next or in front of me but the smoke from rows behind me or from further away actually being blown here! Grrrr… I had to use tissue to cover my nose. Oh… got mosquito bit me too 😛 luckily only one.

So I watched Garfield 2 that started at 7.15pm and ended around 8.30pm. Then I left that place to go somewhere else for late dinner. Not intended to stay there till the final movie that most probably would end at 1am. Too uncomfortable. Pretty torturing experience. 😛

What the xxxx that
you called that “Tri-Generations Movie Carnival”!!??!!? For the kids, for the parents for the grandparents!! Sigh… ask the old people to sit down like that it’s way too cruel and torturing. Poor grandpas and grandmas. Even young people like me couldn’t stand sitting like that, I was pretty restless that time, kept changing my sitting position to get a comfortable position but too bad… None! How do you expect those old folks to be able to stand it?

So.. that’s the end of my experience watching outdoor movie. Thanks for the tickets again!! I don’t blame you for the discomfort, don’t worry. Heheheh…

Kuching Festival 2006(1) – Guess Who?

Posted on August 1, 2006January 7, 2007 By sweet surrender 1 Comment on Kuching Festival 2006(1) – Guess Who?

*** Here’s a smaller size video for easy loading if you are fed up of waiting for the big file to load. It’s about 5MB —-> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEbIBuYzypw

I have tonnes of photos to edit. It will take quite a while. Went to Kuching Festival Food Fair with Jimmy, Chung Nien and Wei last night. Guess what we did? Sorry for dial up user… This video file is big, at least 12MB. It’s a must watch!!! You’ll regret if you don’t! *EVIL GRIN*

By the way, it’s in Mandarin but not much talking. Sorry to those who don’t understand Mandarin. I’m not good in doing it in English. In was bad enough in Mandarin already, English would be worst. LOL… No preparations done, it’s all directed and planned right on the spot. Meanwhile, I’m going to edit all those photos taken last night.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
