Few days ago was my bro’s birthday. Thought of buying a whole cake from Secret Recipe but realised that we didn’t have enough people to finish that one huge cake, my sis is not here, my aunt is not here too so ended up my parents bought 3 pieces of cakes from Secret Recipe. Each of them cost RM6.50.

My bro made his choices:
Left: Chocolate Indulgence, this is still one of the best. Creamy and rich Belgian chocolate and white chocolate filling. This is what got my dad changed his perception of cakes from Secret Recipe.

Middle: White Chocolate Macadamia, too sweet! Not going to buy this anymore. Combination of fresh roasted macadamia nuts and creamy vanilla filling coated with white chocolate.

Right: Classic Chesse, not so bad, not too sweet. A traditional blend of mascarpone and cream cheese on a chocolate sponge based and finished with a classic touch.

After the karaoke session, we went to look for a place for dinner and ended up at Pure Fish Ball Cafe at Padungan because couldn’t spend much on food hahaha… My friend’s money was limited and I forgot to bring my money along. ;p

Ordered Fish Ball Soup(RM3.50) and Ginger Lamb Meat Rice(RM5.80). Nothing much to rave about.

My family always dine here too. I had blogged about it years back before I switch to WordPress platform and found out that I didn’t blog about it in here. So, this is the first post in this blog. Here are some photos that I had taken last year when I dined with my family:

Went to Enter K yesterday with my friend(first time sing K with this friend of mine), only two of us coz don’t know who else to ask and most are not interested. I think this will be the first and last for this year. Due to clashing of time, it’s not possible to go sing with my friend whenever I want. As previously I had mentioned that I only go sing during office hours or weekdays during day time. Impossible I go to sing every public holiday. This should be the one and only karaoke session for 2009.

My second time go to Enter K to sing for the 3-8pm slot but we were half hour late. First time I went, they only provided a glass of drink for each person and titbits. This time, they provided a glass of drink each, tidbits and snacks.

This session is RM23/person, if you have student card, it’s RM22/person which no tax will be charged to this.

For the first time we were greeted with serious system error twice! It restarted itself after that. Luckily the selected songs were not gone phew…

For the first time, we’re not using the usual room(Room 10).

Also for the first time in my K session, I found back my voice that was gone for more than 10 years! Actually I’m still having sore throat but I just sang and ended up couldn’t sing or even talk after 3 songs. So I stopped and let my friend continued. When I felt much OK, I sang again but very softly. Even singing softly was also a problem. I’m screwed!

Then, not long after that, suddenly I managed to sing a very high pitch part that usually I couldn’t reach! WOW! From then on, the voice was back! Anyway, I don’t think this will last without practice.

So many first time hahaha…

Anyway, that was how I spent my public holiday yesterday. The absent minded me even forgot to bring my money and identification documents with me hahaha… So I owed my friend money for this session and also dinner.

I’m sure many of you know that Marrybrown’s first branch is in Bau. Recently(I think…) they have a new branch in Satok. I haven’t been there yet, only heard about it. Last Saturday my parents decided to buy some back to try it out after they had done their shopping at Sunday Market.

Their mascot! Nothing much to say, felt as if you’re buying those children meal ;p

My parents bought the CNY special because it was the last day for this special. They just wanted to try. It came with 2 Pepsi, 2 coleslow, and a box of four types of fried food.

I could only recognise the curly fries, 4 fried popiahs, and 3 pieces of chicken meat. Not sure another one is what, it looked like 4 pillows. The pillow’s filling tasted like vegetarian char siew. The coleslow got pineapple, gave me a shock ;p

This set was RM21+ if not mistaken and we felt that it’s quite expensive as my dad thought the chicken meat was drumstick(it looked like one in the poster) else he won’t opt for this set *LOL*.

Taste wise, I think nothing special.

Few days ago, my parents saw the advert of Pizza Hut on the buy one pizza and get one free pizza in newspapers so decided to buy them for dinner. I remember I read somewhere(I forgot where, I think got several blogs mentioned about it before) and also heard about you can make order online and pick them up when it’s done or even deliver to your house by placing order online. So I told my dad let’s try to make order online and then pick up when it’s done rather than go there to order and wait which we all know it takes quite a fair bit of time.

I went into the site and started to figure out how to use it. The whole process took me about 15 minutes from registration to the confirmation. You can read about my experience in sarawakian.net.
